Christmas Frame - Santa and his Sleigh

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you had a good weekend. Both me and my husband have been suffering with sore throats and coughs which seem to be worse at night. During the day it doesn't stop you doing much. On Saturday we ordered a cooker to replace our part broken one. We also made a start on our Christmas shopping, at last. On Sunday we worked in the garden there is a lot to clear up after the drive being done. In the evening we went to Christmas choir practice. It is nice to do something a bit different. Unfortunately today I have woken up with a bad headache which is making it a bit hard to get going.

I went to a craft day at the end of October and one of the things we made was a Christmas frame. Using the Stampin Up Santa's Sleigh stamp set with the matching dies. The frame itself came from the well known Scandinavian store.

We made most of the frame design at the workshop. I did tweek it a bit when I got home. Isn't it hard photographing shiny surfaces?

I added a Santa that I made with the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp set with the matching punch. He was coloured with Promarkers.

This wonderful sleigh was made with the dies at the craft day. I added the presents later.

Reindeers stamped and cut out with the dies. I was given the stamps in the craft day goody bag but I couldn't justify buying the dies,  now I am not working. I do like sets that match, so that was a hard decision to make.

My friend was struggling to fill a stall at a Christmas Craft sale and I offered a few items, one of which was the frame, to help her out. You can see it on display in the window It is my first try at trying to sell some things.

I hope you have a good week. There is so much I want to do I hope this headache goes.

Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge Blog - Sponsor Time for Tea Designs - Optional theme No Patterned Papers

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

Happy Friday the gateway to the weekend. I can't believe how quickly the weeks are going there always seems to be so much to do. We really must make a start on Christmas present shopping but there are a lot of jobs to do in the house. I have lost my voice which is making things a little tricky.

Being Friday the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge blog this time the sponsor is Time for Tea Designs the theme is Anything Goes and the optional twist is No Patterned Papers.

I started with a black card blank, I used my Double Pierced square dies to make the mats and layers. The final layer was embossed with a holly pattern A4 embossing folder.  The snowflake die came free with a magazine last year.
There are many wonderful images in the store if you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This cute image is called Santa Baby and she can be purchased HERE She was coloured with Promarkers.

I found this cute little sentiment in my stash it was just the right colour.

Have a great weekend.

Quick Cards Made Easy magazine issue 172 Bonus Papers

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? It is lovely and sunny here today and I have been helping at another felting workshop. I know enough about it now that I can actually help people. I will be helping at another workshop on Friday.

A little while back I responded to a request on Facebook for people to apply to be on the Readers's Design team for issue 172 of Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine. I was one of ten selected I printed off the papers, made a card and sent it in. I was thrilled to see my card in print on page 40 when I bought the magazine today.

The card has to be square and not measure more than 15cm x 15cm. I started with a Craft Card blank. I used coloured card that matched the papers to make the mats and layers. The dotty paper I used to make a snowflake border with Sue Wilson's Snowflake border die.

There are various sentiments to use that come with the bonus papers.

I just love the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp set from Stampin Up that comes with a matching punch. Now I have a stamping platform I stamped lots of these and I have used them on a few project. The bow is in the set too. Isn't great that depending where you put the bow they look like a boy or a girl.

I have a Sizzix candy cane die. I inked the edges so they they showed up against the background.

Here it is in all its glory in the magazine.

I did like these paper a lot and the free gift is some pop-up box cards with cute characters I will definitely be making those.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Unicorn Challenge Blog - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going?

The last challenge of 2017 starts on the Unicorn Challenge Blog today and the theme is  Anything Goes. The Design Team will be having a break in December and will be back raring to go on the first Tuesday of January. So let's make this last  challenge  of 2017 go with a bang.

Back in the summer I was asked to make a wedding card by the girl who comes to the house to  give me Sport's Massages. The colour choice was pink, cream and gold.

The paper was in my stash and I just had to use the pink lace.

I used the Creative Expressions Heart of Hearts die set to create the hearts. The Mr and Mrs die is from Crafter's Companion.

The bunting die is one from Tattered Lace.

The Congratulations die is a Tattered Lace die too.

We had a lovely time at the NEC. Unfortunately on the way there we were subjected to some road rage. A man got out of his car and swore at my husband and banged on the window. He had taken objection to my husband changing lanes though there was space and he had signalled. Fortunately the man got into his car and drove away.

We had a lovely long chat with John Lockwood and he made us a Christmas card that he signed. I was taking the selfie so I look a bit strange. I wanted my husband in the picture as he gets on well with John too.

I won the ticket to go to the NEC from Jenny Mayes Facebook page. We went to the Hobby Art  stand to say thank and the hand over a little gift and a card.

I was rather pleased with how this wedding card turned out.

Crafty Catz Challenge Blog - Anything Goes with the optional twist of Beartastic- Sponsor Melonheadz

Hello again My Crafty Blog Friends

I am back again. I do hope that you have a wonderful weekend. As usual we will have a busy weekend ahead of us.

Just now the new challenge has started on the Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge blog the sponsor this time is Melonheadz and the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of Beartastic that means to feature a bear in your make. This time the Design Team used their own images.

I started by creating a background with Distress Oxides. I do love the chalky finish these give,

There is lots of inspiration on the website and a link to the shop if you click on the logo you will be taken there.

I have had this image for some while it is from Morgan's Art World and is called Ted it is still available HERE. The image was coloured with Promarkers.

The flowers I found in my stash and they were white. I sprayed them with ink to change the colour,   a lot of mess was made.

This is a really useful Tattered Lace die. This time all the dies I used were from Tattered Lace.

I was rather pleased with how this card turned out.

I would like to enter challenge 22 at Morgan's ArtWorld.

Have a great weekend.

Emerald City Crafts Challenge Blog - Challenge 5

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

I will start with an apology. I will be posting twice today. Two of the Design Teams I am on coincide today. It happens once a month. I know I made a statement about not blogging so much and I don't seem to be sticking to it.  Design team commitments often come at the start of the month.

Back to business. The new challenge starts today on the Emerald City Crafts Challenge blog it is our fifth challenge and the theme is always Anything Goes.

Linda has many wonderful things on her website. If you click on the logo you will be taken there.

I used a collection of Creative Expressions dies to make an embellishment that reflected the flower spray from the image.

This is a stamp from IndigoBlu. I was really lucky and picked it up in a sale for 50p.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. We might be going to the NEC craft show on Sunday I won a ticket just one and there is all the travel and parking costs to think about.

Happy Crafting.
