A Bottle of Vine Anniversary Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Well the weekend is nearly here. I hope you have something nice planned. We will be doing more things for the wedding as it really isn't very far away now. I have even had my hair coloured yesterday which is a first for me. We are also going to try and fit in looking for a new fridge. If you are wondering how we are managing we have a spare fridge which we are using in the meantime.

Last week at my mother-in-law's 90th birthday meal we realised that my husband's brother and his wife were about to celebrate their 35th Wedding Anniversary. They got married the same year as us. Their wedding was quite unconventional but lots of fun with the reception being on a boat down the Thames with a Jazz band. As I had treated myself to some new stamps and matching dies and  I wanted to try my new Tim Holtz stamping platform I decided to make them a card.

They do like a drink and fine wine is often on offer when you visit them so that was the inspiration behind this card.

I knew I wanted to use my new stamps with Heartfelt Creations Italiana Grapevines stamps and matching dies. They were stamped in black archival and coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. The dies were nice and easy to line up.

My new stamps, which also had a matching die set, are the Honey Doo Crafts A Bottle of Vine set. They were also stamped with black archival and coloured with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens and then cut out with the dies I had treated myself to. 😊

There is no sentiment I popped that inside.

Free Gift Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine - Issue 167 July

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? It has turned very wet here such a contrast to the temperatures last week.

When I bought the latest issue of Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine I was thrilled with the free gift and I couldn't wait to make a card with it.

The background papers came from my stash.

I started by cutting a circle of water colour card. I had some Pixie Powders left over on my craft mat from another project and I wiped the circle through the ink to make the background. Then I stamped the fairy and the sentiment with black archival ink. I picked up some of the colour with a paint brush so the colour was a little darker on the fairy. I cut the frame with a Spellbinders lacy circle die and a Tonic die to cut our the centre.

This is  a Crafter's Companion die.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the week. With the wedding so close nothing else is really happening for us just planning and organising.

Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine - Issue 167 Bonus papers

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How was your weekend? I was hoping for a quiet time having finished all the wedding makes. Unfortunately we have been let down with help getting things to the venue before the wedding and our fridge decided this was a good time to break. We also went to Portsmouth to a craft show and then to Aldershot for a celebration for my mother-in-laws 90th birthday. We are having another celebration in August. Not everyone can get together at the same time.

A little while ago I applied to be on the Reader's Design team for issue 167 of Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine I was emailed the papers and I sent my card off. This time my card wasn't one of the ones chosen to be printed. It is pretty so I thought I would share it anyway.

It is very appropriate that the papers were wedding themed. I loved the swans. I used a tattered lace die to make the frames. For the background I used one of the papers and then over the top like confetti I put different sized hearts cut from one of the other papers.

I used pink card to enhance the image.

I did the same with the sentiment.

My stash from the Portsmouth Craft show I did try to reign my self in a bit.

Have a great week.

Christmas in June

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you have had a good week. The weather has been amazing but it was quite a relief when things got a bit cooler on Thursday. Apart from the table plan everything is made for the weeding, It is such a relief.

I treated myself to some goodies from Crafter's Companion and one of them was a £10 Christmas mystery bag of products designed by Leonie Pujol. When it came there were two dies, two embossing folders and some sparkle pens. Now the two dies were entwined dies that went with a Christmas tree die. So being me I had to order that die too and it cost more than the mystery bag something that my husband found amusing.

It was so nice making something not wedding related.

The sentiment came with one to of the die sets.

I do like the more contemporary look of this tree.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Pollyanna Pickering - Tawny Owl - Birthday Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How are you keeping? We are very busy, there are only a few weeks left until the wedding. The preparations are going well. All the boxes for the various tables are packed. The trees are finished. I just have to finish off the buttonholes and the table plan ( I want to do that as close to the end as I can to take account of last minute changes). Sorry to be so boring I can't really think of much else at the moment.

As a break from wedding makes I decided to make a birthday card with one of my Pollyanna Pickering paper kits from the Creative World of Crafts.

The papers came from a pack from the Creative World of Crafts.

I do love this image. The owl babies are so cute.

Here is a description of the Tawny Owl that I cut from the image.

Have  great week.

Isobel Craft Collection - Ladybirds

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. I hope you have something nice planned the weather is looking good. We had an unexpected trip to see the in-laws yesterday. My Mother-in-law is 90 next week and there is a planned meal at weekend and another in September. But our daughter and her fiance wanted to  visit yesterday so we tagged along this meant we could all go out for a meal. I have just completed the trees for the wedding so I am feeling a bit more on top of things. Here is a link to the page.

A couple of days ago I shared a card I made with the new Gnomes stamps from the Isobel Craft Collection. Well I just had to share another card I made with the new Ladybird stamps.

I love using the resist technique to create a background. I stamped and heat embossed the ladybird stamp in two colours. Then I used Distress Ink to colour the rest of the page.

