Christmas in June!

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you have had a good week and are ready for the weekend. We are going to the craft show in Portsmouth on Sunday it should be fun.

I am sharing one of the few Christmas cards that I have managed to make this year. I thought I would had loads made by now there just hasn't been time. I have made two lots of Christmas cards for Tattered Lace that I will share when the dies are released.

I have been recycling cards from last year again. That is where the image and sentiment came from. The original card was much bigger than my card. I used a circle die to cut our the image.

I used a snowflake embossing folder for the background. I used gilding wax to highlight the embossing.

I do like this sentiment it was part of the original card I cut it out with one of my dies.

Just  a quick post I have a lot of catching up to do.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Take care

Birthday Blooms for You

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? It has been quite sunny here which has been nice for a change. It was just a bit too hot for Sports Day yesterday but that is behind us now.

I wanted to make a card for a friend that is going through a hard time at the moment.

I made the frame for the image with some of my Noble dies by Sue Wilson. I do like the piercing that you get with this set.

This has to be my favourite flower stamp it comes from the Birthday Blooms set by Stampin Up. It was stamped with black archival onto watercolour card this meant that I was able to colour it with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens and some water and a watercolour brush. Now can you see the dots in the background? That is another stamp from the set. I used two shades of Distress ink to stamp round the flower. Then I used a translucent mica powder to dust over the dots. I have to admit I had never done this before and now I am not sure why not the mica clung to the distress ink and I was left with a lovely sheen.

I liked it so much I did the same with the sentiment that also came with the Birthday Blooms stamp set.

I really enjoyed making this card I used so many of my favourite things to make it.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Unicorn Challenge Blog - Inspired by a Nursery Rhyme or Fairy Tale

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? We are all back at work after our week off. It isn't long now until the school summer holidays.  We have just booked ourselves a holiday and it was a bargain. It needed to be what with a wedding to plan.

The first Tuesday of the month see the start of a new challenge on the Unicorn Challenge blog this will be our tenth challenge. The theme is to be inspired by a Nursery Rhyme or a Fairy Tale. My image comes from a children's story which is permissible too. He is the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland with his great big clock.

All the stamps I used are from Visible Image a small company based in Wales. To create the background I stamped the clock stamps with Perfect Medium and heat embossed them with a black sparkly embossing powder. Then I inked over the page with some Distress Inks. Finally I sprayed water all over the page and blotted it dry with some paper towel this tones down the colour.

The White Rabbit was stamped with black archival ink onto water colour card and he was coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. I covered the clock and the eye of the rabit with Glossy Accents. I stamped a separate clock and cut it out and that is also covered with Glossy Accents. The frame for the image was made with some of Sue Wilson's dies.

The sentiment also comes from Visible Image I love the quirky font.

The ribbon was in my stash. I enjoyed making this card they are fantastic stamps to use.

Enjoy the rest of the week., I am hoping to get some crafting done.

Take care.

Fantasy Stamper - Man's Best Friend

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Welcome to the weekend. We are back from our little trip away the washing is sorted and we have lots of jobs to catch up on before we go back to work on Monday but lets not think about that now. The weekend is here to enjoy.

The new challenge starts today on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blog and the theme is Man's Best Friend.

I used my Double Pierced Square dies by Sue Wilson to create all the mats and layers. I have had the paw print paper in my stash for ages.

I used the Crafter's Companion Everyday with Barkley No.1 set. The image and the words came from the same set. I coloured Barkley with my Promarkers he is so cute.

I had to cut the stamps from the sheet and then line them up carefully on my block before stamping.

This card will be given my husband some time he used to have dogs when he was young.

I would like to enter the June Challenge at the Crafty Calendar Blog

If you check back tomorrow on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge blog the winners of the last challenge will be posted.

Creative Artiste - Heart Wall Hanging

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you have had a good week and are ready for the weekend. Today we will be travelling back from our short break. I hope that the traffic is kind to us.

