Thank You Cards - Fresh Cut Dies and Designer Papers - Claritystamp

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is you week going? We have some lovely weather and we have been able to meet up with friends and family. We have seen our daughter and son-in-law for the first time in ages. The nice weather certainly helps.

We have been given a few Easter gifts. I decided I needed some thank you cards. I had just received a thank you die from Claritystamp and it seemed like a good time to try it out.

I started with a black die cut. I found a pale designer paper to go behind the die cut. Then I cut the die again in silver to get the stars. I found a different designer paper and some card stock to finish off the card.

Here is a purple version made in much the same way.

I kept looking the waste leftover from cutting the stars from the silver die cut. I realised that the sentiment could we cut from the waste. Here it is laid over the purple die cut.

Here are all four of them together. I think I might make a few more.

Enjoy the rest of the week. We have a busy few days coming up.

Happy Crafting

Yellow Roses of Friendship

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? The weather was nice for our walk on Saturday. Today we are meeting friends at Mottisfont a National Trust property with a lovely garden near where we live. Later in the week we are meeting with our daughter and son-in-law and having a walk with them and their dog. It is going to be a busy week.

I have been using the  Clarity Stamp Fresh Cut die the Art Nouveau Eden Roses Aperture die again.

I do love the Claritystamp Designer papers. They do seem to work very well with the dies.

This die is gorgeous. It cuts into the card so you can make the frame any size you want. I put some a double sided sticky sheet onto some Designer paper. The black die cut was attached. Then I cu the die a few more times so I could paper piece the design. The remaining sticky was covered with Microbeads. I feel they add to the stained glass look of the card.

Here are some of the blooms on our Magnolia tree which is out now in all its glory.

This is the whole tree. We have lived in our house for over twenty years. This year we found out that you can eat the petals. Who knew? To be honest we haven't tried.

March Rudolph Days Challenge - Winter Scene Bauble

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? It is hard to believe that we have been in lockdown for a whole year. We are carrying on much the same. I have started working in the garden again. I am pretty sure we will be around to look after any plants again this year. My phone is starting to play up so I think an upgrade might be on the cards when we can go shopping again.

I love joining in with the Rudolph Days Challenge that runs every month up to December. It starts on 25th of the month and runs until the end of the month. This challenge keeps me on track with my Christmas cards.

Ever nice I bought the Sam's Circles die set from the John Next Door range I have been wanting to see if it works with the Round Bauble die set. Well this week I got around to giving it a go.

I do like making these little winter scenes. I added the holly from the Christmas Time die set. I just used a plain circle die to make the moon.

I think this works well. I am hoping to make a few more cards like this.

Pollyanna Pickering Barn Owl with a Snippets Background

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We went on a couple of longer walks and we did a bit in the garden.  Not much longer and we will be able to meet with 6 people outside. I am so looking forward to meeting up with our daughter and son-in-law and their new dog and having a walk together.

I have been sorting through some of my craft supplies. It is not surprising that I came across lots of Snippets of paper to use up. I used some of the ones from Creative World of Crafts papers to make the background for this card. I do get a obsessed with an idea especially when it means using things up.

This is how the topper comes from a pad. I just made it a black mat. I do love images from Pollyanna Pickering. That Barn Owl is so cute. She did leave a wonderful legacy.

I am often asked for cards with owls on them by someone who runs a Brownie pack. It is good to have a few in hand. The sentiment can be added later when I know what occasion the card will be used for.

Have a good week.

Cute Easter Bunnies Easter Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week. We are super excited our coffee machine is coming back today. According to the tracking it should be here before lunchtime. Oh boy have we missed that machine.  I will let you know how we get on.

I have made a few Easter cards this year. I was going through my files and I found this cute bunny image that I thought would be nice to colour and that is what I did. Now I can't remember whose image it is.

I used Snippets of green and yellow patterned paper to make the background. I do like making these backgrounds.

I wish I could remember whose image this is to give them credit. I coloured the cute bunnies with my Faber Castell Polychromo Pencils. I do find the colouring very relaxing.

