Cute Little Hedgehogs in a Line

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a quiet day on Saturday. There were lots of jobs around the house and garden that we caught up on. In the garden I harvested 1kg of potatoes that I had grown in a pot. We had some them with our dinner on Sunday they were delicious. On Sunday we had a walk to our local country park to see the field of sunflowers there. We did see the sunflowers but we also got caught in the rain. Later we went to have a cup of tea with our good friends. Sunday was a good day.

I have been tidying my desk and going through  my files and I found this cute little card that I hadn't shared with you.

The background paper and the ribbon was in my stash as well as the buttons.

This is an image stamped with a Little Clair's stamp set. It is such a shame they are no longer in business. I coloured the stamped image with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. I did do this some time ago I found the image when I was doing some tidying. I no longer colour with those pens but I use them to make backgrounds.

This is one of the cards that I will have on sale at the Hampshire Open Studios event. SeaDrift Studio where I will be showing some cards will be open Bank Holiday weekend.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Have a good week

A Bit More Time to Craft - April 15th Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you all doing? What was Easter like for you? It looks like I will be spending my birthday (9th May)  in lockdown. Oh well there are worse things.

The new challenge starts at the A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge blog. The theme is always Anything Goes.

This is the last Easter card I will share with you. I didn't make many this year events overtook me.

I used the Day Star papers to make this card.

Our challenge are always fun and there are lovely digi papers to win. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

The sunburst die came free with a magazine. The tulip die is from Crafter's Companion and the flowerpot is a Spellbinders die.

This is a Creative Expressions die. I do like to mix up the dies I am using.
This is the drawing that our daughter made for our little family at Easter. It features me and my hubby, our Daughter and Son-in-law, his parents and the bunnies. It was so lovely to receive this digitally. I have printed a copy and it is in our lounge.

I did make two versions of this card using different colours of the Day Star papers.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

I wonder what will be coming in the next few weeks.

Stay safe and well.

Get Well Card featuring Clyde the Dragon

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have a relatively quiet week. Today I am helping at a Felting Workshop which is run by my dear friend. I think  we will be making pictures. Sometimes I get to make my own project sometimes I help to complete a project for the group. I won't know what I will be doing until I get there. I do so love helping though it is a lovely gentle morning in very pleasant surroundings.

Although I have had some time to craft this week I have been struggling a bit to know quite what to do. I was looking at the Bugaboo website and I spotted the free image of the week which is Clyde Get Well. The little dragon was so cute he was just begging to be made into a card.

The backing paper was created with some inky kitchen roll when from when I had been using some Brushos. The ribbon was from my stash. The layers were cut with the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions.

Isn't Clyde cute. He was printed onto Neenah card stock and coloured with Promarkers. I used the Double Pierced Rectangle dies to cut out the image and its mat.

The flowers and leaves were created with punches that emboss. I have had these punches for a while it was good to use them again.

I think this is quite a cheerful Get Well card it will go into my basket until I need one.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Enjoy the rest of the week.

So Sorry You are Leaving

Hello My Crafty Friends and Visitors

How has your weekend been going? We had planned to get a lot of gardening done yesterday. The best laid plans, we did manage a couple of hours before the rain started in earnest. On the plus side we have booked four trips to our local theatre. It is just up the road at the secondary school it has 300 seats and they get some good comedy acts there.

Last Thursday I was lucky to have a completely free day. It was the perfect time to craft. Anyway I got a message from someone  I know who asked if I could make a leaving card to be picked up later that afternoon. I love a challenge so I agreed. I had just made a Christmas card with the Snowflake Square Die set from John Next Door and it comes with two dies that have an interesting stitched effect. So I used them to make the top two layers. I created the sentiment on the computer.

I used the Pitcher of Daisies image which is a free image on the Beccy's Place blog. I created a background in Publisher and place the Pitcher on top. I also printed three other pitchers all the same size which meant that I could decoupage the image as I wanted. Normally I would use gel glue for decoupage but as this was a rush I used foam pads. For speed I used the precoloured image.

This card has been picked up and given to the recipient so it is okay to share it.  Enjoy whatever you are doing this weekend.

Flower Fairies Gift Collection from Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Happy Weekend. I hope you are doing something nice. Yesterday we visited our daughter and her new husband. They have been married for exactly a week. Doesn't time go by quickly. We did have a brilliant time at the wedding. We have lots of lovely memories to cherish.