Being the first Friday of the month there is a new challenge starting on the Creative Artiste Challenge blog and the theme this time is Anything Goes. Our sponsor this time is Foilplay.

I decided to decorate a small heart wall hanging. I started by painting the heart with white Gesso. I gave it a couple of hearts. When it was dry I used some decoupage glue to attach some tissue paper. I attached it as one piece and I was so pleased that I had used the Gesso on the wood as it really showed up the design on the tissue paper. I sanded the edges of the shape to remove the excess tissue.

As I said at the top of this post Foilplay is the sponsor this month if you click on the logo you will be taken to their store. It is worth checking out they stock a lot of well known brands.

I used a Dreamees stamp for the sentiment I stamped it in read to match the ribbon (which came with the heart). I cut it out with the centre die from one of my Sue Wilson die sets. All the flowers I had in my stash it was nice to have a project to use them on I attached them with a gell glue. The final touch was to add some lace around the edge of the heart.

Here is the heart in place hanging in my lounge. I was really pleased with how this turned out and I enjoyed making it.

Tattered Lace - Victorian Swirl Embossing Folder and other dies.

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? We are still in Colchester. Today we went into Tiptree to visit the jam factory there my Facebook friends will know that we found the coffee shop. There was also a museum and a shop we even bought some presents for people. We finished the day looking round Colchester itself.

A few weeks back I was sent the Victorian Swirl Embossing folder,  the Flower Vase and the Fancy Card label Victorian Swirl die set to make samples for Tattered Lace for shows that will be screened today on Create and Craft TV.

This is all the samples I sent in. I rather liked the embossing folder so I made quite a few samples. Altogether I sent in five cards, two tags, a book mark and a gift bag.

I think the Victorian Swirl embossing folder is a very elegant folder and it lends itself to being cut up to make different designs. I cut an A4 sheet of card at 16 cm length ways and this fitted just right in the embossing folder. I embossed several pieces of card then I cut them into three along the score lines and I mixed and matched the colours.

The decoration on this gift bag is very simple but I think very stylish.

This was the first card I made. I had a commission wedding card that I had been struggling with. The colours for the wedding are the same as this card so once I had sent my samples in I used the embossing folder to make the card I had been putting off. The recipient was thrilled when I gave it to her.

You can see the detail of the embossing folder in the background of this gate fold card. The dies in the middle are from the Fancy Card Label Victorian Swirl die set.

A simple tag made with the embossing folder.

I decided to make a bookmark with some of the leftovers from the embossing folder.

I got this flower vase die as well. If you look carefully you can see the embossing folder in the background.

I did like this die set I enjoyed playing around with the different layers.

With the flower vase die it was so easy to remove the vase I knew I had to make a card with just the flowers. I cut the flowers out of white card and I coloured the flowers with my Promarkers.  I used the centre of the Fancy label die set for the sentiment.

Here this the whole flower vase on a tag.

I did enjoy making these samples.
Today we are off to visit some family in Suffolk.

Crafts Galore Encore - Kenny K images Anything Goes

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? We are having a few days away. We are staying in a lovely hotel it has some very nice grounds and a swimming pool. It is just right for a few days away.

The first day of the month means the start of a new challenge on Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog the theme this time is Anything Goes.

The fireworks bursts were cut from the arms of cheerleaders using a Tattered Lace die in my vast collection. It did feel a bit weird cutting off the arms from the cheerleaders.

The Sponsor this month is Kenny K Stamps I was lucky enough to be able to work with one of his fabulous images. I chose the gorgeous image Graduation Girl.  If you click on the logo you should get taken to the Kenny K store.

I coloured her with Promarkers and I decoupaged the hand and scroll.

The Congratulations was cut with one of my Tattered Lace dies.

I hope you join in with our challenge it is Anything Goes which is  just ideal.

Enjoy the rest of the week.
