Snippets Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We seem to be quite busy. Today my hubby is going to cricket for the first time. We live near to the Aegeus Bowl the home of Hampshire Cricket. He is going with friends. I hope he has a good time. I on the other hand will be having coffee with friends. It should be a nice day for both of us.

At the moment I don't have any deadlines looming so yesterday I made some Christmas cards.  I am so behind on Christmas card making this year.

The background was made with Snippets of patterned paper. There were so many lying around on my desk they were just asking to be used.

This is an old card. I cut the card and it's mount with my Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions. I made the Candi for the corners with my Limited Edition Mandala die from the John Next Door range.

I had two of the  old cards so I was able to make two new cards.

Cute Hedgehogs posting a Christmas card in the Snow

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? It was so wet and windy yesterday. We had a Eat Out to Help Out meal with our friends yesterday. We booked it early on and it was hard to get a booking. In the end we booked for a very late lunch. It was a very nice meal though. Today I am visiting the lady who is opening her house and garden as part of the Hampshire Open Studios event. She is allowing me to have a table of cards. We will sorting out the final details.

I have been practising  my colouring again. I do like using my pencils and I find that I can colour much smaller images which in turn means the cards I make don't have to be so large. This is much better for postage.

The backing paper came from my stash. I added a couple of snowflakes cut with Sue Wilson's dies.

This image is from Di's Digis but it doesn't appear to be in the shop anymore. I coloured those cute Hedgehogs with my Faber-Castell Polychromo Colouing pencils. The mats and layers were cut with the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions.

This is a a super cute card. I will save this one for my cousin and her partner as they both love seeing the hedgehogs in their garden.

Winter Wonderland Challenge Blog - June Challenge - Christmas Decorations and a Design Team Call

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? There is a lot going on in the world out there. We haven't really changed what we are doing. Though this weekend we are going to see the house that our daughter and son-in-law are in the process of buying. We will be outside at all times and at a safe distance of course. It will be nice to see the house. Everything is progressing well with their move.

The new challenge starts today at the the Winter Wonderland Challenge Blog and the theme is Christmas Decorations. The sponsor of the challenge is the fantastic Beccy Muir from Beccy's Place.  We are also having a Design Team call details are on the blog.

I have a close association with Beccy being one of her blog contributors. This meant that I had a few images that I could use on my card. The trouble was they were all so lovely it was hard to choose.

I found a gift bag which had a fantastic pattern on it. I cut it up and used this for the mat behind the image. I added a tartan and gold ribbon as well.

There are so many wonderful images and word sets in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This is the Golden Bell Digital image set and it is available HERE.  I used the precoloured image and a sentiment that came with the set. I placed them onto a background I had made on the computer. I cut the image and it's mats with the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions.

I have made 60 Christmas cards now. That is not bad when we are nearly half way through the year. I wonder how things will be when we get to Christmas.

I hope you have a good weekend.

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge 76 - June 2020 - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I am back again, I have  two blog posts today. Well it is the first of the month and lots of challenges are starting. I can't really believe we have got to June we have had such a strange year.

Here is my Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog card. Challenge 76 has started the theme is Anything Goes. Our fabulous sponsor is Polkadoodles and there is a prize. So it is worth entering.

The first thing I did was to colour the image. Then I found some packing with a pattern I liked that suited the image. I added two ribbons to the design. I liked the way they looked together.

There are so many wonderful images in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

I used the Earlie Hedgehog Dandelion - Fuzzypuffs digi stamp which is available HERE. I created a background on the computer I added the image on top. I printed onto Neenah card stock and I coloured the image with Promarkers. The image and it's mats were cut with the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions.  I have made a few Feel Better cards lately.  The Banner die and the sentiment are Crafter's Companion dies.

I am sure this cute little card would cheer someone up. I do have a cousin who likes hedgehogs very much.

