Poppies oh so Pretty

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week. Yesterday we went to the theatre to see Magic that goes Wrong. It was a good show. After we had a fantastic meal in a Portuguese restaurant. It was so lovely to have a  day out with our friends. I think I needed it.

I have been looking through my files and I came across some poppy cards that I hadn't shared.

I do like making backgrounds with strips of patterned papers.

These poppies are from Beccy's Place again I think they are retired.

I made a simple card as well.

I do like this card. I will send it to someone soon.

Have a good weekend.

Deer in the Forest Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have been helping Felting Workshop this morning. Tomorrow we are going to the theatre to see the show Magic that Goes Wrong. We are looking forward to it. This is one of the things that got delayed from last year. I will let you know how we get on.

I have been making Christmas cards again. Here is my latest one.

I started this card a while ago. I found all the bits on the side so I made it up. The corner dies are from one of John Next Door's Christmas releases this year. The patterned paper was in my stash.

The trees were made with an old Creative Expressions die set called Winter Trees. The Deer were made with a Sizzix die set.

I  have made about 90 cards this year and I have bought a few from a talented friend so we should  have about enough. I do want to make some special cards still.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Cute Robin Christmas card and mindful colouring

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a quiet day on Saturday were we caught up on jobs around the house. On Sunday we visited our daughter and son-in-law. It is so nice to spend time with them and their doggy.

I have been doing a lot of colouring. I do find that it helps to clear my mind. Now I have a few coloured images I have made some into cards.

The paper was from a paper pad from Hobbycraft. The die-cuts were left over on my desk. They were created with John Next Door dies and glitter card.

This is an old image from Beccy's Place the Store unfortunately this image has been retired. There are many other wonderful image sets in the store it is worth checking.

So this is another card for my stash. I have actually bought some cards this year. I don't think I am going to have time to make enough.

Have a good week.

Pretty Little card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are having a good week. We have been busy again this week. Our parents aren't doing well which means there is a lot to do for them. I am finding it so hard to find time to craft at the moment. I am doing lots of colouring every so often I make the images into cards. Here is one of them.

I have been doing a bit of sorting out and I have found lots of images that needed colouring.

The stamp is from Stampin Up and I think it is called Peony Blossom. The image was coloured with my Faber Castell Polychromo pencils. The die I used is from Crafter's Companion.

Here is another card for my stash. I usually make my cards flat for posting.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Take care

Cute Penguins on matching Christmas Cards

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a quiet one but we had lots of catching up to do. The garden is well on the way to being winter ready. The birds are enjoying the sunflower heads we have put out for them.

As you know I have had a lot of family stuff to deal with lately. One way I found to calm down was to colour with my Faber Castell Polychromo pencils. Here are some cards I made with the Two Jays small penguin stamps. I drew the backgrounds for the cards myself.

I began drawing the backgrounds and colouring these images when we were on our cruise back in September.

It is just so calming to concentrate on the colouring.

Here are the four cards together. The Christmas stash is coming on nicely.

A Set of Four Christmas Cards

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We have had a busy few day. There are still issues with the care we have set up for my in-laws. I am sure everything we get sorted out soon.

When I have been feeling like crafting I have been making Christmas cards. I find these the most restful things to make. I have done a lot of colouring lately and that helps too.

I was given some old cards that all matched. They were used to make new cards and I used up lots of off cuts of patterned papers.

There were lots of scraps left over so I made a Snippets background for one of the cards.

This was a great way to use up some things that had been hanging around my craft area for a while.

I actually think this is the first card I made. That paper is so pretty.

There we have the  four similar cards. I still have more I would like to make.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Carlin's Card Paradise - Challenge #39 Guest Designer - theme "It Flys"

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a quiet one. On Saturday we had a lovely walk around Cams Bay near Fareham in Hampshire. We hadn't been on a long walk for ages.  The route was mostly by the water. It did make a nice change. In the afternoon we spent time in the garden. There was a lot of tidying up to do. On Sunday we met friends for Sunday lunch at our local garden centre. They do a good roast there. It was nice doing some normal things after a week of sorting out care for our parents.

A little while ago I won one of the challenges at Carlin's Card Paradise and I was asked to be a guest designer for challenge #39.  The theme is "It Flys". Here is my card.

As you know I have been struggling to craft. To make this card I got out all my John Next Door dies and my Clarity Designer paper. The frame came from the Forest Frame die set. I used a Clarity sticker for the sentiment.

It was an honour to be asked to be a Guest Designer. I am pleased that I found time to make a card. Click on the logo and you will be taken to the challenge blog.

I do like to get my older dies out from time to time. All the dies I used are John Next Door dies and all the papers apart from the white frame are Clarity Designer papers. I added gems for a bit of bling.

This will be another card for my stash. I need to get back to making Christmas cards.

Star Trek Golfing themed 70th Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? My mother-in-law is back in hospital she was taken in on Monday night during the great Facebook silence. You just don't realise how much you rely on all the messaging services. To keep up to date with my mother-in-law's progress we were using  text messages. She is due out today, the same day as the care starts. She ended up having a blood transfusion as she was so anaemic. Tomorrow we are visiting both sets of parents. It is going to be a busy day.

One of our good friends is 70 today. Here is the card I made for him. He is a big Star Trek fan and he loves playing golf. At the moment he and his wife are  a cruise. Our daughter was very kind and drew the image for me.

I used some green glitter card that looked a bit like grass. The stars came from the Champagne Bottle die set from the John Next Door die set. I added the background and the sentiment on the computer.

Here is the fun image our daughter drew for the card. I just love the expressions on their faces.

Through the power of Facebook I know that he liked his card and that they are enjoying their cruise.

Enjoy the rest of the week

Congratulations on Passing your Driving Test

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We spent Saturday with our daughter and her lovely doggy. Our son-in-law was out helping someone move. There is still a lot to sort out for our parents. Care starts for my in-laws on Wednesday. On Thursday we are seeing both sets of parents. We know time is short so we want to be there for them. I won't be crafting much and I have stepped down from the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog. It is a shame but at the moment I am struggling with deadlines.

I was asked to make a card for someone who had just passed their driving test. Here is what I came up with.

I drew the L with a Promarker. I cut the L with scissors.

This a a Tattered Lace die I have had it for ages and it is very useful being a good size. I cut it in silver and black so I could make a shadow.

The car is one of the images from the Cruisin' Digital Stamp set from Beccy's Place. I place the car on a photo.

I was quite pleased with how this card turned out. I will be around and I will try to keep up with comments I just don't know how much crafting I will get done.

Have a good week

Happy Crafting

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog Challenge #92 Sponsor Hetty Clare Art - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? We have been very busy. The care for my husband's parents is under way. We had a meeting with the Care Company yesterday. There is a bit more to sort out but things are progressing. Also we have things to do for my parents. Last week I did some invigilating it was back to way we used to do it. I am finding it harder to find time to craft. For this reason I am stepping back a little from the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog. For the following two months I will just be doing comments I won't be making anything. Hopefully things will calm down soon.

Here is my card for this month's challenge. I used an image from Hetty Clare Art.

The die set I used around the image is a John Next Door Addition die called Elderflower.

There are many wonderful images in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This image is called Smile and it is available HERE. I coloured the image with my Faber Castell Polychromo pencils.

Have a good weekend. I hope that October is kind to you.

Happy crafting
