Pollyanna Pickering Kestrel Thank You card

Good Morning My Crafty Blog Friends

Happy Bank Holiday to those of you that get one today. I hope you have something nice planned. We are off to see our daughter it is her birthday on Tuesday but that is the day we travel to Liverpool. Now I am going to have a complete break no blogging, no wedding prep hopefully lots of fun. I have scheduled a post for Thursday for one of my Design Team commitments but that is it. I will do a proper catch up when we get back.

You probably all know by now that I have resigned from my school job. Now there is a team of four of us working in Year 3 and three of us are leaving. I think that says something. Anyway I want to make cards for the rest of my team to say thank you. This is the first one I made for the male teacher in the team.

The background does have texture and I now wish I had inked it.

This die was a free with a magazine it is actually flora but I have used it more with the flowers removed.

This image came from a pad of sketches by Pollyanna Pickering available from the Creative World of Cratfts.

I cut the words from the image so they could be read more easily.

That is the first thank you card I need to make two others. I have just applied for another job it is so long since I have done that.

Isobel Craft Collection - New stamps - Ladybirds

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The long weekend, for some of us,  is here. I am on half term break. It is funny to think this will be my last one after so many years. We are going to Liverpool next week for the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the release of the Sergeant Pepper's album. This weekend will be quiet for us which  will give us a chance to  catch up on Wedding Prep. There isn't long to go now.

The Isobel Craft Collection released two sets of stamps and I thought I would share a card I made with the second set - the Ladybirds.

I made the background with Distress ink. All the mats and layers were made with Sue Wilson's Double Pierced Square dies.
Here are the stamps aren't they cute.

If you click on the image you should get taken to the Facebook page. There is a link to the shop on that page and the stamps can be pre-ordered there.

I made a border with the stamps they were stamped in black archival onto water colour card and coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.

I heat embossed the sentiment.

The ribbon was in my stash.

Have a great weekend. I hope you have something nice planned.

Isobel Craft Collection - New Stamps - Gnomes

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? We have had some lovely warm weather down here in the south. I am in the process of applying for another job, something which I haven't done for 20 years, oh boy did my CV need updating.

The Isobel Craft Collection is releasing two new sets of stamps Gnomes and Ladybirds. I enjoyed making some cards to show off these new  Gnome stamps.

This is the first card I made with the stamps. I made the background with Distress ink on water colour card. This way I would use water to remove some of the colour.

The stamps are available to pre-order at The Isobel Craft Collection Facebook page

They are very cute these stamps and lots of fun.

I used masks so I could layer the images of the stamps. I coloured them with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.

This little chap is so cute.

I love the sentiment that comes in the set.

I was asked to create a Gnome trail of images of the little guys in different places. This is a root that has been dug up in our garden.

This is such a cute card. I can't wait to send it to someone.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

Nativity Christmas Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? I hope it is good. I wonder if you remember I was having a few problems at work. Well they didn't really resolve and on Monday I handed in my resignation letter, I will work until the end of term but I will not be going back in September. It does all feel a bit unreal at the moment.

I decided that I wanted to get all of my husband's cards made for the year and the last one to make was the Christmas card.

Last year I bought a Nativity die set from Crafter's Companion. I made the background with Pixie Powders and colour burst ink. I had to remover lots of the colour so I now  have paper towels covered in ink to make into more backgrounds with. The embossing folder I used is called Falling Snow  by Creative Expressions.

All the dies I used came in the set. I cut them  in black and embossed them and used some gilding wax to highlight the details.

This is a die designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

I do have some other simpler ideas for this die set.

Mosaic Owl - Woodware stamp

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. We had our meeting at Bristol Zoo for the wedding and the one hair trail for the day. So a very busy productive day including lots of food.

I treated myself to a new guillotine, a tonic one, and I am very pleased with it. I used it on this card.

The background was made with some textured card coloured with Distress ink,

I treated myself to the Mosaic Owl stamp from Woodware. It was stamped on to water colour card with black archival and coloured him with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.

This is a Crafter's Companion die cut in two shades of green.

My husband has already taken this card for one of his work colleagues.

Have a great week.

Thank You Cards

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a good week. We attended the memorial service yesterday and it was a very emotional experience. I feel so sorry for the girl's parents. I am also having a few problems at work which might have been resolved now. So not a particularly easy week.