Well I keep treating myself to crafty bits and pieces the latest being the August issue of Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine with its Flower Fairy Gift Collection. I remember the flower fairies from my youth and I know my mother-in-law loves them too.

The gorgeous paper came with the kit. There is gold foiling on the frames of the images so I added gold and purple mats and layers.

This is a small picture of a Harebell.

This is the Harebell Fairy she is very pretty. The paintings of the flower fairies were done in the 1920's by Cicely Mary Barker.

The sentiment was cut with a a Spellbinders die I do like the font.

I was very pleased with how this card turned out. There are lots of elements left in the kit so I will be making some more cards and other things.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Thinking of You

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you had a good weekend and are ready for the week ahead. We popped over to the New Forest  to drop off the dress I had bought for the wedding as it needed a small repair. Being earlier than we expected we just had a coffee in a rather nice pub. After that we headed into Southampton for a rather successful shopping trip followed by lunch. It was a very productive day. On Sunday I spent some time making more flowers for the wedding of course.

I was asked to make a card for a man that had a nasty road accident. The person who asked me to make the card had stayed with him until the ambulance came. I decided to use one of the owl images and papers that came with Making Cards Magazine last month.

I have made a card with this set of papers and images before and it has proved rather popular as it has been sat on my shelf especially with the person who asked me to make the card.

The owl is lovely and just a bit quirky.

I used dies I had won in a competition for the sentiment.

I have enjoyed using these images and papers from Making Cards Magazine.

Have a great week.

Creative Artist - Canvas

Hi My Crafty  Blog Friends

It is Friday the weekend has arrived. We have a fun day planned tomorrow. Our daughter and her fiancé will be visiting as it is my birthday on Monday and that is the best day for use to get together. We will be starting off with hat shopping for a wedding in July.

My Design team makes have been nicely spread out this month. Last month three of them came together on the same day. Being the first Friday of the month the new challenge starts on the Creative Artiste challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes.

We have a sponsor Maja Design the prize will be a pack sent out from the sponsor.

I have made something I have never made before - a canvas.

I quite enjoyed making it in the end. I used lots of things from my stash that I haven't used before. This is quite a small canvas it measures 6" x 8". First I covered it with Gesso and then a layer of tissue paper to get some texture going. I found some spray inks in my stash and I had fun spraying the tissue paper. Once this was dry I used texture paste and masks to create some more texture. Once everything was dry I went through my crafts bits stash and added bits and bobs to the canvas.

The butterfly was created with a Sizzix die and stamp set.

The flower was made with the Sizzix Bigz die Tattered Florals. I love how those dies can cut fabric.

The birds are from Marianne dies,

This bird started out white.

More of the Tattered Florals. The bunting was created with a Tattered Lace die and the die cuts were left over from another project.

I did enjoying making this canvas. Next time I will have a bit more idea of what to do.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Happy Crafting

Creative Artiste - April Anything goes

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I do hope that you have had a very good day. This is the last post from me you will be pleased to know. Our day didn't work out as we thought it might we were at the hospital a lot longer than we expected. So we went to Port Solent for a meal and then we saw the Eddie the Eagle film which I can thoroughly recommend.

The new challenge starts today on the Creative Artiste Challenge Blog and the theme is Anything Goes with a twist to use chipboard, stencils or flowers the sponsor is The Dusty Attic an Australian company who produce laser cut creations and embellishments.

I decided to decorate a journal cover. I write a journal everyday I have been doing it for about 26 years. Just recently I realised that it was much nicer to buy plain journals and decorate them myself.

The background was created from Kraft card using the Faux Leather technique there is a tutorial showing how to do this at the top of my blog.

The flowers were made with my Sizzix Bigz Tattered Florals die I used felt and leather to create them. I added leaves cut from paper with the Faux Quilled Leaves die set.

There was a space on the cover and I wasn't sure how to fill it and them I remembered my butterfly dies I cut one from brown card and used gold gilding wax on it.

I am looking forward to writing in this journal. This is the last post from me for today. I am going for a lay down in a dark room. Enjoy the weekend. Take care.

Poppy meets Sparkle pens

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How has your weekend been so far. As predicted we have mostly been making thing for our niece's wedding which is next week on Easter Saturday. It all took a lot longer than I thought and we still have one quite long job to finish tomorrow. I will photograph everything and blog it after the wedding. Everything is very nicely themed.

