I hope you are having a good week. Down here in Southampton the weather is being kind and we are seeing some sun and some lovely sunsets.
On Saturday I went to a workshop lead by John Lockwood who works as a freelance demonstrator for Creative Expressions. We did three projects during the day. The first was a box for a card, then a card for the box and finally a gift bag. My first project was OK but I messed up the card and the gift bag. John said to the class "Jackie is going to go home and remake the gift bag and email me a picture of it". Right, so that was a challenge.
Here is the gift bag completed it is a little different in size to the one we were making in class. The main panel is 15cm wide the width of the Floral Meadow Striplet by Sue Wilson. I cut the card to size and scored all the lines to make the bag.
To both of the main panels I cut and embossed the Floral Meadows Striplet die. I covered some pink card with a stickly sheet and then I used the outer die to cut the pink to the right size to go behind the striplet. I stuck the pink behind the die cut and covered everything with CS Iced Snow glitter, Finally I used the tip of two of the new silicon smoothies to ink the flowers with Distress ink.
I cut a tag with Sue Wilson's tag die in pink and white and I trimmed the white so the tag would have a pink pierced border.
I did email a picture to John, well he did ask, and he replied saying the bag was very pretty. This bag could be made in lots of different sizes and colours, The side gussets have to be the same depth as the base. I think I will be making lots more and seeing which of my dies will work. So often I don't have a gift bag of the right size. I could also make cards and gift bags to match.
Enjoy the rest of the week. It is nearly the weekend.
Happy Crafting
Hugs Jackie
