I hope that you have had a good week and that the weather has not affected your plans too much. I have had a week on my own at home which has meant that I have had lots of time to craft. I know I am lucky in this respect. Surprisingly I didn't get as much done as I thought I might.
Today sees the start of a new challenge on the Fantasy Stamper Challenge Blog and the new theme is Boys Rule! This is a good excuse to make one of those pesky masculine cards that we all find a bit tricky but are usually fine when we get going. For my card I am sharing the one I made for my husband's birthday, which was the day we came back from the cruise. For this reason I wanted to make a nautically themed card. We celebrated by having a very nice afternoon tea at Marks and Spencer.
I started by making the background I used a stamp set from My Paper World called "At the Seaside". It has all sorts of nautical elements the maps and compass I stamped in Perfect Medium and I heat embossed with silver powder. Then I stamped the anchors with Perfect Medium and heat embossed them with white powder. Finally I inked over the page with three shades of blue Distress Ink.
To create the topper I used the "Nautical Words" stamp by Creative Expressions. I had some nautical postcards in my stash, one of a cruise ship, that seemed appropriate for the design.
I hope you have a good weekend. If you check back tomorrow on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blog you can find the winners of the last challenge. Also there is Design Team call out at the moment.
I would like to join in with the challenge at Crafting by Design - 3 or more layers.
Happy Crafting
