Eighty-fifth Birthday Card for Someone Special

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are having a good week. Today is the start of my husband's Easter holiday. So craft and blogging time is going to be cut short for the next few days. Though I do have a rush wedding card to make for our daughter and son-in-law they need it by the weekend.

Recently we had a few days away in Suffolk so we could attend my lovely uncle's 85th Birthday celebrations. We had such a nice time and the weather was good too.

I wasn't sure quite where to go with this card, The image I chose to use dictated the colours that I decided to use.

This is a Thelwell painting it was used on the advertising literature from the National Trust Thelwell exhibition at Mottisfont. This landscape is local to Mottisfont as Thelwell lived in a village near by. I cut the image and its mats with the Double Pierced circle dies from Creative Expressions. The image was sprayed with Spray and Sparkle from Crafter's Companion.

The sentiment was cut with Happy Birthday Circle die set from Creative Expressions. The numbers were cut with Crafter's Companion dies.

My uncle liked this card though he did moan about it being large. It was a special birthday so it had to be a large card.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Happy Crafting

Hugs Jackie

  9. It's a fabulous card Jackie, the way you let the image dictate the colours used is inspired and the elements you've chosen just match so well. I need to get hold of some of the number dies and I do like that birthday sentiment circle. Belated happy birthday to your Uncle also and have a lovely Easter :) Love & Hugs - Debs xxx
