Cute Owl with a Snippets Background

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? Here is a little card to cheer you up. We are all booked for our Covid vaccine. We got the letter on yesterday and we booked later in the day when some more appointments had become available. The next one is booked as well. I do hope all this helps.

I have been enjoying colouring. It does seem to help with my stress levels. When I have to deal with things to do with my parent's  care a session of colouring really helps calm me down. I had my snippets out for another project. I hunted through to find papers that would go with this cute owl.

This cute little owl is from the You're A Hoot digital stamp set from Beccy's Place it is available HERE  This image set is on sale, it is a good price and it won't be around for long. The branch and the butterfly were drawn by me. I wanted him to have something to look at and to sit on. The whole thing was coloured with my Faber Castell Polychromo pencils. The frame was made with a Spellbinders die. I cut it twice once in black and once in gold. This helped the frame to stand out from the background.

I will pop a sentiment onto this card when I know who it will be sent to. I have been asked to have a stall at a Hampshire Open Studios event in the summer. I had better get making somethings to put on the stall.

A Ballet themed Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend in spite of lockdown. We have so many things to sort out the weekend whizzed by. I am invigilating again this week. My hubby is now into his last three weeks of work. All the paperwork has now gone to all the right places. So it is actually going to happen.

I was making a birthday card for someone else and I ended up with lots of pretty little scraps of paper. Well I just had to make another birthday card with them.

With the strips of pretty paper I made a background.

I used a Spellbinders die to make the label. The ballet dancer die is from Crafter's Companion.

The sentiment is a Crafter's Companion die too.

When I made this card I didn't have a recipient in mind. I just don't like wasting things.

Have a good week.

My very own Homegrown Sunflower

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? I have been busy getting ready for the Open Studios event at the weekend. There have been quite a few things to sort out. Today I should be setting up ready for Saturday but that depends a bit on the weather. My hubby has taken the day off so he can help me. He did need to use up some of his leave. It's not like we can go anywhere.

I love taking pictures of flowers I have done this for years. I don't usually do anything with the photos this year I decided to try them on cards. Here is my first effort.

The backing paper was in my stash. The die I used for the corners is a  Spellbinders die.

This is my own sunflower that I grew from seed. We went to a garden centre the day before they were closed and I bought some miniature sunflower seeds. They have been grown in pots on the patio. I hope to save some of the seeds to grow next year. The birds can have what is left.

I am going to put this card into the sale along with some others with my photos on. I will let you know how I get on. I am not really expecting to sell very much.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Have a great day.

Happy Easter

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

🐣Happy Easter🐣

I hope you have a lovely day. I know we can't be with the people that we love. We are safe at home and that is something to celebrate. Just think what it will be like when we can all meet up again.

This card has  the same design as the condolence card I made a few weeks ago. Changing the colours made a big difference.

This is the only Happy Easter die that I have it is from Creative Expressions. The Ivy was cut with the Ivy Spray dies from the John Next Door range. I love how you can place the ivy round an image.

The cross die is from a Spellbinders set of dies. For the background I used the Heart Lattice embossing folder.

I sent this card to our good friends. We are having video chats with them but it is not the same as being there with them. We have all got to do our bit.

I hope that you have a great Easter.

Stay safe and well.

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog February Challenge Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? The start of the month is always busy in Blogland with lots of challenges starting over the next few days. I have two posts today, just to prove my point.

The new challenge starts on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes and the sponsor this time is Fabrika Fantasy.

In the background I used the lattice corner die from the Sandwich box die set by John Next Door. This die cuts beautifully and all the pieces come out so easily.  Can you spot the sun in the corner of my photo.

There are many wonderful images in the store if you click on the image you will be taken there.

This image is called Poppy Fairy and she is available HERE. As the image is a PNG I was able to place it onto my own background image before printing onto Neenah card  and colouring with my Promarkers.

This is a Spellbinders poppy die. I do have a bit of a thing for poppies.

The Happy Birthday was cut with a Crafter's Companion die.

I was very pleased with how this card came together. Enjoy the rest of the week.

Pollyanna Pickering - Little Owl Birthday Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? Well yesterday  I walked out of work for the last time - I am now officially retired . I do have very  mixed emotions but I am sure that I have done the right thing. Being able to choose when to go on holiday will be a big thing.

I have been a bit intermittent with card making since the wedding. I went back to my favourite Pollyanna Pickering images for some inspiration.

I added some paper from a Creative World of Crafts pad.

To match the image I added  die cut trees using the Winter Trees dies designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

This image is from a Pollyanna Pickering sketch pad. The Little Owls are so cute.

Here are all the cards and presents I received yesterday. I had been working there for over 20 years. Some of the cards are very inventive I might be stealing some of the ideas for my own card making.

This is another card for my stash owl cards are always popular.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Flower Fairies Gift Collection from Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Happy Weekend. I hope you are doing something nice. Yesterday we visited our daughter and her new husband. They have been married for exactly a week. Doesn't time go by quickly. We did have a brilliant time at the wedding. We have lots of lovely memories to cherish.

Well I keep treating myself to crafty bits and pieces the latest being the August issue of Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine with its Flower Fairy Gift Collection. I remember the flower fairies from my youth and I know my mother-in-law loves them too.

The gorgeous paper came with the kit. There is gold foiling on the frames of the images so I added gold and purple mats and layers.

This is a small picture of a Harebell.

This is the Harebell Fairy she is very pretty. The paintings of the flower fairies were done in the 1920's by Cicely Mary Barker.

The sentiment was cut with a a Spellbinders die I do like the font.

I was very pleased with how this card turned out. There are lots of elements left in the kit so I will be making some more cards and other things.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Happy Crafting

Fantasy Stampers - Teddy Bears' Picnic Midway Motivation

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. Do you have plans? I am off to a crafty workshop with my friend. It is a charity event raising money for a good cause.

We are now half way through the latest challenge on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge blog the current theme is Teddy Bears' Picnic. I offered to make this challenges midway motivation card this time. So I had to hunt through my stash for a stamp with bear on it.

Once I had decided on the stamp I cut all the mats and layers. I used a Tattered Lace die to cut the bunting. The layers around the image and the die behind the sentiment were created with Spellbinders dies.

I  was delighted when found this little Forever Friends stamps in my stash I think it came free with a magazine some time ago. He was stamped in black archival onto water colour card and coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. I do like using them.

This is a LOTV sentiment stamp that also came free with another magazine some time ago.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Up, Up and Away Male Birthday Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How has your Bank Holiday been? We have had fun celebrating our daughter's birthday. First we went  to the Southsea Aquarium, then we went to see the new Turtle Movie (a childhood favourite of our daughter) and finishing with a meal. It was a very nice day she is on her way home now with her rabbits.

I have made a few male cards for my stash recently having found myself short a few days ago.

I have been reusing greetings cards again. The balloon card in the background was one of the get well cards my husband got when he broke his wrist. I kept seeing it on the side knowing that I wanted to make a card out of it. I used an Crafter's Companion cloud embossing folder to create the background.

I used a Spellbinders die to create my balloon to match the ones on the reused cards.

I decided to make a quick card with the Spellbinders die and the cloud embossing folder as well.

I have a few male cards for my stash now. I won't be crafting for a while we are going away for a few days.

Have a great week.

Happy Crafting.