There is a link on the Facebook page to where you can buy the stamps.

I used the Heart of Hearts die set to cut our the stamped image.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Isobel Craft Collection - Gnomes

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a good week. Today marks exactly one month to our daughter's wedding. There are going to be a lot more things to post on the page I have created for the wedding  but that will have to wait until after. Some of them are to be surprises. All in all I think my blog is going to suffer I still have quite a bit to do but it is manageable. Somethings can't be done until the last minute. I will blog as much as time allows but it will be rather erratic.

I so enjoyed using the Gnome stamps from the Isobel Craft Collection. I thought I would share another of my creations.

The gnomes are so cute and easy to cut out and use.

Here they are on my craft desk helping me with the wedding prep.

The were coloured with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. I am beginning to wonder if I could make Christmas cards with them.

Just a quick post. Enjoy the rest of the week.

Safari Friends Birthday card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going. Yesterday we went to see Sister Act at the theatre it was brilliant. Today I have been on a school trip to look at rivers in the New Forest ( this will be my last ever school trip). I am a bit tired and a bit behind with things. Hopefully I will be able to catch up over the rest of the week.

I could resist buying issue 145 of Papercraft Essentials magazine with its Animal Friends embossing folder and stamp set back in April. As our daughter is getting married in a zoo I used this set to make her birthday card.

The Zebra paper was left over from makes for the wedding. The flowers were created with a punch and the leaves with the Laurel Leave die designed  by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

All the stamps were stamped in black archival and coloured with me Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.

I cut the animals out with my Brother Scan and cut that way they can have an even border.

I made a little scene with the couple. I framed it with a Sue Wilson die it was nice to have the hearts in the frame.

Yes I used my Crafter's Companion Happy Birthday die again it is a good size.

I took this photo on the trip. We were doing activities around the river and this group of horses with a foal came for a drink and then went again.

She was very pleased with this card. I did enjoy using the stamps it is a great set.

Some Good News - Emerald City Crafts

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your weekend going? We had a busy day yesterday running round doing things with our daughter towards the wedding. The wedding dress is back and I can lace it.  It should be a quieter day today.

This is just a quick post from me to share some news. There is a new Challenge Blog starting being run by Linda Simpson. She has started an Etsy shop where she sells papers and ephemera. The new challenge blog is called the  Emerald City Crafts Challenge Blog.  The challenges start on the first Friday of the month and will run for three weeks the theme will always be Anything Goes. I was thrilled when Linda asked me to join her Design Team. The first challenge will start on 7th July.

I have created a tag with one of the images available from the store if you go the blog there is a link to the shop.

I picked up some Tim Holtz tags in a sale I think they are going to be very useful. I had the lace and the backing paper in my stash.

This is the image it comes in a set.

It would be lovely if you could join us for our first challenge.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Take care.

Alphabet Challenge blog - Letter G - Give Thanks

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. This weekend our daughter is home. She has a hairdressers appointment and her dress is coming back from being altered. Everything is getting close and exciting. My husband and I are hoping to collect our new glasses which we ordered two weeks ago. I have managed to get glasses to match my outfit.

The new challenge starts today on the Alphabet Challenge blog the letter is G and the theme is Give Thanks. This will be my last post for the Alphabet Challenge blog as I have decided to step down from the team. I have enjoyed my time with them but now it is time to move on. I wish them all the best for the future. You never know I might go in for some of the challenges.

I like making Thank You cards. They are always useful to have in your stash.

I used an embossing folder the make the background. I used some Tonic dies to cut an aperture and an inner frame. Behind the aperture I used the Bed of Roses embossing folder by Creative Expression.

This rose stamp came free with a magazine some time ago I now can't remember which one. I coloured it with my Stampin Up water colour pencils and I used a blender pen to move the colours around.

This thank you die is floral but I have used it much more with the floral elements removed.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) theme Embossing

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? We are nearly at the weekend. I really shouldn't wish the time away should I? There is so much coming up though. I still have quite a bit to make for the wedding which is about five and a half weeks away.

The new challenge starts on the Moving Along with the Times challenge blog and the theme is Embossing.

I managed to get my hands on 'That Embossing Folder'. The one that came free with a magazine and everyone wanted it and it sold out. It has been made available again and that is how I got one. I just had to use it for this challenge.

I used the Sue Wilson Just for You Oval die set to make the sentiment. The central piece I embossed with the lower portion of the folder.

Here is the detail of the embossing folder. I embossed it three times and cut our the elements and them put them together on the card.

Karen asked if we saw the wall of fame, in the Cavern District of Liverpool, on our last visit. I thought I would share my photo of it I hope Karen pops by to see it.

To me this card looks a bit French. It would be quite easy to recreate in lots of different colours.

Enjoy the rest of the week.
