Happy Birthday

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? I hope you aren't being too badly affected by the cold. I am getting used to being home on my own now my husband has gone back to work. So in my afternoons off I have been able to catch up on some of my crafting.

I was asked by a friend to make a card for her friend who is going to have a special birthday soon. I did find it a bit hard to get started.

This is the design I came up with. The first thing I decided to do was to make a frame with my Sue Wilson Pierced Square dies. I used three of the dies and embossed them first then I removed the middle die and did the cutting. I think it makes a rather nice larger frame and all pierced. I am hoping to treat myself to Set B so that my layers can be thinner. I found the pretty backing paper in my stash.

I added a Sue Wilson butterfly in the corner.

The flowers were made with a Spellbinder die set. The leaves are Faux Quilled Leaves by Sue Wilson.

The Happy Birthday was cut with a Memory box die. Once cut I sprayed it with a spray glue and then covered it with glitter.

I gave this to my friend yesterday and she was very pleased with it and she has plenty of time to send it to her friend. It is an 8" x 8" card so it will go on a large letter stamp.

I hope the rest of the week is kind to you.

Happy Crafting

Hugs Jackie

This is gorgeous, Jackie, loving all the details and my fave colour Lilac/purple...I've had a rotten couple of weeks what with the boiler packing up and having to cope with a couple of electric heaters from our letting agent, especially with this cold weather, car had to go into the garage for major repairs, then our sky box went on the blink, now it's my turn as loaded with a viral infection.... this year can only get better lol !!!