Winter Wonderland - February Challenge - Tribute to Eileen - Anything Christmas Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week and are ready for the weekend. I am helping with a Felting Workshop today it will be my first one of the year. On Saturday I have a whole day on my own. My hubby will be visiting some of his university friends. Then on Sunday I am going with  my friends  to London. The plan is to meet my hubby there. We are booked to see Strictly Live at the O2. I am looking forward to it.

The new challenge has started at the Winter Wonderland Challenge blog. This is a special challenge as it is a tribute to Eileen the original owner of the challenge. She passed away in 2017. The sponsor for this special event is SheepSki Designs and the theme is Anything Christmas Goes.

When I printed the image I printed a patterned sheet for the background on the same sheet. I always fill a sheet when I am printing.

There are many wonderful images in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

Here is a picture Eileen she is sadly missed.

This is image is called Snowboardin' image 164 and it is available HERE. I printed onto Neenah card stock and the image is coloured with Promarkers.

This snowflake border die came from The Works last year. It has proved to very useful.

The Merry Christmas was cut from the waste from the centre strip in the design. The die I used is from Crafter's Companion.

On a slightly sad note. I have been forced to turn on comment moderation. I seem to be getting a deluge of spam comments at the moment. I am sure I am not the only one. They seem to be after free advertising and I don't want to help them.

Leafy Swirl Aperture Clarity Fresh Cut Die - Two Birthday Cards

Hello my Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a great weekend and are ready for the week ahead. We had a busy weekend but thankfully no hospital visits. On Sunday we had a lovely day at Marwell Zoo, near Winchester, with our daughter and son-in-law. There have made many improvements since we were last there and we had fun finding the Lego dinosaurs that were scattered around the park.

I was very lucky and for my birthday I received the Leafy Swirl Aperture Fresh Cut die from Claritystamp. The friend who showed me how to use the waste from Fresh Cut dies gave me the die.

This is the die cut from the aperture die I used the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions to give it a border. I stuck it to a double sided sticky sheet, cut to size, and covered it with gilding flakes. Using gilding flakes this way is a lot easier than using glue.

This is the card using the waste. The trick is to remove the die cut and to keep the waste pieces in place in the die. Some did pop out and I replaced them Then with another sticky sheet I placed it over the die to pick up the pieces. Once this was done I used Gilding flakes again.

I do like how you can get the positive and the negative of the image. The Happy Birthday die I used on both is from Crafter's Companion.

Here they are together. I had no definite plans for them it is just good to have birthday cards available when I need them.

Butterfly Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I hope you haven't been too badly affected by Storm Gareth. Interestingly the next storm will be called Hannah. There was a list of names on the BBC news site. I am having a quiet week which means there is a lot of time to craft. This is great because it gives me a chance to catch up before it all gets busy again.

I was recently very lucky and a won a die set during Holley's month long celebration of 9 nines years since her successful brain surgery. Holley's blog can be visited  here http://holleybarnhartsblog.blogspot.com/
Every year in the month of February Holley gets lots sponsors and she is able to offer  many prizes around the world. I was thrilled when my prize arrived through the post.

I had a bit of a tidy up recently and I found a stack of foiled card like the one I have used here.

I won this wonderful butterfly die. The butterfly cuts beautifully and it has a die for a mat under the detail.  I used some paper that I had decorated using the shaving foam technique. I used the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions to cut the mats for the butterfly.

I used a Creative Expressions die to create the sentiment. It was cut in purple and some more of the shaving foam paper.

Thanks again to Holley for my fabulous prize. I made this card for one of my husband's work colleagues who is having a special birthday soon. I have also made a card  for the whole team to sign.

Enjoy the rest of the week

Winter Wonderland Challenge blog - theme Fuzzy Wuzzy Christmas

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Today there will be two posts from me. I am only on four challenge design teams now and today two of them coincide.

The new challenge starts today at the Winter Wonderland Challenge blog the sponsor is Sheepski Designs and the theme is Fuzzy Wuzzy Christmas. This means  create something that is furry, frizzy, fluffy, puffy or fuzzy wuzzy!! Think furry animals, fluffy hats or mitts, puffy coats, frizzy beards (like Santa's).  Have fun with this one.

