Underwater with the Fishes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a busy day on Saturday and on Sunday we had a quiet day at home. I have been making lots of things that I can't share yet and there are exciting things in the pipeline. So I might not be blogging as much. I don't expect anyone will mind. I also have one week of invigilating left.

A little while ago I had a play with my underwater dies. Here is the result.

I think the backing paper was leftover from another project. I do like making thinner cards from time to time.

The fish were cut with off cuts of designer paper. I had to raid my scraps of green paper bag for the seaweed.

I added the happy birthday later. I often leave my cards on display. Sometimes when I look at them I can see what might need to be added it is also a way to check that nothing drops off the card.

This is another card for my stash.

Have a good week

Proud Puffin

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week. The weather has been very strange. One day we had snow and sun at the same time. We have managed to get out for walks and to do a bit of gardening. Our beautiful magnolia does create a lot of work. This year we have a bumper crop of petals that need clearing up before they go slimy.

On Wednesday I came across an image of a puffin. I decided to make it into a card.

I used my nautical paper pad that I got from The Works some time ago. I can't believe shops are going to be open again next week. What a strange year we have all had.

I think he came from a National Trust book. Doesn't he look fantastic? I would love to see some puffins in the wild. One time when we were staying in Torquay they had a beachside Avery(it is no longer there). We had a lovely visit and they had a group of puffins that you could even see swimming under the water.

I felt that the bottom of the card could do with some added detail. So I cut some of my seaweed dies.

There is even a bit of room to add a sentiment when I know who this card will be going to.

Have a great weekend.
We are hoping to see our daughter and son-in-law again.

Happy Crafting

Under the Sea with the Fishes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you doing?  I wonder what will be announced on Sunday. We are still plodding along. I am growing lots of things in the garden. Some of them we will be able to eat. The people over the road have started selling eggs which is nice. They have got ten chickens which was a real surprise for us.

A little while ago I treated myself to Issue 64 of Die-Cutting Essentials magazine. I really like the look of the Under the Sea die set that came with that issue.

Yesterday I had a chance to play and this is what I made.

This quite a small card and I really did raid my scraps pile to make it. I used leftovers of two of my inky backgrounds.

I only used the die set to make this little under water scene. The little fish are so cute.

This will be another card for my stash. I am sure someone will like to receive this card.

I hope you have a good day. I think there are lots of online celebrations to join in with.

Always Fun Challenges - the theme is Summer Fun

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend and are ready for the week ahead. We spent most of the weekend clearing the ivy from our garage roof. Our neighbours are away which means we can attack the ivy from their side. We did say to them that we would be doing this.

Being Monday the new challenge starts  at Always Fun Challenges the theme this time is Summer Fun.

I used one of my inky kitchen roll backgrounds on this card.

The stamp I used  was  one I won from Creative Expressions some time ago. I stamped with Archival ink onto water colour card then I coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.

The shells were cut with a set that I bought last year when I spent the day with our daughter while her fiance and my husband went on a stag do. She bought them as a treat for me.

I will add a sentiment to this card when I decide who it is going to be sent to.
