A Lovely Quick Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week. Mine got a lot better after my bad day on Tuesday. I do have some very good friends around me and a very supportive close family. Of course crafting helps. I am making a wreath which involves felting 50 polystyrene balls. Stabbing a needle into something seems to help a lot.

I was playing with some of my new dies. I have been treating myself  a bit lately.

I used the Jane's Tree dies set from the John Next Door range. I also used an embossing folder. It makes are very quick stylish Christmas card. That tree is just so pretty it doesn't really need anything else.

I have made a few of these cards. I just don't seem to be able to stop making Christmas cards. I am sure I have enough now.

Have a great weekend.

Take care.

Tranquil Thinking of You Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I had a bad day yesterday for most of the day I had trouble with a headache that left me feeling quite poorly. Then in the evening we had some bad news from my sister. I know things will be sorted but I was rather upset. I am having coffee with a friend today and I am feeling a lot better.

I made a card for another friend of ours who is in hospital. He went in for a back operation about a month ago and he has been left needing a wheelchair. He is on the list to go to a rehabilitation unit but he caught pneumonia and he is not well enough to go there yet. Obviously we can't visit so I will be sending a few cards.

I have a paper pad from The Works this is where the background paper came from. The ribbon was in my stash.

This image came from an old card. I found the image first and that set the tone of the card.

I didn't feel that Get Well Soon was an appropriate sentiment. Thinking of you seemed to be the right thing to say.

I know he liked this card. He is feeling a bit better as we are getting more WhatsApp messages. He has a long recovery ahead of him.

I hope that the rest of the week is kind to you.

Happy Crafting

October Rudolph Days Challenge - Cheeky Snowman

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Good news our daughter and son-in-law have moved. The move day was last Friday and mostly the rain stayed away. We went up to help. We cleaned, we collected hot drinks from Starbucks, we provided a picnic and we helped a bit with unpacking. We arrived home about 8.00pm just in time to feed the bunnies. We went back on Saturday to help a bit more. On Sunday we had a day at home. Also on Friday we found out that my hubby has been accepted for Voluntary Severance and he will be retiring on 30th November. Life is going to be a bit different.

I have been a bit out of the loop for a few days. I nearly missed the October Rudolph Days Challenge which runs from the 25th until the end of the month.

The blue snowy patterned paper was in my stash.

I have been practising my pencil colouring. This cute little image comes from Bugaboo and is called Snow Friends and it is available HERE.  They were coloured with pencils but for the life of me I can not remember which ones. Oops.

Well another card for my stash. I have made over 100 cards now. I hope that is enough. We are arranging with lots of people not to exchange Christmas presents this year. I will still send Christmas cards though. People are still in our thoughts.

Golden Wedding Anniversary Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We are getting as much sorted here at home before we head off on Friday to help our daughter and son-in-law with their move. I think I will be mostly cleaning. Friday is also the day my husband finds out about his voluntary severance. I hope is it a good day.

I was asked to make a 50th Anniversary card for a friend to give her husband. When I get a commission like this I usually make my own card to give the happy couple.

For the background I used one of the dies from the Sam's Circles die set from the John Next Door range.

All the other dies I used are from Crafter's Companion.

I have had this Crafter's Companion die for a while and this is the first time I have used it. It is rather pretty.

This is the commission card. All the dies I used are from the John Next Door range.

The anniversary was last weekend. It is a shame that they couldn't celebrate the way they wanted to . I think they had a few family and friends round. Celebrations are so different now.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

A New Home Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend. I do feel for the people who are back in lockdown. I wonder when we will be free of this awful virus. Our daughter and son-in-law move at the end of the week. Hopefully we will be able to help them unless something changes of course. Then it will be nearly time for the bunnies to go home. 😊

When I sold some of my cards in the summer all my new home cards were sold. I made this one to replace them. This is not the card I am giving to our daughter and son-in-law it is just one for my stash of cards.

The background is made with Washi tape. I found this tape at a Garden centre last year it is a large roll it will last a long time. It is ideal for new home cards.

The Heart dies I used are from the John Next Door range. The little house die set came free with a magazine sometime ago.

The sentiment was made with a Britannia die set.

Now I had a card in my stash for when I am asked for one.

Have a good week.

The A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge blog - 15th October Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? The good news is that our daughter and son-in-law finally have a moving date. I think about two weeks after that they will be able to have the bunnies back. Then we can start working on the room they have been using  becoming  my craft room.

The mid October Challenge has just started at the A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge blog. The theme is Anything Goes and there are beautiful digi papers on offer as prizes.

I used different papers from the Vintage Christmas set on my card. I saw this sketch somewhere and realised it would be a good one to show off the papers.

Our challenges are lots of fun and the papers really are worth winning. Click on the logo and you will be taken straight to the challenge.

To make this little winter scene I combined dies from two sets from the John Next Door range: Sam's Circles die set  and Christmas Time die set.

I do like this design. I think I will make a few more cards like this one.

