My Card in Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine April Issue 151

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? My husband has been home so not much crafting has been done but we have caught up on lots of jobs and we have had some fun days out.

A few weeks back I applied to be on the Reader's Design Team for issue 151 of Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine. They chose 10 of us and sent us the bonus papers for that issue. Only three appear in the magazine and all of them are displayed on the Facebook page. I was thrilled, when I bought my issue, that my card was one of the ones featured.

The papers that were sent were so pretty and there were sentiments and embellishments too. I just added some dark pink card and some lace.

I trimmed the edge off of the Thank You sentiment so that it would fit in the Lacy Oval die-cut. The flower came from the magazine.

Here is the double page spread and you can see some of the bonus papers.

A close up on my card in the magazine. You make the card and send it to them so that they can photograph it properly.

This is a very pretty card I think I will be making another one. It is a thrill to see something you have made in print.

I hope the rest of the week is kind to you. Just a little warning I will be posting three times tomorrow. It is not like me but three of the design teams I am on start their challenges tomorrow. So needs must.

Happy Crafting

Wedding Makes and Wedding Photos

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. We very much enjoyed the wedding on  Saturday and then we had a a day with our daughter on Sunday followed by a day to chill on Monday.

Now on to what I promised I would show you.

Here are most of the things I made for the wedding. I did make some evening invitations but I couldn't find one of those to put in this picture.

Here are the happy couple surrounded by some of  their family and friends. The wedding and the reception all took place in the Explosion Museum in Gosport.

This is the card I made for them I kept the theme of the invitations for the design.

A little gift that I made for them I did blog this a few weeks ago. I am planning to make another one as another cousin is getting married in July.

This is the reading that was read at the wedding.

This is the table plan at the venue. I was very pleased with how this turned out. The happy couple gave me an admiralty chart which we found a frame for. You can just about see the silver ships they were cut with my ScanNcut I was so pleased that this worked. My husband helped a lot he did all the work on the computer. Even finding me silhouettes of warships to be cut with the ScanNcut.

All the tables had one of these cards on them. The tables were named after missiles.

On the back of the table card were instructions to get a code to open the padlock on a crate which contained things we needed for the reception.

Everyone had a place card and helpfully we had put their  menu choices inside.

There was an Ammo crate for cards and presents.

There was also a sweet buffet table.

This is the cake made of cheese and the brides bouquet.

It was a very well organised wedding and lots of fun. There were lots of things for the guests today including a photo booth where many very silly photos were taken.

Not so silly with my husband's parents and our daughter and her fiancé,

Very silly with our daughter and her fiancé my husband is hiding.

The next wedding I will be making things for will be our daughter's wedding in fact we are visiting a venue with them on Wednesday.

Take care.

Happy Easter Bunnies Galore

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Happy Easter to one and all. Just a quick post from me as today is all about precious family time. The wedding was brilliant but more of that for another day.

I am sharing the Easter Card that I made for our daughter and her fiancé. They have a couple of rabbits hence the design.

Everything was die-cut.

I love the combination of yellow and green for Spring and Easter it reminds me of all the beautiful Spring flowers.

I hope that you all have a wonderful Easter Sunday.

Take care.

Fantasy Stampers - In the Springtime

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a great weekend. It is Easter Sunday tomorrow it has come round so fast this year. Today is the day of the wedding. We will be setting off soon. All the things I made were dropped off yesterday. I am taking a little repair kit with me just in case, you never know what might happen.

The new challenge starts today on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blog and the theme is In the Spring Time.

This is one of the cards that I sent to John Lockwood for him to have for his shows on Hochanda on 20th and 21st March. I sent him five cards and a tag. You could see them at the back of the set and one of the cards and the tag were shown properly.

I used the Primrose Elements and the Primrose Hearts Everyday Sentiments stamp sets designed by John Lockwood for Creative Expressions. The background was created with a resist technique.

