Not Just Cards Challenge blog - November Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I am half way through my second week of invigilating. It is a privilege to be working. I also get to see my best friends every day she is in charge when we are invigilating.

The new challenge has just started at the Not Just Cards Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes.

The background is from an old card. It was just to good to waste.

Our challenges are lots of fun. Click on the logo and you will be taken to the blog.

This is the Renmore die set from the John Next Door range. The sentiment was cut with a Crafter's Companion die.

This card was for my son-in-law's father who just loves cars.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Happy Crafting

Pussy Cat themed easel Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? I hope you had something nice to do. We went into Southampton on Saturday morning. We had coffee and cake vouchers for John Lewis and it would have been rude not to use them. We also returned to the Pre-Raphaelite exhibition at the Art Gallery which finishes soon. Sunday was a quiet day of catching up.

On Friday I had a bit of a difficult day. I didn't realise how tired invigilating had made me last week. With a free afternoon on Friday I tried to craft and nothing worked. I did get rather fed up. On Saturday afternoon  I took a bit of time out to craft and I was much happier with the results. Here is one of the cards that I made.

This year lots of people have given me their old cards to recycle. I go through them and sort out the cards I can use. I came across a card with a group of cats on. My mother-in-law loves cats and I thought the image would make a nice card for her.

This is a happy group of cats all dressed up and ready for the cold.

I used the sentiment cut with a die from the Happy Snowflakes die set and this became the stopper for the easel part of the card.

The trees were cut with the Winter Trees die set from Creative Expressions. The little cat die came with the Crafter's Companion Advent Calendar. I like the design on this part of the card so much I might adapt it into a card on it's own.

I was pleased with this card. I think my mother-in-law will love it. I will make a separate card for my father-in-law.

Have a great week. I will be invigilating again this week.

Robin Twisted Easel Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend and are ready for the week ahead. This is the start of two weeks of mock exams at the local secondary school and I am invigilating most days.

I joined in with a challenge in the  Facebook group Crafty Army with Carley (Duff). We were split into three teams and the challenge was to make easel cards. I was thrilled to be picked as of the  winners for my group. Here is my card.

I do't often make easel cards since I found my uncle displaying one of its side. I do like making easel cards though. I will have to make sure that I send this twisted easel to a fellow crafter  who will know how to display it.

This fabulous robin was from an old Christmas card. I added a snowflake border to the top and the bottom of the image.

This is the snowflake border it is a die I bought in the Works last week they still had some.

This is the John Next Door Happy Christmas die from the Happy Snowflakes die set. Mounted in this way it made the stopper for the easel.

The paper I used was from my stash. I was very pleased with how this card turned out and thrilled to have won the challenge.

Recycled Nativity Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Friends and Visitors

How is your weekend going? Today we plan to catch up on jobs in the house and garden.  Then in the evening we are going to our local theatre for a comedy show. It should be fun. Tomorrow we will be visiting my parents and hopefully popping in to see my husband's parents. We had so much to sort out last time we visited my parents  didn't make it to see the in-laws.

I have been reusing old Christmas cards again. This is quite a simple make but I do like the look of this card.

I found some paper and gold mirror card that matched the original card.

The card had an inner image and the manger image closed over it. I decided to put the manger image on some foam pads to raise it off the background. The sentiment was there already that is one good thing about old cards..

I do enjoy reusing old cards. Most of my makes this year are large the postage is going to be expensive.

Upcycled Snowy Christmas card.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week. I have been busy. I keep having to write lists to keep track of what I need to do. I am looking forward to the weekend. We are hoping to get some Christmas shopping done at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth. We have some vouchers for Cafe Rouge that need using up soon and the closest outlet to us is there.

Yes I have been reusing old Christmas cards again. This time I found I had two of the same design.

The background it the entire Christmas card.

As I had two of the same card I thought I would photograph the before and after. I do love reusing old Christmas cards.

I used the Deer family dies from Creative Expressions. They were cut once in Kraft card and once in black to create a shadow.

I like how the members of the family face each other.

Everything is better when you add deer.  Have a great weekend.

Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge - theme Christmas Animals

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends,

How is your week going? We have already got to Thursday. Yesterday I went into Southampton and I met my husband, who had taken a half day leave. The Christmas market is in full swing and we did a bit of Christmas shopping. Today I am going out with a friend for coffee. It will be nice to have a chance to catch up with her.

The new challenge starts today on the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge blog and the theme is Christmas Animals.

The background is another old Christmas card. I hunted through a big pile of old cards to find a suitable one for the background. Around the edge of the card I put some Ice Stickles.

I used the Deer family die set from Creative Expressions.

This card should be nice and flat for posting that should please my husband.

Enjoy your day.

Sparkly Santa

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? There is a lot going on at work and there is a lot going on at home. We are very busy at the moment. There is wedding prep, Christmas prep and preparing for the rabbits to go home at the weekend.

I haven't posted for a while how many Christmas cards I have made so far. In fact I haven't been counting much lately but I did the other day and there were 105 that should be plenty and I know our daughter wants some and that should be fine too.

I started with some white glitter card and some blue card and ribbon.

The image was from an old Christmas card this Santa is covered in glitter. I love the cute robin in his hat.

This is the Sue Wilson Happy Christmas die cut in red mirror card. That die has been so useful this year.

Well this is another one for the box. Not long and we will be writing and posting them.

Happy Crafting

Sail Away Male Birthday Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How has your week been so far? We  have reached what some people refer to as Hump Day half way through the working week. When this post is published I will be on my way on a school trip heading towards Arlesford in Hampshire where the children will learn about the countryside. I hope we don't get any rain today.

When my husband asked for a birthday card for a male colleague earlier this week I realised just how few male cards I have in my stash. So I thought I'd better start making some.

I have been given a large collection of used cards on the off chance I might be able to make a card of my own from some of them. This card took two. The first card I cut down for the background. I used lots of layers to make the card more interesting.

This is one of the wooden stamps from my collection.

This boat came from another card. I have used this image before when my Father-in-law was 90 he got eight cards with this boat on them. Interestingly the pop-up box card I made for him is still on display.

I made this card to go in my box of cards so next time my husband asks for a card there will be more for him to choose from.

I would like to enter Challenge 121 at Cardz 4 Guyz

Happy Crafting.