I have been making thank you cards, probably not as quickly as I should have. Never mind they are all made now and posted or given out.

I needed to make eight of these. I was very lucky and was given the Art Deco Frame die set called Rose Dove by Apple Blossom.

This is the Thank You die set designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

I have lots of other ideas for this die set. We have a big meeting about the wedding this weekend so we are going to be a bit busy.

Kingfisher Birthday Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is you week going? This is a bit of a grim week for us tomorrow we are going to the memorial service of a young lady who was taken too soon. It is such a shame.

I recently ordered some more goodies from the Creative World of Crafts as they do the adoarable Pollyanna Pickering images.

When I saw the No Fishing sign I know I just had to use this image to make a card for our good friend who loves fishing. The papers came from a Creative World of Crafts pad.

The image is from a Sketch pad and the description was part of the image I separated them for the card.

I love using this Happy Birthday die. I cut it in gold and black so I could create a shadow.

This is a Spellbinders die I have had it for a while and I'm not sure which one it is.

I hope he likes this card and that I remember to give it to him.

Thank You

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your weekend going? I had a lovely day yesterday with my daughter. We popped out to the shops and found a shoe shop closing down sale and I even managed to get some craft bits in the Range. It was so nice being together and chatting. My husband enjoyed the Stag do and his team managed to get out of the Escape room in the time allowed.

When you have a birthday you need to make thank you cards. This is the one I made for our daughter and her fiance,  it is made from an old card.

I started with the old card I liked the big thank you so much. I made the background with a mix of Pixie Powders. All the mats and layers were cut with the Double Pierced Squares and Rectangle dies designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

This thank you is just so glorious and shiny.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Alphabet Challenge Blog - Letter E - Enchanted Creatures

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How are you all doing? I hope you have had a good week. The weekend in nearly upon us. My husband is off to our future son-in-law's stag do and on the way he is dropping me off at our daughter's so I can spend the day with her. It will be so nice to have a girly day together that hasn't happened for a long time.

We have got to letter E on the Alphabet Challenge blog and the theme is Enchanted Creatures.

I had a rummage in my crafty stash and I found this Flower Fairy sticker and the pretty floral paper with a cut border.

The bee was one of the stickers in the set.

My mother-in-law has always loved flower fairies. I made this card with her in mind.

My Crafter's Companion die set.

I think fairies are enchanted creatures so this should be right for the challenge.

I would like to enter Week 415 at the Allsorts Challenge Blog

Have a great weekend.

Moving Along with the Times - MAWTT - Butterflies

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? I have had a great week. I was thoroughly spoilt on my birthday I had lots of lovely presents and cards.

Well the new challenge starts on the Moving Along with the Times Challenge Blog (MAWTT) the new theme is Butterflies and there is a prize of a set of stamps designed by John Lockwood. So it is well worth entering.

I looked through my stash and found this cute LOTV bunny image to use and the butterfly script backing paper as well as the ribbon.

I decided the to use the beautiful Butterfly Frame  Sue Wilson die set to frame the image.

I cut the extra butterfly die from the set in pink and backed it the backing paper.

This card has no sentiment yet. I thought I would add one later when I know who the card is going to. It might make a nice engagement card.

Enjoy the rest of the week

Happy Birthday to Me

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Today is actually my birthday. So far I have been taken out to lunch by a couple of friends and this evening my husband is taking me out for a meal. So apart from having to work this morning quite a nice day.

I am sharing my first try with Foamiran. I have been seeing all the beautiful flowers on Facebook and other peoples blogs so I ordered some and it came yesterday. I still have a lot to learn.

I did start with the flowers. They took a while to make. I watched some YouTube videos to see what to do, but being me I did my own thing a bit.  I wanted to use a lattice so I found my Stitched Lattice frames set by Sue Wilson.

These flowers are my second attempt. I have thrown away my first attempt. I know they aren't like other peoples I have quite a bit to learn. The centres were made with Babies Breath silk flowers that I bought for the wedding but didn't need. That is where the leaves came from too. Part of the reason I wanted to make this type of flower is the bits and bobs I bought for the wedding but ended up not needing. Plans have evolved and changed over time.

I made a flag with the Stitched Flag dies by Sue Wilson and I used some Britannia dies to make the sentiment.

I was quite pleased with how this card turned out. I will be having another go with the foam. I got better as I went along so I want another play.

Enjoy the rest of the day.
