Unicorn Challenge Blog - Favourite Time of Year

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends,

I hope you are having a great week and that everything is going to plan for you. We had a lovely time at Beatles Day in Hastings on Sunday they raised £22,500 for Macmillan. Then we came back slowly and stopped in Chichester for a very nice meal with friends and a spot of shopping. My husband goes back to work tomorrow but I still have the rest of the week off from school. I am hoping to catch up on lots of my crafty makes.

The Unicorn Challenge blog starts its new challenge today and the theme is "Your Favourite Time of Year". If you pop over to the blog you can see all the Design Team makes and they have all explained what they like about the time of year they have chosen.

I love Spring it is all the bright fresh flowers that come at that time of year after the dark Winter months. This is one of the cards that was on Hochanda a few weeks ago. I bought the Primrose stamps designed by John Lockwood because I love Spring flowers so much. To me Spring is all about yellow and green. 

There is a choice of sentiments for this for the heart. I did decoupage the flowers on the heart. All the flowers were coloured with my Promarkers. I did use the Heart of Heart die to cut a mat for the heart. This die set is proving to be very useful.

Fantasy Stampers - In the Springtime

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a great weekend. It is Easter Sunday tomorrow it has come round so fast this year. Today is the day of the wedding. We will be setting off soon. All the things I made were dropped off yesterday. I am taking a little repair kit with me just in case, you never know what might happen.

The new challenge starts today on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blog and the theme is In the Spring Time.

This is one of the cards that I sent to John Lockwood for him to have for his shows on Hochanda on 20th and 21st March. I sent him five cards and a tag. You could see them at the back of the set and one of the cards and the tag were shown properly. 

I used the Primrose Elements and the Primrose Hearts Everyday Sentiments stamp sets designed by John Lockwood for Creative Expressions. The background was created with a resist technique. 

I used the Sue Wilson Heart of Hearts die to create the mat for the beautiful heart. I do love Primroses that is why I was drawn to these stamps. 

I did enjoy seeing my cards on Hocanda. I need to thank John Lockwood for this wonderful opportunity.  The stamps are lovely to work with.

Daffodils in the Spring

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. Have you got any crafty plans. I am hoping that we will be making my craft storage that was delivered yesterday. When it is constructed I can have a huge sort out.

This is the time for a new challenge on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blog this time the theme is Spring is in the Air. Nothing says Spring to me more than seeing daffodils in bloom.

I used the Heartfelt Creations set HCPC 3359 Daffy Daffodils. The background was created by stamping the border stamp with 

perfect Medium and heat embossing it with CS fine detail embossing powder.

I inked over the daffodil heads with distress ink the embossing resisted the ink leaving the daffodil heads in white. 

A row of daffodils. They were stamped in Sepia Adirondack ink and  head embossed with CS fine detail embossed. They were coloured with Promarkers.

The sentiment stamp was a Clarity stamp and cut out with a Spellbinder die.
