Under the Mistletoe Cute Hedgehogs

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? When we got up yesterday we had a bit of a shock our daughter had been messaging us all night - never a good sign. Her husband was taken into hospital during the night and was still there in the morning. He eventually got onto a ward and he managed to get some rest. We went up to visit in the evening. Hopefully he will be able to come home today.

I have playing along with the Month of Christmas Cards Challenge at Beccy's Challenges.  I have really enjoyed it and I have won some credit to use in the store which I am really looking forward to using. This will be my last card for the challenge which I think finishes tomorrow.

My cousin has been rather poorly in fact she is being treated for Breast Cancer. She and her partner are very fond of the hedgehogs that visit their garden. So I thought I would make a special Christmas card for them with hedgehogs on it. I remembered that Di's Digi Stamps has lots of hedgehog images. I treated myself to a couple of images in the Black Friday sale there was 40% off Christmas images.

I found the holly paper in my stash which was handy.

This image is called Hedgehogs Mistletoe Kiss and is available HERE It was printed onto Neenah card and coloured with my Promarkers. I have been trying to get better with my colouring. I am quite enjoying it now.

This was cut with a Creative Expressions die.

Yes I do like red and green and gold together for Christmas cards. I hope my cousin likes this.

A Partridge in a Pear Tree

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How did your week start? I am waiting in for my new oven to be delivered today. A couple of things that I thought would be happening aren't anymore but that gives more time to craft. I have just found out that our son-in-law was taken into hospital last night. As far as I know he is still there having test. I wonder what the rest of the day will bring.

I have been joining in with the Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's Challenge blog.   Last week she set the challenge of using one of her free images to make a card. I did make one with the Patchwork Deer But I spotted this image when I was looking through and I had seen another challenge for a Christmas song inspired make so I thought I would have a go.

I found the perfect backing paper in my stash. I added some Washi tape at the bottom.

The image is called Partridge in a Pear Tree and is free on Beccy's blog. I coloured with Promarker and added some sparkle with a Wink of Stella Pen.

This one should be nice and flat for posting. I love red and gold and green together on Christmas cards.

LOTV Topper Christmas card in Blue

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How are you today? I hope you are nicely recovered from the weekend and ready for the week ahead. If I am lucky my new cooker will be delivered tomorrow. I am looking forward to having a fully functioning oven again.

I made a card with a frame last week and when you make a frame you are left with lots of matching mats that are just too good to waste. When I was going through my stash I found an image that would work perfectly with them. I love it when projects fall into place.

So all the mats and layers were cut with the Double Pierced Squares dies from Creative Expressions.

This is the LOTV topper I found in my stash. I did use a Wink of Stella pen on the star to make it shine.

This tiny sentiment was cut with a Tattered Lace die.

There you have is another card for my very growing stash of Christmas cards.

Quilted Deer from Beccy's Place

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your weekend going? We had breakfast in M&S this morning before picking up the £10 meal deal. My poor husband is working in the garden now and I have made a Christmas card for a challenge.

I have been joining in with the November Christmas Challenge on Beccy's Challenge Blog and yesterday evening she posted a free image to use to make a card. Well I just couldn't resist.

All the mats and layers were cut with either the Double Pierced Square or Circle dies from Creative Expression.

Isn't this image adorable? He is called Quilted Deer.  This is the  precoloured version which makes for very quick card making. I added the sentiment with my computer before I printed the image.

This card is a good size and nice and flat for posting.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

It is no surprise that I would like to enter the November Christmas Challenge at Beccy's Challenge blog and the November Rudolph Days Challenge.

Crafty Catz Challenge blog challenge 394

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

Well the weekend is ahead of us. I hope you have had a good week and have something nice planned for the weekend. Today I am going to make a felted scarf. The lady who runs the workshops I help with has been asked to run scarf making workshops. She wanted to  have a try  out so I offered to help.. The weekend is going to be filled with visiting family.

