Christmas Robin

Hi Bloggers

How has your week been so far. I managed to have a crafting disaster - my Grand Calibur broke, the handle snapped off. It is all packed up waiting to be dropped off so it can go back to Ideal World. I haven't had it for very long. It is back to the faithful old Big Shot  no big embossing from me for a while.  I think all my dies will work in the Big Shot. Thankfully I have finished my Christmas cards - yes I completed the last 20. Though a  soon as I thought I had finished my daughter asked me to make one for her boyfriend and so it goes on.

Today's card is a simple Christmas card. When I showed someone at work the Christmas stamps Sam Poole had released  back in September she said "I like robins hint, hint". So I made her this one.

As you can see it is quite a simple card. I already had the Mistletoe background and a robin stamped and heat set, I just had to colour him with Promarkers.

He is nice to colour and quite easy to cut out.

The snowflakes were cut with a die that came free with a magazine. A bit of embossing with a Sue Wilson A4 embossing folder, some black paper and you have a Christmas card.

I hope my friend likes it. I will let you know how I get on with my Grand Calibur I am pleased I can drop it off somewhere and not have to wait in for it to be collected. Enjoy the rest of the week whatever you are doing.

Happy Crafting

Hugs Jackie

  3. Fabulous robin creation Jackie. I love it. My GC also broke. The handles are famous for breaking. If you have any further problems contact SB direct. They sent me out a new handle and some cogs which had also broken, free of charge and my husband fitted them. Its a know design fault. xx

  4. Beautiful card Jackie, love your colouring of the cute robin...recognise him from somewhere :) GC handles are notorious. My GC is old..when they first came out and I have had the handle replaced twice. Just email Spellbinders and they will arrange for a new one, usually comes within a few days. There is one man in the UK who does repairs. I really would have thought they'd have re-desgned it by now as it is a definite weakness.Hugs Carole Z X