I used the Sue Wilson Heart of Hearts die to create the mat for the beautiful heart. I do love Primroses that is why I was drawn to these stamps.

I did enjoy seeing my cards on Hocanda. I need to thank John Lockwood for this wonderful opportunity.  The stamps are lovely to work with.

If you check back on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blog tomorrow the winners of the last challenge will be announced.

Happy Easter

Under the Sea with a little Mermaid

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? Are you all prepared for Easter? Just one more day and it will be the Easter holidays for me and just two days to go until the wedding.

I have been playing with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens again. I hunted through my stash until I found this LOTV stamp of a cute little mermaid.

For the background  I added lots of die-cut nautical images including anchors, ships and ship's wheels. I added a doily for good measure.

I wish you could see the sparkle in the photo graph. I used watercolour paper and I stamped the image in black archival. Now for the confession I had to put a die-cut on the image to hide a smudge at the bottom of the image. Covering the smudge affected the whole design.

I was quite pleased with how the card turned out in the end. I do love the Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens and I think I will have to buy some more.

Enjoy the rest of the week. The weather has been very nice here but I think it will have changed by the weekend which is a shame for the wedding.

Primrose Cards on Hochanda

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? We are now well into the run up to Easter but it all seems a bit early to me. The Wedding I have made all the things for is on Easter Saturday. When it is all over I will blog my makes and I will try to get a picture of the happy couple to share with you. We are dropping everything off on Friday before the wedding on Saturday.

I bought my self some of John Lockwood's latest release of stamps. I love Primroses and I went for the Primrose Element stamps and the Primrose Hearts Everyday Sentiment sets. I am friends with John on Facebook and we have met a few times in person. I sent John a message saying I had bought the stamps and he asked to see what I made with them. So I did and he asked to borrow them for his shows on Hochanda starting on 20th March for a one day special.

This is what I sent in I must admit that the stamps were very nice to work with.

This is my tag being shown by Alex Turchyn.

In the background of this photo you can see my cards on the shelf at the back they are all yellow and green I am a bit of a traditionalist.

This is my card being shown by Hayley West. I was watching this on Catch-up.

Here is a close up on the tag. Some of the other items will be blogged properly as I am going to use them for Design Team pieces.

John has promised to send all the samples back. I have really enjoyed this experience and I would happily do it all again.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Poppy meets Sparkle pens

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How has your weekend been so far. As predicted we have mostly been making thing for our niece's wedding which is next week on Easter Saturday. It all took a lot longer than I thought and we still have one quite long job to finish tomorrow. I will photograph everything and blog it after the wedding. Everything is very nicely themed.

I made this card for my Mother-in-law's birthday she loves poppies. To be honest I wanted another chance to play with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens and I thought this Penny Black stamp would be a good choice.

I made the the frame with some Sue Wilson noble dies.

The image was stamped in black archival ink and coloured with my sparkle pens. I did use a brush and some water to move the colour around.

I use the dining room table for everything this is what it looked like when I was writing my Easter cards. All the cards that I can give by hand get a small chocolate bunny.

I am sure my Mother-in-law will love this card. I think poppies are her favourite flower.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Take care.

Playing with Sparkle Pens again!

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Happy Friday, the gateway to the weekend. I hope you have something nice planned. I will be making the last few bits for the wedding which is following week on Easter Saturday. I have set a cut off point for changes and the bride and groom were happy with this. I have done lots of prep so hopefully it won't take too long.

On to today's creation. Well after playing with the Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens at my friend's house I decided I had to have my own. They arrived on Wednesday and I couldn't wait for a play.

I found this stamp in my stash it came free with a magazine sometime ago and it is designed to go with the Spellbinder's Lacey Circle dies. I stamped the image onto watercolour paper with an Archival  Black ink and waited for it to dry. Once it was dry I coloured the image with the Sparkle pens. At my friend's house I used a water brush. I don't have one of these yet so I used and watercolour paint brush and some water. This worked fine to draw out the colour from the pens.