Being Friday the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz Challenge Blog. This is a big one for me as it is the first one I am hosting I had the privilege of choosing the images for the Design Team to use. The theme as usual is Anything Goes with the optional twist of using Winter Colours. The sponsor is Bugaboo Digi Stamps.

In the background I used the Falling Snow Embossing folder from Creative Expressions. I have used it a lot this year. I added die cut snowflakes to add to the texture. The ribbon was from my stash.

There are many wonderful images in the store if you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This fun image is called Reindeer Blocks and it is available HERE. I printed it on to Neenah card and I coloured it with my Promarkers. This image would easily make a card by itself not much else would be needed.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. It would be lovely if you could join in with the challenge.

Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge - theme Christmas Animals

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends,

How is your week going? We have already got to Thursday. Yesterday I went into Southampton and I met my husband, who had taken a half day leave. The Christmas market is in full swing and we did a bit of Christmas shopping. Today I am going out with a friend for coffee. It will be nice to have a chance to catch up with her.

The new challenge starts today on the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge blog and the theme is Christmas Animals.

The background is another old Christmas card. I hunted through a big pile of old cards to find a suitable one for the background. Around the edge of the card I put some Ice Stickles.

I used the Deer family die set from Creative Expressions.

This card should be nice and flat for posting that should please my husband.

Enjoy your day.

Polkadoodles free image from Making Cards Magazine

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? It is a bit windy here today.  I am popping into Southampton later to meet my husband for lunch. He has taken a half day leave so we can do a bit of Christmas shopping. The Christmas market is in full swing and Santa flies twice a day.

I wasn't going to blog today but I was so pleased with how this card turned out I wanted to share it. I used the  Polkadoodles image that was free for Making Cards Magazine readers called Hollybobs Choir.

I made a frame for the image with the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions. Those dies are so useful.

The image I received was a PNG with meant that I could put it onto my own background. I just used Publisher to put it all together. Them I coloured the couple with Promarkers.

The sentiment was found in my stash. I cut the mat with the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions. Yes I have those to and one day I would love to have the Double Pierced Ovals.

I did like using this image. Being a PNG made it so much easier to use.

Enjoy your day.

Cookie Cutter Christmas Santa

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How has your week started? Yesterday I walked to our local Next it took me an hour there and back with some shopping time included. It is quite a nice walk I think I will be doing it again. Today I have a crafty day planned. My husband will be home early he has a dentist appointment. We are hoping to be able to go back to the shop where we ordered our new oven as we haven't heard anything since last week - watch this space.

My husband commented the other day that I know you like making my large cards but they aren't so practical for posting. So I decided to make a few more smaller ones.

I found a pack of smaller card blanks with matching envelopes in my stash. I cut all the mats and layers with my guillotine. I have stopped using my rotary trimmer in favour of the guillotine as I think the cut is better.  I am quite surprised.

I stamped eight of these cute Santas with the Cookie- Cutter Christmas stamp set from Stampin Up. Four of them were used for these cards. They were cut out with the matching punch.  I used some scalloped circle dies to cut the circles behind the Rustic Twig Wreath from Creative Expressions.

The sentiment was cut with a Signature die.

I had cut all of the bits for the cards. When I came to make them I decided to swap the elements around. They should be okay for posting.

You will see what happened to the other four Santas sometime soon.

Christmas Rose Christmas card.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your weekend going?  We have had quite quiet weekend so far. Yesterday we sorted out our passport applications which we did online with our own photos. When we came to send off our old passports we had to send them to different offices. My husband's is on the way to Durham and mine is off to Glasgow. Today it is more work in the garden and a meal out with friends in the evening. Altogether a nice weekend.

A while back I made this card for a competition. I didn't come anywhere but I thought I would share it when I found a photo of  it going through my files.

I found the backing paper in my stash and it has Christmas Roses on it.

This is a Creative Expressions die cut twice to create a shadow.

