Christmas Rose Christmas card.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your weekend going?  We have had quite quiet weekend so far. Yesterday we sorted out our passport applications which we did online with our own photos. When we came to send off our old passports we had to send them to different offices. My husband's is on the way to Durham and mine is off to Glasgow. Today it is more work in the garden and a meal out with friends in the evening. Altogether a nice weekend.

A while back I made this card for a competition. I didn't come anywhere but I thought I would share it when I found a photo of  it going through my files.

I found the backing paper in my stash and it has Christmas Roses on it.

This is a Creative Expressions die cut twice to create a shadow.

The robin was cut with a Tattered Lace die that came free with a magazine. He is sitting on a spray made with the Holley Spray die set and Festive Bough dies set both from Creative Expressions.

I had the the Christmas Rose die set from Creative Expressions last year but I only started using it this year it is so pretty.

I was quite pleased with how this turned out. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge Blog - Anything Goes with the optional twist of Sparkle and Shine

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

Well it is Friday again. The weeks certainly do rush by. I hope you have something nice planned for the weekend. We will probably be working in the garden again on Saturday and on Sunday we are having a meal with friends. I do hope that we will be able to fit in a bit more Christmas shopping.

Being Friday the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz Weekly challenge blog and this week the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of Sparkle and Shine. The sponsor this time is the rather fabulous Polkadoodles.

I cut some silver glitter card to make the base layer. I did cut a frame for the aperture but you can't see that anymore. The wreath was cut with the Festive Bough die set from Creative Expressions.

There are many wonderful images in the store if you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This image is Winnie White Christmas printables Feeding the Birds and she is available HERE. She was coloured with Promarkers and I added some Wink of Stella to the white to make it sparkle.

This is a Tattered Lace Robin die that came with one of their magazines. He was die cut in white and coloured with Promarkers. I did spray him and the bough wreath with Spray and Sparkle to make them shiny.

Have a great weekend.

Emerald City Crafts Challenge Blog - Challenge 5

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

I will start with an apology. I will be posting twice today. Two of the Design Teams I am on coincide today. It happens once a month. I know I made a statement about not blogging so much and I don't seem to be sticking to it.  Design team commitments often come at the start of the month.

Back to business. The new challenge starts today on the Emerald City Crafts Challenge blog it is our fifth challenge and the theme is always Anything Goes.

Linda has many wonderful things on her website. If you click on the logo you will be taken there.

I used a collection of Creative Expressions dies to make an embellishment that reflected the flower spray from the image.

This is a stamp from IndigoBlu. I was really lucky and picked it up in a sale for 50p.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. We might be going to the NEC craft show on Sunday I won a ticket just one and there is all the travel and parking costs to think about.

Happy Crafting.

Crafty Catz Challenge Blog - Anything Goes with the optional twist of use some ribbon

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is nearly here. I hope you have something nice planned. Today I will be popping up to our newly refurbished Co-op as apparently they will be giving out Prosecco. On Saturday we will be visiting our daughter and son-in-law to discuss holiday plans and on Sunday we are having some old friends round for lunch.

Being Friday the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of use some ribbon. The sponsor is Crafty Ribbons.

We are also on the look out for Guest Design Team members for November. If you are interested please put GDT after your name on your entry. We would love you to join us.

When I went to Ally Pally I saw a demo using weaving dies. I thought I ought to be able to do that with ribbon.

They have some wonderful ribbon click on the logo and you will be taken to the store.

I stuck the backing paper to the top mat and then with a Spellbinders bauble die I cut an aperture. I used red line tape on the back of the aperture to hold the ribbon in place. I only peeled back the backing on the tape as I need it. I laid strips of the green ribbon down first it is double sided do I alternated the colours. The I took the gingham ribbon and wove it in between the green. When I had finished I stuck a square of card over the back of the ribbon to hold it in place. I stuck pearls round the edge of the aperture.

To decorate the top I cut the Festive Bough and Holly Spray dies from Creative Expressions. I used Berry Red Pearl PVA to  create the berries on the holly.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Father's Day Card Number Three

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. I wonder what you will be doing. We are going back to the shop where I got my outfit for the wedding as the dress needs a tiny repair. The shop is in the New Forest so we are planning to have a nice lunch in one of the lovely pubs over there. Then it will be back to the house for more wedding makes.

I have made the last Father's Day card that I need for this year. This one will be for my dad. He always likes birds coming to visit in the garden especially the cheeky robins.

I decided to use another Pollyanna Pickering image from the pack I bought recently. I used the textured brick card from my stash and inked it with Distress Ink. I surrounded the image with die cuts to match the foliage in the painting. I used the following dies designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions: Ivy Leaves, Laurel Leaves and the twigs from the Festive Bough set.

I think this image would also make a rather nice new home card.

This die is from the Signature Collection by Joanna Sheen I have used it a lot.

I hope you enjoy your weekend.

Holly Christmas

Hi Bloggers

I have been busy at work this week and I haven't had much time to be crafty. So I am going to share a Christmas card I made a couple of weeks ago with you today.

This card measure 7" x 7". I used a Sue Wilson embossing folder, Sue Wilson dies and stamps to create this card. I do like the holly and John Lockwood has used the same die to make a gorgeous wreath. There is a link to his blog at the side of my blog. The bauble was made with a Spellbinders die that had a matching stamp. The sentiment was one that came with the Festive Wreath set by Sam Poole.

This a close up showing the stamp that matches the Classic Poinsettia die  isn't it pretty?

This shows the holly die and the branches that come with Pine Bough die. The berries were made with CS Berry Red Pearl PVA glue.

I hope the rest of the week goes well for you. I am hoping to get some crafting done over the next couple of days. Then I will be back to share.

Happy Crafting