I cut a frame for the image with the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions. I do use these basic shape dies a lot. The backing paper was in my stash.

There are many wonderful images in our sponsors store click on the logo and you will be taken there.

The image I used is called Mindy and is available HERE, I printed the image onto Neenah card stock and it was coloured with Promakers. I added a Happy Christmas cut with some John Next Door dies. I do like small sentiment dies they are easier to fit on to projects.

I made a bow to go under the image with the Classice 3d Bow Die set from Creative Expressions.

Have a great weekend.

Christmas card made from Left Overs

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend. The weather was certainly kind. I had a lovely time at the Farnborough Craft show of course I spent way too much money. It was also nice to meet up with Littlelamb who kindly comments on my blog. The visits with our parents went as well as could be expected. Then on Sunday we had a nice time with our daughter and son-in-law when they took their hamster back. This week I will be mostly invigilating.

I do enjoy making Christmas cards all year round and it is good to find challenges to enter. This is my entry for the Rudolph Days Challenge that starts on 25th of each month and runs to the end of the month.

When I got near to the end of making Christmas cards last year. I had lots of bits left over like where I had cut too many things  for a project or the circles from an aperture I had cut. These are the bits I used on these cards. The mats were cut with the Double Pierced Square dies set. The paper in the background came from a magazine.

The deer from the Deer Family had been cut for another project and not used. The circles were cut with the Double Pierced Circle dies and were left over after cutting an aperture for another card. I added a glitter card line of snow and added some trees cut with the Winter Trees dies set. All the sets I have mentioned are from Creative Expressions.

I think this design worked quite well considering all the bits were leftovers. I do hate things going to waste.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year - Last minute Christmas cards.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are your preparations going? I hope you get everything done. We had a fabulous time in Brighton we visited the Pavilion, saw the Burning the Clocks parade and went up on the BA 360 tower. The main reason for being there was to see the Bootleg Beatles last Christmas concert. We were with our very good friends and staying two nights was amazing. There has a lot to organise for hosting Christmas dinner it is all coming together. We did have to pop out and get new tree lights as our old ones refused to light this year.

I did really badly with Christmas cards this year. On the last day I could craft I had to make eight cards. Next year  I really must be more organised. This is my favourite card I made that day.

I used an old card and I used the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions to make all the mats and layers.

I cut out the blue-tits from the card and made a mat for it with the Square dies.

I think I have used this sentiment die from John Next Door most this year.

This card is nice and flat for posting. I have no Christmas cards left at all this year.

I would just like to thank you f or all the visits to my blog and all the lovely comments that are left for me to read. Blogging really wouldn't be the same without you. I would like to wish you all a very

Clipart

I will be back before the end of the year with my top cards of the year.

Winter Wonderland Anything Christmas Goes Challenge

Hello my Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week and are ready for the weekend ahead. I am helping at a Felting Workshop today. It is a Christmas themed workshop and I am hoping to make an angel for our tiny Christmas tree. Of course the weekend ahead is busy.

The new challenge starts on the Winter Wonderland Challenge blog and the theme is Anything  Christmas Goes and it will run until 3rd January. The fabulous sponsor is Dr Digi's House of Stamps.

Do you remember the Hunkydory paper kit I was using earlier in the year. Well the paper I used is from that pack. I am trying really hard to get all the bits of the kit used up this year. All the mats and layers were cut with the Double Pierced Squares from Creative Expressions.

There are many wonderful and rather different images in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This happy image is called Selfie Santa and is available HERE.  I printed onto Neenah card and I coloured the image with Promarkers.

I cut the Happy Christmas die, from Creative Expressions, in white glitter card and black card so I could give it a shadow.

I added a couple of trees cut with the Winter Trees dies from Creative Expressions.

This is another card for my stash. I have sent and given out a few cards already and I think I have enough now. Have a great weekend.