This is a sweet little card. I did enjoy making it.

Panoramic Vista Aperture - Clarity Fresh Cut die

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We popped out to a local National Trust property yesterday. It is so lovely to have somewhere different to walk. We even had time for a take away coffee. On the matter of crafting I am working on something that will be revealed later in the year. I have never done anything like it before it is rather exciting.

Last Friday I had a good day making cards. Here is another one that I made with Fresh Cut dies and Designer paper all from Claritystamp.

What more do you need a gorgeous die and some designer paper.

This die is called Panoramic Vista Aperture die.

This will be another card for the sale in August.

Art Nouveau Eden Roses - from Clarity Fresh Cut dies

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope that you had a good day yesterday. I know it is a day that will not have been easy for some for lots of different reasons. This year more than most more of us will have been separated from the ones we love. I must admit I cried when I received a beautiful bunch of flowers from our daughter. Then on the day itself we spent two and half hours on the phone. We really do miss seeing each other. But if we keep being sensible and getting our vaccines there maybe a way out of this.

On Friday I made a few cards. Here is one of them.

All this card needed was the Art Nouveau Eden Roses Aperture Clarity Fresh Cut die and some Clarity Designer paper.

This die is gorgeous and easy to paper piece. I took a piece of pale designer paper and put a double sided sticky sheet over it. I cut a piece of black card to cut the die and leave a frame around in. Once cut I placed the die cut over the sticky sheet. Then I cut the die again in red white and green and stuck the pieces I wanted to the sticky sheet. The rest of the sticky was covered with micro beads.

I am trying to make a few cards that I think might sell at the Open Studios event in August. Also I don't like buying things that I don't use. This is the first outing for this die. I want to make a card with yellow roses on it.

Have  a good week. We have a trip to a National Trust property booked which should be nice.

First Ever Groovi Parchment Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? We  had our vaccines last Wednesday and we had slight side effects which not unexpected. I know a lot of people who have suffered much more than we did. I do hope this is all worth it. We are looking forward to being able to meet up with our families and friends again soon.

I decided to join in with the Tuesday Groovi sessions with Paul Church on the Clarity Stamp Facebook page. If I hadn't done these sessions I wouldn't have attempted to do this.

I do love snowdrops. I bought the Groovi plate because I like them so much. We have managed to grow some in our garden this year. I used Designer parchment for this card. The frame was made with one of the plated that come with the Groovi starter kit. I have the mini started set.  The parchment was fixed in place with a corner punch.

So there you have it my first Groovi card. I know it is basic and I have a lot to learn.
This post is significant in another way. Our old laptop is failing and before Christmas we bought a new one. The only thing is the program I used to edit my photos is no longer available. On Tuesday I figured out which program to use on the new laptop. One of my lovely friend's made me a few watermarks that I can use on my cards. The significance is that the whole of this blog post was created on the new laptop. I will move over permanently some time soon.

Pretty Floral Easter Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We have had some nice weather. Today isn't so nice. Today is also vaccination day for us. This afternoon we will be heading off to the vaccination centre. We were lucky and managed to get appointments together.

I have been making Easter cards. The Mother's Day cards I have made are in the post.

I just love the Small Flower die and the Small leaves die from the John Next Door range. I used card for the flowers that I had coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. They are no good for colouring anymore but the ink in them makes gorgeous papers. The leaves were cut with paper I found in my Snippets stash.

This sentiment was made with some of the Stencil Sentiments die set from the John Next Door range. I think I heard John say that some more words and phrases are coming in this style.

There you have it a pretty floral Easter card. I think I have all my Easter cards made now. I really ought to make some more Christmas cards. This is the first blog post I have completed on our new laptop. I am taking quite a while to get used to it. A friend helped my out by making me some watermarks.

Enjoy the rest of the week

John Next Door - Deco Butterflies Day 3

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We managed to get out for some walks and get a few jobs in the garden done.

This is my last post for the Deco Butterfly dies from the John Next Door range. This project deserves its own blog post.

