The May Challenge for the Rudolph Days Challenge

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How did we get to the end of May? This weekend coming it will be our daughter's birthday, mine was at the beginning  of the month. I suppose we will have to video call like we did for mine.

Well today the new challenge starts at the Rudolph Days Challenge. I do try not to miss one of the challenges as I do like to keep on top of my Christmas Card making. At the moment I am not making so many cards a lot of my time is now spent doodling with Barbara Gray. This week we will be off on our travels again. I have a feeling it might be a Safari. I have given up saying I can't do that I just give everything a go.

I just love robins on Christmas cards. I couldn't resist the image on an old card.

This is a Crafter's Companion die.

I used the Piece by Piece die set that came free with a magazine a while ago to cut the black mat and the puzzle pieces. I like to offset some of the pieces so that it looks more like a puzzle. I always enjoy using this die set.

Here is another card for my stash of Christmas cards. I really should make some more.

Happy 60th Birthday Keith

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

You might have noticed that I have not been around lately. We are in France to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. We had a trip away for mine so it is only fair. He will be having not one but two tea parties with different groups of people. Both involve tea and cake. 🙂

I have made him a very special card that he won't be able to open until he gets home. Then I thought it was a bit mean not to have anything to open on the day. So I made one that could travel.

This had to be a relatively quick card and one that could go in a suitcase. I found an old card with these bottles of wine on, Hopefully we will be having some nice French wine tonight.

I used the Piece by Piece dies set from Die-Cutting Essential magazine. I think it is nice to leave some of the pieces not quite in the puzzle. My husband like another card that I made with this die set.

This is my hubby in Sorrento last year. That was a lovely restaurant.

I think he will like this card. I will catch up with everyone when we get back.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Piece by Piece die set from Die-Cutting Essentials magazine

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? My mother-in-law came out of hospital last Friday. On Saturday we visited and did lots of jobs around the house to help.  On Sunday went to Mottisfont. While we were there we got the message that my mother-in-law had been taken back into hospital. So there will be more hospital visiting this week.

I treated myself to Issue 54 of Die-cutting Essentials magazine. It came with the fabulous Piece by Piece die set. I found an old card with a nice image that I thought would work well with the die set.

That is a fabulous image to use. I made a 6" x 6" card blank and I added a mat of glitter card.

The die set comes with an outer die so I used this to cut a black mat. Then I cut the image with the puzzle piece part of the die set. I offset one of the pieces to make it look like the puzzle was about to be finished. As a family we love doing puzzles at Christmas.

I was really pleased with how this design worked out.
