Crafty Catz Challenge Blog - Anything Goes with the optional theme of Clean and Simple (CAS)

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

I am back again this time for the new weekly challenge on the Crafty Catz Challlenge blog I was asked if I would like to stay on and I said yes. This time the sponsor is Sasayaki Glitter Digital Stamps and the optional theme is Clean and Simple. We were given some lovely images to work with.

I went for green layers and for the image because I remembered that I had some patterned paper with green balloons on it in my stash. When I got the paper out it wasn't the right colour.

There are some beautiful images in the store if you click on the image you should be taken there.

This image is called Happy Birthday Mia and is available HERE. I printed her onto card and coloured her with my Promarkers.

This is my Crafter's Companion die I use it a lot it is a good size. You can see the embossing folder in the background.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Sixtieth Birthday card for my cricket mad Brother-in-law

Good Morning

How is your week going? I am keeping busy. One positive thing is that I don't seem to be having as many headaches. They have been the bane of my life for a long time.

Very soon my brother-in-law will be Sixty. He has invited us to the  party he is having to celebrate, which should be fun. I decided it would be rather nice to make him a card. He loves cricket and supporting Aldershot Town Football club.

The image came from an old card it is a rather large image. The colours are Aldershot Town Football club colours. I used the Twinkle, Twinkle embossing folder from Creative Expressions to emboss some white card that I then inked with Distress ink. I also used that very useful ribbon was from my stash.

I trimmed the image as much as I could. The original had rounded corners so I decided to carry this on. When you use old cards they often have sentiments so you don't have to try and fit one on.

I love using Alphabet dies it is so easy to personalise things. Bob was cut with a die set that I bought from Crafter's Companion.

The bunting was cut with a Tattered Lace die.

This is an X-cut die set.

This is a large card nearly A4 in size but it is a special birthday.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Take care.

Unicorn Challenge Blog - theme Perfectly Pink

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How has your week started? I hope everything is well with you and your family. I am slowly sorting out the room the bunnies used and then we can move back in all the things that are stored in there.

The new challenge starts on the Unicorn Challenge blog and the theme this time is Perfectly Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Well what do you do when you have hexagons left over? You make a card with them of course. The ribbon was in my stash and I only just had enough. I wanted to make a DL card.

The flamingos came from the bonus papers from an older issue of Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine. All the other papers were in my stash of bits and pieces.

The Hexagon dies came from an issue of Crafter's Companion Inspiration magazine.

The heart die came in a set from Creative Expressions.

The sentiment was cut with a Tattered Lace die.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog - October Challenge

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

Happy Sunday and welcome to October. It is proper Autumn now. The bunnies went home yesterday.  Now I just have the room to clear.

The new challenge starts on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog and the theme is Anything Goes and this time the sponsor is Rick St Dennis. I was able to choose an image from the fabulous store to use for my card. The prize it two images from the store for the winner.

I found the dark snowflake paper in my stash. I used rich gold and reds for the mats and layers.

There are many wonderful images in the store to suit all tastes. If you click on the image you should be taken to the store.

This image is called Angel Wreath and it is on sale here.  I printed it onto to card and I coloured it with my Promarkers. I cut is out with my ScanNcut as like how you can leave a border round the image. If I did this by hand it would not be even.

Now I had coloured the image and I thought it needed a message in the centre. I would not have attempted this without my Tim Holtz's Stamping platform because I could put the stamp exactly where I wanted it and if I missed a bit it was easy to restamp. I am finding the platform such a useful tool. Finally I sprayed the whole image with Spray and Sparkle.

Now I did start with a smaller image but I decided to go larger for my main card. Well you know I don't like anything to go to waste I made a smaller card with the off cuts from the bigger cards. I had to use a different stamp for the sentiment the other one didn't fit.

Here they are together. They will both sent out this Christmas. My husband even remarked that he liked the bigger card and usually he doesn't say anything unless asked directly.

Crafty Catz Challenge blog - Anything Goes with the optional challenge of using the colours Blue, Green and Brown

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

Happy Friday the gateway to the weekend. I hope that you have something nice planned. The bunnies will be collected this weekend and then I can get their room really clean and then  it can become a store room again.

Today the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of using the colours Blue, Green and Brown. This was the theme of the very first challenge eight years ago. The sponsor this time is Di's Digi Stamps. The Design Team used their own images for this challenge.

I wanted to use the colours of the optional challenge. I started with a Kraft card blank and built up the layers with shades of blue, green and brown.

There are lots of cute images in the store if you click on the logo you should be taken to the online store.

The flower is the main stamp in the Birthday Blooms set from Stampin Up it was stamped onto water colour paper with archival ink and then coloured with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. The outer die cut was made with the Umbria die from the Italian Collection.

The tone of the card seemed right for a Thinking of You sentiment.

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend. Take care.

Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge Blog - Geometric Shapes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

Where is the time going it is Thursday already. Today I am having lunch with a friend to celebrate her birthday. I hope you have something nice planned.

The new challenge starts on the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge blog and the theme for the next fortnight is Geometric shapes.

I used some of the bonus papers I had printed for a card for Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine. I didn't have quite enough for the background of the card so I reprinted one of the patterns and made it bigger to fit the card.

I cut the papers with some hexagon dies that came with one of the Crafter's Companion Inspiration Magazines. I do love the flamingos.

The sentiment came from the bonus papers to. It was cut out with one of the Double Pierced Rectangle dies from Creative Expressions.

Yesterday I helped my friend (she is in the middle) as she led a felting workshop. The ladies all made four coasters and a flower to make a brooch. I got to bring home a poppy I had helped to make. When it is finished I will share a photo of it with you. I have some other dates lined up to help it is lots of fun.

I was quite pleased with how this tropical themed card turned out. I do like using hexagons on cards.

Enjoy the rest of the week.