I made a box and decorated it with the butterflies and lots of other dies. I used my scoring board to make the box.

Here is the top of the box. I used some lattice corner dies. Also the Small Flower die and the Small Leaves die. All the dies are used are from the John Next Door range.

This is what I put in the box. They are felted soaps. The wool fibres sink to fit the soap. The soap is used as normal and the lather comes through the wool. The felt works a mild exfoliator. I made bands for the soap using the Deco word dies. I have wanted to try felting soaps for a while now.

I also made divisions for the box so that the soaps fitted. This was all inspired by a gift I received.

On Hochanda you could see this box on the counter. On Wednesday this week we are getting our first vaccine. I do hope this all helps.

John Next Door - Deco Butterflies Day 2

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

The weekend is here. Today is the day the John Lockwood is releasing his new Deco Butterfly dies. Here are some more of my makes this time featuring the smaller Butterfly dies.

First up is a tag made with the John Next Door Luggage Tag die set. I do like making tags from time to time and these dies make nice big tags.

Here is one of the butterflies nestled among the flowers and leaves.

This is a DL card. I cut the aperture with circle dies from my collection.

The Deco Butterflies are very  pretty. They work in all sorts of colours.

For this DL card I used the butterfly silhouettes with the Poppy Head dies.

Finally another DL card with the butterflies and the Poppy Head dies. I do love those sentiments that come with the butterflies. I have a feeling the dies and stamps in this collection won't last long. I will share my last make with these dies on Monday.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

John Next Door - Deco Butterflies Day 1

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? We have been okay. One sad thing is that our coffee machine has had to go back to be repaired. It is strange being without it. We bought if right at the beginning of lockdown and there isn't a day when it hasn't been used. I am missing my coffee. Oh well there are obviously bigger problems. Hopefully we will get it back soon.

As you know I am one of John Next Door's Angels. I always wanted to be an Angel. On Saturday there is a release of the the Deco Butterfly dies. Here are two of my makes that feature the larger butterfly set.

The new dies are the big butterfly and the Dream. I used lots of John Next Door older dies to make this card. The background behind the lattice is inky kitchen roll stuck onto card.

Isn't that butterfly magnificent. I did a little paper piecing you really could do a lot more.

I used the Tatty Daisy die for the flower the centres were made with the Cornflower die set. I did ink the middle of the daisies before adding the stamen die cuts and a pearl.

I do love these sentiments. This one was cut twice to give a drop shadow.

I don't make many things like this but the butterflies look lovely on a wall plaque. I made the background myself with inks and then I stamped over the top of the ink when it was dry.

Those butterflies are glorious.

Here is one last look at the card. I will be back tomorrow with some more makes. If you are on Facebook there is a group called Crafting with John Next Door and Crafts-Too. It is a private group so you have to ask to join. All the makes from John and the other Angels will be there. All the Facebook lives happen there as well. Click HERE to visit the page.

Have a good weekend.

Cute Owl with a Snippets Background

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? Here is a little card to cheer you up. We are all booked for our Covid vaccine. We got the letter on yesterday and we booked later in the day when some more appointments had become available. The next one is booked as well. I do hope all this helps.

I have been enjoying colouring. It does seem to help with my stress levels. When I have to deal with things to do with my parent's  care a session of colouring really helps calm me down. I had my snippets out for another project. I hunted through to find papers that would go with this cute owl.

This cute little owl is from the You're A Hoot digital stamp set from Beccy's Place it is available HERE  This image set is on sale, it is a good price and it won't be around for long. The branch and the butterfly were drawn by me. I wanted him to have something to look at and to sit on. The whole thing was coloured with my Faber Castell Polychromo pencils. The frame was made with a Spellbinders die. I cut it twice once in black and once in gold. This helped the frame to stand out from the background.

I will pop a sentiment onto this card when I know who it will be sent to. I have been asked to have a stall at a Hampshire Open Studios event in the summer. I had better get making somethings to put on the stall.
