Easter Cards - two from one old card!

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you all doing? We have just been to M&S to get the Easter Meal deal it is a very good offer. So we are now all set for Sunday.

I will explain about my hand and the stitches, which I am hoping to have out next week. For our anniversary we went on a Cruise to Northern Europe. Due to the weather the itinerary changed a lot. The day we were due to leave Rotterdam the wind was so strong we had to stay an extra day. We went out for a walk we saw the cube houses and found some really nice shops. We walked back to the ship along the Erasmus Bridge. When we were nearly half way over we were caught by a gust of wind that swept us along and crashed us into the bridge side. My hand took the force of this and I ended up with a gash on the back of my hand. We went back on the ship having had my hand dressed in the terminal building. Reception sent us  to the medical centre and a nice doctor put 7 stitches in the back of my hand. It was a rather scary experience that could have been a lot worse.

Here are two Easter cards that I made from one old card.

Here is the first card it uses the main image from the card. The patterned paper was in my stash.

This was a little image from the inside of the card. I just wish I could stick things on straight.

Here are the cards together. They will be hand delivered.

I won't post anything until after Easter now.

Have a very Happy Easter.

Christmas cards made from recycled Packaging.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going. We are both invigilating this week and the first part of next week. These are practice exams for the Year 10s. There isn't much time to craft. It is lovely to have this afternoon off today. This means we can catch up with a few things.

I should have been working on a different project but I ended up making two Christmas cards from some packaging I had been saving.

The background is the packaging I had been saving. It was just too pretty to throw away. The craft card I used comes between the layers in a takeaway box from M&S. I did add the Snowflakes corner dies from the John Next Door range. I have used these corners so much.

I found two matching old Christmas Cards and I cut out the image and its mats with a mix of dies from the John Next Door range.

The greeting was cut into the card with the Christmas Stencil Sentiment dies also from the John Next Door range.

So that is another two cards for my Christmas stash. Now I must get on with the project I have been putting off.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

A Cute Robin on a Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? On Wednesday we had to get to my parents house early as a hospital bed was being delivered for my mum. We got there at the same time as the delivery driver. It was okay as he was very pleasant and he didn't mind waiting until we had cleaned the room. We also visited my in-laws. My lovely mum-in-law is not doing very well. She was back at hospital yesterday for another blood transfusion. This weekend we are hoping to  visit our daughter and son-in-law.

I picked up lots of Christmas cards at our parent's houses. Here is a card I made with one of them.

I just could not resist this robin. I found a backing paper in my stash to use with it.

I used some circle dies to cut out the robin and it's mats. The sentiment was made with the stencil dies from the John Next Door range. The Holly Corner I added is a John Next Door die too.

I am starting to build up my Christmas cards for this year.

Have a good weekend.

Car and Christmas Trees for Christmas

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We have both been busy invigilating. From now on I am going to be away from the computer for a while. I will catch up with everyone eventually when things have calmed down a bit.

Here is a card I made from an old card. You know how much I like doing this.

I have had that Christmas Tree paper in my stash for so long. It was just right for this card.

The image is from an old card.

I know just who to send this one too.

Take care and stay safe.

A Set of Four Christmas Cards

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We have had a busy few day. There are still issues with the care we have set up for my in-laws. I am sure everything we get sorted out soon.

When I have been feeling like crafting I have been making Christmas cards. I find these the most restful things to make. I have done a lot of colouring lately and that helps too.

I was given some old cards that all matched. They were used to make new cards and I used up lots of off cuts of patterned papers.

There were lots of scraps left over so I made a Snippets background for one of the cards.

This was a great way to use up some things that had been hanging around my craft area for a while.

I actually think this is the first card I made. That paper is so pretty.

There we have the  four similar cards. I still have more I would like to make.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Puzzled Sheep for Christmas

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We were quite tired after visiting our parents on Friday. For one thing we had to get a two seater sofa upstairs. This was a bit of a feat as the stairs had a bend in them. We didn't home until 7:00 pm and we had a boot full of stuff to get rid of. On Saturday we had friends round to supper which made a nice change.

On Sunday we had a quiet day and I actually made a card I could blog straight away. Of course it is a Christmas card.

I was looking through old Christmas cards and I found this one with sheep on that I thought would be ideal.

I used a puzzle die that came free with a magazine sometime ago. The sentiment is one from John Next Door. On Friday I visited the Art of Craft shop which is just up the road from my in-laws. I even got to look in the warehouse and have a chat with Pete and Jane who run Crafts-Too.

I still need lots more Christmas cards. I will see what I can get done this week.

Who doesn't like Poppies?

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? I have been busy with Design Team bits and pieces. So I haven't had much time to make things for me.

Here is a simple little card I made last week. You know how I love to recycle old cards.

I found the patterned paper in my stash. The border came from my stash too. I have fallen in love with Crafts-Too linen card. There are so many wonderful colours. That is where the red and green card came from.

I just couldn't resit using this image of poppies.

I think this card would be good for lots of different occasions. When I decide where it is going I will add a sentiment.

I know not so many people are blogging now or leaving comments. I will keep going with  my blog as it is my personal record of what I have made.

Have a good weekend.

Christmas Snippets with a cute Robin

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? As predicted we had a quiet time. This was good as it gave us the chance to get over going to an open air Bootleg Beatles concert at Stansted Park which is about half an hours drive from us which we attended with friends on Friday evening. We did get out for a couple of coffees.