This was a lovely image  to colour with the pens. The sparkle doesn't show in the photo but it is there I can assure you. I do like these pens I think I will be buying some more. I added a pattered paper and some lace and the card was finished.

I think you will be seeing me using these pens a lot. Enjoy your weekend.

Scenic Happy Birthday

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How has your week been so far? I was on a school trip yesterday to Marwell Zoo. It was a good trip we walked so far the weather was good and lots of the animals were out. I was exhausted yesterday evening, school trips do that to me, I didn't get much done.

I am striving to get well ahead with the cards I need to make. I have no idea when my daughter is going to want her Save the Date cards made and I want to be ready when she tells me what she wants. I must say she and her fiancé are looking at some very exciting wedding venues including London Zoo. I have started a page at the top of my blog to keep track of all the bits that I make towards the wedding I thought it would make a kind of diary. Anyway back to the point I made a birthday card for my dad today even though his birthday isn't until May. I have to admit that it was rather quick make.

I have had this Kanban image in my stash for a while and I decided it would make a great card for my dad. He likes doing puzzles and this topper looks like one of the scenes on the jigsaws he does.  Black and gold seemed like the obvious choice for the mats but I wanted a green and brown backing paper. There wasn't one in my stash so I decide to make one with two small leaf stamps, some Perfect Medium, two shades of embossing powder and three different shades of green Distress Ink. In about 5 minutes I had the background I wanted. The sentiment came from the Kanban sheet.

I only had my phone to take photos at the zoo yesterday we did get very close to the giraffes they were all in their house keeping out of the wind.

I am sure that my dad will like this card he never really says much.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Happy Easter - Daffodil

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you had a great weekend. The weather was certainly nice and I even ventured out without my coat for the first time in ages. Despite me having a cold we did all the things we were planning. We had a very nice meal on Sunday with the Bride and Groom, I have been making bits for, and our daughter and her fiancé. There was time to talk about the last few bits and pieces we need to make for the wedding that is less than two weeks away.

I am  up to date and I have all my Easter cards made. This is the last one to share with you.

This is just a 6" x 6" card. I wanted to use my Heartfelt creations Daffy Daffodils stamp set. Also I saw a card using the Spellbinders label dies and I remembered they were in my stash so I wanted to use them too.  The background was created with one of the stamps from the set stamped with CS Perfect Medium and the heat embossed with a clear sparkly embossing powder. Then I inked over the mat with yellow and green shades of Distress Ink.

I stamped the daffodil in brown ink and heat embossed it with a clear powder then I coloured it with my Promarkers.

This is a Clarity Stamp sentiment.

It isn't long till Easter now that is the weekend of the wedding so we are going to be very busy.

Have a great week.

Happy Crafting.

Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blog - Easter Parade

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. I wonder what plans you have? Today I will be working of some of the wedding bits I still need to make. My husband will be helping me put the menu choices inside the place setting cards. On Sunday we are meeting the bride and groom along with our daughter and her fiancé as they haven't met him before and he is invited to the wedding.

There is a new challenge starting today on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blog and the theme is Easter Parade. I haven't just made one card I have made lots of cards. Altogether I made 22 of these cards they are the ones I will be sending out to people this Easter. They are just right for posting being nice and flat and small.

The stamp I used I won in a raffle at the charity craft day I went to a few weeks ago now. It is by Stampin Up and is called Blessed Easter. The tulips and the sentiment are all on the one stamp. It was just brilliant for batch card making.

This is one of the yellow cards in more detail. You can see that I used the Heart Lattice embossing folder to create the background.

The stamp was stamped in black and then heat embossed with a clear detail powder, The tulips were coloured with my Promakers.

I made these in batches of four. There are several of each colour.

If you pop back to the Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blog tomorrow the winners of the last challenge will be announced.

Enjoy your weekend.