Enjoy the rest of the week

A Trio of Baby Cards

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend. Our local garden centre is having an offer on breakfasts this month. So on Saturday we met our friends there and enjoyed breakfast together. On Sunday our daughter and son-in-law came for lunch and to visit their bunnies who they are missing a lot. Hopefully they will be in their new house soon and then they can have the bunnies back.

Last week I decided to make some new baby cards. These are the cards that are quite often in demand.

The backing paper was in my stash. The bunnies were cut with an All Occasions die set. The Congratulations die is from the John Next Door range.

This sentiment is a Creative Expressions die. I made it a drop shadow.

I made a boy version. The embossing folder and the It's a Boy sentiment are from Creative Expressions.

Here is the girl version.

There they are all together ready and waiting for when I am asked for a card at short notice.

Not Just Cards Challenge blog - Anything Goes - October Challenge

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are having a good weekend. We are having a quiet one there are still lots of jobs to catch up on. Our daughter and son-in-law still don't have a moving date so we still have the bunnies.

The October Challenge has just started at the Not Just Cards Challenge blog. The theme is Anything Goes. This is a card that I made for my uncle who is in a care home in Devon.

I do like making nautical themed cards. The patterned papers came from a paper pad I bought in The Works.

Our challenge are always fun. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

To create the frame I used the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions. The scene was created with the Nautical Scenes die set that came free with a magazine some time ago.

I used the Stitched Flag dies from Creative Expressions to make this panel. The ship's wheel came from the Nautical Scenes die set.

I hope my uncle liked this card.

Enjoy your day.

Dr Who themed Happy Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? We have had ups and downs like most people. We are now waiting to see what the new lockdown measures are for us.

Here is the birthday card I made for a friend. I asked our daughter to draw an image for a Dr Who fan and she obliged.

In the background I used one of my inky kitchen roll papers. The stars were cut with dies that come with the Champagne die set from John Next Door. It is great to be able to cut out so many stars at the same time.

This image came to me pre-coloured so the card was very quick to make. I am so pleased that our daughter has started drawing again. It is such a lovely skill to have.

I am not sure if this card made it to it's destination but it was a fun one to work on.

Have a great weekend.

Happy crafting

A Special Birthday Card for a Special Lady

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We have been quite busy there always seems to be so much to do.

I have been looking through my files and I found a twisted easel birthday card that I had never shared.

The patterned paper was from my stash. I cut into the paper with a Sizzix die. This reveals the colour of the card underneath.

I created the sentiment on the computer. I used a Creative Expressions die to cut a frame for the sentiment.

From the John Next Door range I used the Gerbera die, the Leafy Flourish die and the Small Butterfly die set.

The stopper for the easel was made with the centre of the Creative Expressions die.

I know the lady that received this was thrilled to receive this card.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Christmas Star Nativity Scene Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend in spite of the weather. We did have a lot of rain. Our plans on Sunday were cancelled so we had a whole weekend catching up on jobs around the house. I even managed to get out to buy a pair of shoes.

When I have been making larger card blanks. There is usually a strip of card left over and I have been using this to make much smaller card blanks. Now I have quite a few of the smaller card blanks and I decided to use one.

When I was tidying some of my craft stash I came across some card blanks that had this pattern on one side. So I cut one down to go at the back of this card.

The frame was cut with the Christmas Star die set from the John Next Door range. I don't think it is available this year. For the scene inside the frame I used a mix of dies from the Nativity and O Little Town die sets from the John Next Door range. All the card I used on this card came from my Snippets stash. .

As I said I have quite of few of this size of card blank. I might be using them to make more cards with this design.

Winter Wonderland Challenge blog - Theme Penguins - Sponsor Twinkle Lane Designs

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? Yesterday I helped at a Felting Workshop and I am helping at another one today. It is all very well organised there were less than 6 of us and we were all spaced out. I had a visor to wear too. Life is getting a bit busier all round.

The new challenge has started at the Winter Wonderland Challenge blog. The theme is Penguins and the sponsor is Twinkle Lane Designs

The tartan paper was actually a card blank which I cut down to make a mat. After I had coloured the image I thought the colours went together well.
There are lots of wonderful images in the store. If you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This image is called Snow Penguin and it is available HERE. I printed onto Neenah card stock and I coloured the image with my Faber Castell Polychromo colouring pencils.  I used the Double Pierced Rectangle dies from Creative Expressions to cut the image and it's mats.

This sentiment comes with the image. I used the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions to cut it out.

I hope you have time to join in with our challenge.

Challenge #80 at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog - Anything Goes - Sponsor Artsy Stamper

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are having a good week. The first of the month is busy in blogland. Here I am with a second post today.

As the title of this post says Challenge #80 has just started at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog. The theme is Anything Goes and the sponsor is Artsy Stamper.

I chose this set to use. I love sunflowers.

There are many delightful images sets in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

I used the pre-coloured sunflower and added Glossy Accents to the centre of the flower.

The bumble bee die comes from the Dovecrafts Bee Happy die set.

As I have said I love sunflowers. This is one of the ones that I grew from seed this year. I have still got a few in flower at the moment. I will save some seeds for next year the birds can have the rest.

The backing paper and the sentiment come with the set. I can see myself using these images a lot.

Happy Crafting

Take care.