I have been making more Christmas cards. I was sorting thorough some scraps of paper that I have had for a while. This is the result.

So you can see the background I made with the patterned paper snippets. When you make a background with this type of pattern it is good for using up smaller snippets.

This cute robin came from an old card. I used circle dies from 3 John Next Door die sets to cut the image and its mats and layers. Two of the dies I found had a stitched pattern round the edge.

This is the sentiment that comes with the John Next Door Bauble die set.

I am very pleased with how this card turned out. I now have over 70 Christmas cards for this year.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Have a great week.

Happy Wandering Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a quiet one at home, The weather was nice though and we spent some time in the garden.

At the weekend it was our son-in-law's. father's birthday. Here is the card I made for him.

Can you spot the real map in the background? Russ loves travelling around in his car. This weekend he has had a proper road trip travelling to  lots of different places. I made the name with the Stencil Alphabet dies from the John Next Door range.

This image came from an old card. I just love this cute image.

I hope Russ liked his card.

Have a good week.

Snippets Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We seem to be quite busy. Today my hubby is going to cricket for the first time. We live near to the Aegeus Bowl the home of Hampshire Cricket. He is going with friends. I hope he has a good time. I on the other hand will be having coffee with friends. It should be a nice day for both of us.

At the moment I don't have any deadlines looming so yesterday I made some Christmas cards.  I am so behind on Christmas card making this year.

The background was made with Snippets of patterned paper. There were so many lying around on my desk they were just asking to be used.

This is an old card. I cut the card and it's mount with my Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions. I made the Candi for the corners with my Limited Edition Mandala die from the John Next Door range.

I had two of the  old cards so I was able to make two new cards.

Ducks at Christmas

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We  have been busy with family things. When I can I am trying to catch up on my Christmas card making.

Here is one of my latest Christmas cards.

You know me I do like to recycle old cards. This is quite a simple card.

I did use the puzzle die again. That's the one that came free with a magazine sometime ago. I really don't get rid of much of my crafty stash. 😀 Those ducks are so cute. Maybe they need wellies for the snow.

So another card for my card for my Christmas stash.

Personalised Happy Wedding Anniversary Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? The weather was certainly nice. We ate a lot of our meals in the garden. There has been a lot to sort out for my family lately so we had a quiet time at home so I could get my head around it all.

Here is an anniversary card that we made for our good friends.

The backing paper was in my stash. The bottle and glasses came from an old shaped card. I chose the paper to match the card.

For the personal touch I used the Stencil Alphabet dies. The stars came from the Champagne Bottle die set. Both from the John Next Door range.

Their anniversary was last week. We gave them some rhubarb flavoured gin and tonic which they liked. This week sees both of their birthdays. We are having a day out with them on Wednesday to celebrate.

Have a good week.

Monochrome Cat

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your week? Today we are off to the National Trust Property, Mottisfont. It is one of the ones that is closest to where we live. It is a nice property to visit and the grounds are nice. We are meeting our daughter and son-in-law and his parents. It will be a small celebration to mark our daughter and son-in-law's wedding anniversary which was the day before. Where did those four years go?

I was going through my stash of old cards and I came across this lovely image of a cat. I just had to make it into a card.

Where I struggled was finding some paper that would suit. I did want to make a monochrome card. In the end I went for some Claritystamp Designer paper.

This is just such a lovely image of a cat.

I have an idea of who might be the recipient of this card.

Have a good weekend.

Robins at Christmas

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We went to the cinema yesterday. It was very odd going again. We have both really missed going to the cinema. Tomorrow we are off to look after our daughter and son-in-law's dog so they can go out for an anniversary meal together. I can't believe it is four years since they got married.

I am so behind on my own Christmas cards I needed a bit of time to catch up. I just couldn't bear to watch the football on Sunday so I did spend a bit of time crafting.

In the background is some snowy patterned paper. The main die set I used was Christmas Time from the John Next Door range. The sentiment was cut with a die from the Happy Snowflakes die set from John Next Door.

The holly wreath was made with dies from the Christmas Time die set. The robins were cut from an old Christmas card. I do keep all the cards with robins on because I like them so much.

I still have a lot of Christmas cards to make. But a least here is one more. I ought to get back to crafting.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Music themed Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? We have been quite busy. The samples I have made are in the post and tracked and traced. I really didn't want them to get lost. We had breakfast with friends on Thursday morning. That is a lovely way to socialise. I have a feeling I know what a lot of people will be doing on Sunday.

Here the birthday card I made for my hubby. Back in the day he used to play guitar. His fingers are too sore now. Just one of the joys of getting older. He does still enjoy music very much.

I used a 7" x 7" black card blank. The musical papers I have are digital so I can print them when I need them and I always know where they are.

I have been upcycling old cards again. This fabulous image was too good to throw away. I used Crafts-Too Vintage Copper Satin card for the the mats and layers. I also die cut some musical notes to add to the design.

I think he will enjoy this card. His birthday is in August. I just need to think of a present for him now.

Have a good weekend.

This is a cute little card. The patterned paper was in my stash.

This was a little card we received for Christmas. The robin was so cute I just had to make it into another card. The greeting was added with one of John Next Door dies.

I have been making lots of Christmas cards but none for us to use. When I get a bit of time I will have to make some more.
