Cardz 4 Guyz Jungle Fun

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a good week. I am on still on  Easter holidays from school and I am having so much fun.

This is my Guest Design Team piece for Cardz 4 Guyz the theme is Jungle Fun this new challenge starts today. When I think of fun and jungles I always think of monkeys.

I started by working out how to make the tunnel card. I had a few attempts using my Hougie board for the scoring. Eventually I worked out the design then I cut an aperture in the front of the card.

This shows the folds the back panel was separate. I decorated this first by inking a sun masking it and then inking with some stronger colours. I used a mask to create the branch and another to create the grass.

I added some die cut leaves and ivy.

The cheeky monkeys were stamped in black archival and then heat embossed with clear powder. They were coloured with Promarkers,

I think a man would like this card. My father-in-law always likes a shaped card he loves trying to work out how they are made.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

A Wedding Card for P and K

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a fantastic weekend. We have been very busy, today finds us at the 16th annual  Beatles Day at the White  Rock theatre in Hastings. It is an event that raises money for the Macmillan Charity. There are lots of different acts performing Beatles songs all day long and ending, of course, with Hey Jude. It is a good day especially if you are a Beatles fan.

Today  also sees the start of Scribble and Scrap Challenge 42 the challenges are always anything goes and there is a prize. This is my Design Team piece for inspiration.

One of my work colleagues asked me if I would make some tags to attach to table decorations for her son's wedding at the end of the Easter holidays. I  agreed  and she collected them earlier this week. I decided to make a card for the happy couple using the colours from the tags I had been asked to make.

I have made a few cards with a similar design I like the combination of hearts and initials. They always turn our slightly differently.

I kept checking the details I had been give I was so worried about putting the wrong initials on the card.

If I get any good photos of Beatles Day I will post a few.

Don't forget to join in with the Scribble and Scrap Challenge you might win a prize.

CAS - Happy Birthday

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope that you have had a good week. This post is being scheduled as when it goes live I will be on my way to the Big Stamping and Scrapbooking show at Ally Pally. This is my favourite show of the year there are so many people there that I admire.

This is my Design Team card for the Fantasy Stampers Challenge  34 - Clean and Simple. I actually found this quite a hard card to make I do have such inky fingers.

There isn't much in the way of instructions. I used just one stamp. The hard bit was keeping ink off the rest of the card.

The image was stamped with Cobalt Archival and then heat embossed with clear powder. I coloured the balloons with Promarkers. I had some gems that matched the colours of the balloons.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend. I will post pictures of Ally Pally if I get any good ones.

I thought I would share a picture of our Magnolia tree. It looks fantastic for about two weeks each year as long as it isn't windy.

Lovebirds Engagement Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How are you all getting on? I am enjoying the lovely weather we are having. There are two lots of washing out drying on the line. I just love  it when the weather is fine enough to do this. I also noticed that we have a Blue-tit nesting in one of our nest boxes.

Yesterday I heard some good news that one of my work colleagues has just got engaged (isn't Facebook wonderful?).  I made a quick card for her and her fiance.

I have had the Clarity Lovebird stamp for a while and it leapt to mind when I started to think about this card. When I was looking through my Clarity folder I spotted the Lady's Mantle stamp.

I stamped the birds first with black Archival and heat emobossed them with a sparkly black embossing powder. The birds were coloured with Promarkers. Round the edge I stamped the Clarity Lady's Mantle stamp with Seedless Preservers Distress ink and then heat embossed  with a clear powder. The birds were covered with a circle mask and I used three shades of Distress ink to ink over the page. Finally I added some blue distress ink  round the birds. I matted the  piece onto a dark blue mat. The finished card is 6" x 6".

I don't usually make cards like this but I was quite pleased with how this one turned out. I think I will be having a go again soon. I kept thinking about how I could change the design.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Super Hero - Cardz 4 Guyz GDT

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I am sorry I have been quiet it has been a very busy weekend busy and fun. I hope that you had fun too and that you had a lovely Easter.

As you can see from the title of this blog post I am the Guest Designer on the Challenge Blog Cardz 4 Guyz. It is a weekly challenge and there is a theme for each week. This week the theme is Superhero. I took my inspiration from the shield of Captain America.

This was a fun card to make. I started with the background I stamped the background with CS Perfect Medium and then heat embossed it with white and silver embossing powder. Once this was done I inked over the surface with two shades of blue Distress Ink.

I made the shields with various dies and a star punch.

I used a Visible Image stamp for the sentiment.

I was pleased with how this one turned out. People who have seen this card have reconised that it is Captain America's shield. I don't think I have infringed any copyrights here.

Have a great week. Why not join in the challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz it is lots of fun.

I would like to join in with Pixie's Snippets Playground - Week 171.

White Rabbit

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

We are getting closer to Easter and I still have two days at work to go, school doesn't finish until Thursday. How are your Easter plans going?

I made this card for my cousin's daughter who is appearing in a youth production of Alice in Wonderland. We are going up to Suffolk to see the show on Saturday but I have posted the card as I wanted her to get it for the first one of the run.

I ordered some Visible Image stamps recently and this one just popped into my basket it was so right for what I wanted. I started with a 7" x 7" black card blank. I made the background by stamping the Tick Tock stamp that came with the rabbit with CS Perfect Medium and heat embossing it with white detail powder. Then I took the believe from the free set of Visible Image  stamps that came with Craft Stamper magazine last Christmas this was heat embossed with gold powder. The ribbon came from my stash.

The white rabbit was stamped with CS Perfect medium and then heat embossed with a black sparkly embossing powder. I coloured him with Promarkers and I inked round him with Distress ink the image was protected  with a mask while this was done. Glossy Accents was used on the clock face. I love using Glossy Accents and creating my own embellishments.

I hope she likes the card. We are looking forward to seeing the show and catching up with some of our family at the same time. After we will drive all the way home so that we can have Easter Sunday with our daughter and her boyfriend.

We are quite busy over the Easter holiday I fear my little blog will be a bit neglected. So I will take this opportunity  to wish you all a very Happy Easter.

Gorjuss Birthday card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a fantastic weekend. We are having a quiet day today after all the excitement of shopping yesterday. I am pleased to announce that our daughter got a very smart interview outfit. We remembered to change the clocks, did you?

This is my Design Team card for the Scribble and Scrap Challenge Blog. The challenges are always anything goes so why not join us for some fun and there is a small prize.

Since having a tidy up of my crafty stash I  have rediscovered all my Gorjuss images and decoupage sheets. My daughter has two lovely rabbits and I think this will make a wonderful card for her.

This image was from one of the  decoupage sheets I found. I like using gel glue to make up decoupage as I feel you can shape the pieces more effectively.

The butterflies were made with one of Sue Wilson's dies. I added butterflies to the design as the backing paper has beautiful butterflies all over it.

The heart was die cut  from the backing paper and covered with  CS Glossy Accents to make it into an embellishment. All the buttons I used were from the Gorjuss range.

Sentiment was cut with a Signature die but is was cut to make it less fancy and to fit the space.

I hope you have a wonderful day and that you  get some time to craft.