The robin was cut with a Tattered Lace die that came free with a magazine. He is sitting on a spray made with the Holley Spray die set and Festive Bough dies set both from Creative Expressions.

I had the the Christmas Rose die set from Creative Expressions last year but I only started using it this year it is so pretty.

I was quite pleased with how this turned out. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge Blog - Anything Goes with the optional twist of Sparkle and Shine

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

Well it is Friday again. The weeks certainly do rush by. I hope you have something nice planned for the weekend. We will probably be working in the garden again on Saturday and on Sunday we are having a meal with friends. I do hope that we will be able to fit in a bit more Christmas shopping.

Being Friday the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz Weekly challenge blog and this week the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of Sparkle and Shine. The sponsor this time is the rather fabulous Polkadoodles.

I cut some silver glitter card to make the base layer. I did cut a frame for the aperture but you can't see that anymore. The wreath was cut with the Festive Bough die set from Creative Expressions.

There are many wonderful images in the store if you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This image is Winnie White Christmas printables Feeding the Birds and she is available HERE. She was coloured with Promarkers and I added some Wink of Stella to the white to make it sparkle.

This is a Tattered Lace Robin die that came with one of their magazines. He was die cut in white and coloured with Promarkers. I did spray him and the bough wreath with Spray and Sparkle to make them shiny.

Have a great weekend.

Stained Glass Poinsettia

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? Both me and my husband still have our coughs. I went to Christchurch yesterday with my friend to see the gallery where our cards are on display.  On the way there we popped into the Emerald Crafts shop in Lyndhurst, it is stuffed to the rafters with crafty loveliness. I did buy a few bits it would have been rude not too. I also was able to have a look round Christchurch which was nice. It was a long day it did make a nice change.

I have had a quieter day today. I did send a few cards to some people who are poorly. When I got home I decided to have a play with a die that I hadn't used before the Stained Glass Poinsettia die  from Creative Expressions.

I made the background for the die with Distress Oxides on watercolour paper.

I cut the die in black with a large border. I put some double sided sticky sheet onto the Distress Oxides background and I stuck the die-cut to it. Then I cut the die in red and green. I used the pieces from these die-cuts to fill in parts of the stained glass image. Once I was happy I poured microbeads over the exposed sticky sheet. I did forget to cut some yellow card for the centres of the poinsettias.

I found this sentiment in my stash.

I am going to have another try with this die. I might try acetate and glitter.

I would like to enter the November Challenge at Beccy's Challenges.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Happy Crafting.

Christmas Frame - Santa and his Sleigh

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you had a good weekend. Both me and my husband have been suffering with sore throats and coughs which seem to be worse at night. During the day it doesn't stop you doing much. On Saturday we ordered a cooker to replace our part broken one. We also made a start on our Christmas shopping, at last. On Sunday we worked in the garden there is a lot to clear up after the drive being done. In the evening we went to Christmas choir practice. It is nice to do something a bit different. Unfortunately today I have woken up with a bad headache which is making it a bit hard to get going.

I went to a craft day at the end of October and one of the things we made was a Christmas frame. Using the Stampin Up Santa's Sleigh stamp set with the matching dies. The frame itself came from the well known Scandinavian store.

We made most of the frame design at the workshop. I did tweek it a bit when I got home. Isn't it hard photographing shiny surfaces?

I added a Santa that I made with the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp set with the matching punch. He was coloured with Promarkers.

This wonderful sleigh was made with the dies at the craft day. I added the presents later.

Reindeers stamped and cut out with the dies. I was given the stamps in the craft day goody bag but I couldn't justify buying the dies,  now I am not working. I do like sets that match, so that was a hard decision to make.

My friend was struggling to fill a stall at a Christmas Craft sale and I offered a few items, one of which was the frame, to help her out. You can see it on display in the window It is my first try at trying to sell some things.

I hope you have a good week. There is so much I want to do I hope this headache goes.
