Memory Box Owl Birthday Card

I was lucky enough to be give a stash of card that I raided for this card. The owl came from the Memory Box set Heart Owl Tree. I just used the owl and cut it out many times in lots of different card. I found some scripted paper in my stash and cut out the backgrounds for the owls. I ink with distress inks rusty hings and walnut stain. I tend to blend my inks to get the colour I want. I used red tape, pinflair gel glue and Aleene's turbo tacky glue to stick it all together. The card blank was made with a piece of A3 centura pearl card. The finished card is 8 x 8 inch. I have plans to make some smaller cards with this design.

Thanks for looking.

Birthday Card made with a Crafter's Companion Kit

The kit was so pretty, it was hard choosing where to start. I needed a birthday card and this is what I came up with. The kit did all the hard work for me I just had to add some ribbon and some die cut blue butterflies. I wanted a square card ( have you spotted my obsession?) so I cut the paper and hid the join with the ribbon I didn't want to miss out on any of those gorgeous flowers.  The finished dimension of the card is 8 x 8 inch.

Wedding Anniversary Cards two different colourways.

The golden wedding anniversary card was a commission the other I made for my husband. I love the gold corner dies by Spellbinders they deboss as well as emboss and they cut out cleanly as they have a outer cutting die. The central die is from the Ornate Squares set also by Spellbinders. The sets go together well as they both feature piercing. All the card is centura pearl I just love the colours and the sheen. The golden wedding card has the center panel embossed through a mask I didn't do this with the blue one. I'm not sure which is better. The words and numbers are Britannia dies I really have stopped using peel offs since I discovered these dies. Finally it is all finished off with faded denim distress ink. I stuck it altogether with red sticky tape and Aleene's Turbo Tacky glue.

Thank you  for having a look at my cards.

Valentine's Day Card ( a bit late).

I made this for my husband so I didn't want it to be too girly.  I love putting colours together so there is lots of matting and layering going on.  I often use Centura Pearl card as I love the sheen that it gives. Black card helps to make a project more dramatic and a bit more manly. The white Centura Pearl card is embossed with a 6 x  Embossalicious  embossing folder (they fit thorough my Big Shot) the edge is inked with Red Berries Distress ink. The hearts are cut in two pieces from a Spellbinders Die d-lite. First I cut the background and covered it with a double sided sticky sheet and then I used Indigo blue gilding flakes to make it shine. The filigree  design was cut from red card to match the card blank. I used red sticky tape and Aleene's Turbo tacky glue to stick it all together. the sentiment is one I had in my stash that I have wanted an excuse to use for a while. The final touch was to use Tulip beads in a bottle to put the pearls in the corner.

Thanks for taking a look.

Birdcage and Birds Birthday Card

Here is a card I made for a friend at work who likes the cards I make with birds on them.

The finished card is 6 x 6. I used Centura Pearl card for the background that I inked with  Faded Jeans  and Peacock Feathers Distress ink. I stamped a Clarity Stamp Birdcage and then I embossed it using a Special touch mask. The cage is a Spellbinder die and the birds and leaves are Marianne dies. I punched the flowers with a Martha Stewart punch. The centres of the flowers and the corner pearls are made with Beads in a Bottle by Tulip. It is all stuck together with Aleene's Turbo Tacky glue.

I'm still learning about blogging. I will get better at this.

Welcome to my Blog

This is all new to me so it is going to take me a while to get used to things. I plan to use this space to share crafty projects I have made and tips to go along with them. I wonder where this journey will end up.