I made this card for my Mother-in-law's birthday she loves poppies. To be honest I wanted another chance to play with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens and I thought this Penny Black stamp would be a good choice.

I made the the frame with some Sue Wilson noble dies.

The image was stamped in black archival ink and coloured with my sparkle pens. I did use a brush and some water to move the colour around.

I use the dining room table for everything this is what it looked like when I was writing my Easter cards. All the cards that I can give by hand get a small chocolate bunny.

I am sure my Mother-in-law will love this card. I think poppies are her favourite flower.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Take care.

Delightful Digi's Field Mouse Journal Cover

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? It is nearly the weekend. We have a trip to the theatre tonight and a trip to London tomorrow to celebrate our daughter's birthday. So we are going to be busy. I do hope the weather is kind.

You might have noticed the new sparkly Design Team badge at the side of my blog. Yesterday it was announced that  I am now a member of the Delightful Digi's Design Team and today I am sharing my first make using one of their images and a backing paper. There is a blog where you can buy the images that you see just click on the picture below.

Everyday I write a diary, I have been doing it for years and years. I decided to buy a journal with a blank cover to decorate myself as decorated journal are expensive to buy.  Well it has been sat on my craft desk for ages waiting. Today was the day that it got decorated.

It is an A5 journal with a craft card cover. I used the Delightful Digi's Green Quilt from the O- Sew-Sweet Collection for the background. The green of the quilt matched the green of the matting layers I had used. The way the journal opens meant that I couldn't cover the strip at the side, rather than leaving it plain I decided to put a length of lace there.

For the main image I used the super cute  Field Mouse also from the O-Sew-Sweet Collection. He was coloured with Promarkers I must say he was lovely to colour quite therapeutic . I added buttons again as they went with the sewing/stitching theme. I might really be cured now. Though phobias are never rational it might be because the buttons I am using are new that I can cope.

I cut the sentiment with a Spellbinders die.

This was cut with another Spellbinder die.

I am rather pleased with the end result and I will enjoy filling it in. I will certainly be on the lookout for more blank journals to cover.

I forgot to mention that there is also a  Delightful Digi's Facebook Group that you can join to see what the design team have made and share makes of your own. Don't forget to visit the blog there are some beautiful images there.

I hope you all have a brilliant weekend. I am hoping to do some crafting on Sunday. I do need to finish the wedding invitations.

Happy Crafting

New Home Birdy

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How has your week been so far? I can't believe it is Thursday already. Where does the time go?

Today I am sharing another card that I have made using the paper and toppers from the June Issue of Making Cards magazine. I just love the cute bird images.

This started with a 7" x 7" white card blank. I used some Centura Pearl royal blue card to go between the mats of the papers from the magazine. I liked how there was some gingham in the image that matched the gingham paper. The ribbon came from my stash. Did you noticed I have used buttons again? Maybe I am cured of my phobia.

The images in the magazine are so bright, cheerful and cute. I decided to make it into a new home card it could just as easily be a birthday card. I cut the sentiment with some Britannia word dies.

This was quite a quick card to make it was so lovely to have papers to hand that matched the image so well.

I hope the rest of the week is kind to you.

Tiger, Tiger

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How has your week been so far? I have been busy with this and that but I have been a bit unfocused. We did have a meeting with one of the happy couples I am making the invites for. This means these should be able to finish these soon.

I wanted to make something today and I took a look at the Cardz 4 Guyz blog and they have a new challenge and this one is World Wildlife. I remembered some Kanban  wildlife stamps that I bought a few weeks ago so I thought I would have a go.  I would also like to enter Pixie's Snippets Playground week 177  as I used lots of snippets to make this card.

I chose to use the cute little tiger stamp. The background I had made with Distress Ink on my Gelli Plate  I used a mask to get the pattern.

I stamped the tiger with Sepia Archival ink and heat embossed it with a clear powder. Then the tiger was coloured with my Promarkers.  I used my Spellbinders matting dies to cut out the tiger and the mats.

I used the Happy Birthday stamp again I do like how it works with the dies.

The other patterned papers were from my snippets box. Did you spot that I used buttons again? Maybe I am getting better.

I hope the rest of the week is kind to you.

Happy Crafting
