How was your weekend? We have had a busy one and now it is back to work. Mondays do come round very fast.
I have been playing with my Sue Wilson Snow globe die set. I did buy a matching die to create scene inside the globe and some of the treat cups to make the shaker part. But I have been having a think which is always dangerous and you know I like to recycle old Christmas cards.
This is the outcome of my thoughts. The design started with the image as it was gold the rest of the card had to feature gold as well. When we were at Ally Pally we watched Sue Wilson demonstrate with the snow globe die set. She did start by cutting the snow globe without the cutting edge out of the background. This is what I did and then I embossed the background with the new falling snow embossing folder.
The manger scene was cut from an old Christmas card. Now the dome over the image looks like a treat cup but it is in fact the packaging from the magnetic tape I used to create the fridge magnets for the Save the Date cards for our daughter's wedding. I was so thrilled they fitted the snow globe exactly. I do love reusing my packaging where I can.
I was so thrilled with this ideas that I created a second card with another old Christmas card. Inside the shaker part on each card I put some white glitter.
I just love it when I can recycle things to make something else. I think I have nearly finished making my Christmas cards. It is not like last year when I was struggling to finish them. I do have some other ideas for the snow globe dies this time involving stamps.
I would like to enter Challenge 44 at Weekly Christmas Card Challenges and Challenge 30 at A Snowflakes Promise.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
Happy Crafting
