Kusudama Flower table decoration

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? I am enjoying what I think is called a Staycation. My husband has taken the week as leave and we are having a lovely time catching up with friends, going out and going to the cinema. We do love going to see films.

I did get the Save the Dare fridge magnets finished. So that is the first wedding job done. There are many more to come.  We have been talking about table decorations and I have been having a play.

We had been thinking about paper flowers and I remembered I had been given and Kusudama ball kit by my crafty friend. This is just a play. We did see in one shop a jam jar with lace stuck on it, which I thing would look nice, selling for £6. They would be so easy to make. If you mention weddings the price just seems to shoot up. There is a battery tea light in the bottom it doesn't show to well in the sun.

I have seen these flowers before I was surprised how easily they went together. The centres are Babies Breath with Bead from Hobbycraft.

Here are the fridge magnets. They are just a bit smaller than A7. I actually bruised on of my fingers cutting the magnetic tape to stick on  the back. .

I made a box to keep them together. Our daughter did draw the picture herself it is her rabbits as a bride and groom. Yes the boy rabbit is smaller than the girl rabbit.

This is just a first experiment. I am not sure how table decorations will work out but it will be a fun project to work on.

Have a great day. We are just off to a Silver Screen screening at the cinema.

Happy Crafting

Wedding Makes and Wedding Photos

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. We very much enjoyed the wedding on  Saturday and then we had a a day with our daughter on Sunday followed by a day to chill on Monday.

Now on to what I promised I would show you.

Here are most of the things I made for the wedding. I did make some evening invitations but I couldn't find one of those to put in this picture.

Here are the happy couple surrounded by some of  their family and friends. The wedding and the reception all took place in the Explosion Museum in Gosport.

This is the card I made for them I kept the theme of the invitations for the design.

A little gift that I made for them I did blog this a few weeks ago. I am planning to make another one as another cousin is getting married in July.

This is the reading that was read at the wedding.

This is the table plan at the venue. I was very pleased with how this turned out. The happy couple gave me an admiralty chart which we found a frame for. You can just about see the silver ships they were cut with my ScanNcut I was so pleased that this worked. My husband helped a lot he did all the work on the computer. Even finding me silhouettes of warships to be cut with the ScanNcut.

All the tables had one of these cards on them. The tables were named after missiles.

On the back of the table card were instructions to get a code to open the padlock on a crate which contained things we needed for the reception.

Everyone had a place card and helpfully we had put their  menu choices inside.

There was an Ammo crate for cards and presents.

There was also a sweet buffet table.

This is the cake made of cheese and the brides bouquet.

It was a very well organised wedding and lots of fun. There were lots of things for the guests today including a photo booth where many very silly photos were taken.

Not so silly with my husband's parents and our daughter and her fiancĂ©,

Very silly with our daughter and her fiancĂ© my husband is hiding.

The next wedding I will be making things for will be our daughter's wedding in fact we are visiting a venue with them on Wednesday.

Take care.

Tattered Lace - Cathedral Die

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope your week is going well. We are half way already.

I made some samples for the Noah's Ark shows on Create and Craft this week. When you see my samples you may wonder a bit. I was sent the Ark stencil set and template but no animals so didn't make any samples with it. I was sent a Cathedral Die and some wedding sentiments.

Here are all the samples together. It was a rather dull day to take photos so the contrast isn't so good.

The first card I made was this simple wedding card. I cut the Cathedral in silver and put white behind it to show off the detail of the die.

I found some pretty lace paper in my stash and used it to make this Save the Date cards.

I made a tag that could go with a present,

Finally I made a money wallet that you could put a financial gift in.

I enjoyed making these samples.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Revised Wedding Invitation Design

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you have had a good weekend. I am nearly completely better so I am fit enough to go back to work.

Well I have managed to catch up on a few jobs this week, even though at the start of the week it looked like I wouldn't be able to. My husband helped me hugely on Saturday.

I thought you might like to see the revised Wedding Invitation design. We have spoken to the happy couple and they are happy for me to go ahead with this design.

The colours are a bit more muted and I have used dies to cut some of the mats so I can do a bit of gutting to save a bit of money.

This is the original design it hasn't changed that much really. I will be using distress ink on the Gelli plate and not acrylic paint.  I think that will be easier to make multiple copies this way.

A close up of the background I used two netting masks stuck together to give me a larger mask  so that I could  create the netting effect on the background without having to move the mask.

This is the Save the Date cards all finished my husband sorted all the printing for me which was a huge help. They were collected earlier and they will be sent out soon.

So this is what I will be working on next. I think I will have to have a day making backgrounds and so forth. I don't want to leave it all till the last minute. I will be designing much smaller evening invitations soon they will be the same size as the Save the Date cards.

I hope you have a good week.

Wedding Invitation Samples

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you had a good weekend and are ready for the week ahead. I am still coughing so I think I will have to give in and go to the doctors. At least it is the Half Term holiday and I can get some rest.

I have mentioned the wedding invitations I will be making a few times and I thought the time has come to show you what I have been working on.

These are the samples I took to show the happy couple. This was after initial discussions on their wants. The wedding is having a naval theme as it will take place at Explosion: the museum of naval firepower in Gosport

This is the design that was chosen but there will be some changes the background was made with a Gelli plate.  I need to make another sample to incorporate the changes we discussed.

This is me set up to make the Save the Date cards. They need to go out in March so I need to get a move  on. The ship die is a Signature die it cuts beautifully.

Well tomorrow is my first Blog Anniversary. I can't believe I have been blogging for a whole year. I want to thank all of my followers and all those that leave comments for making this journey such a pleasure.

I hope you have a great week.

Happy Crafting.
