Beautiful Lady Birthday Card for my Friend

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend. The the weather has been a bit changeable here, On Saturday we attended a free music event in Southampton. There were so many venues and so many acts and it was all free. The best bit was that we were able to get into some places that aren't usually open like two medieval underground vaults Then on Sunday we had lunch with friends at our local garden centre so we could plan our up coming trip to London. We were home in time for our daughter and son-in-law to come to collect their hamster. It has been a great weekend,

I am sharing the birthday card that I made for my good friend.

She loves 1920's ladies. So when I was given a pre-used card with this gorgeous lady on it I had to save it to make a card for her. The paper and ribbon were in my stash.

I cut the image and it's mat with the Double Pierced Rectangles from Creative expressions.

The shoes were cut with a Crafter's Companion die.

The image had to be trimmed and there was section of the skirt left over. I used this to cut out the Happy Birthday with one of my Crafter's Companion dies.

It was my friend's birthday last week. I know she loved this card. I have a Christmas image I can use for her too.

Moving Along with the Times - Wedding or Anniversary

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have another morning of invigilating ahead. But after I am going out to lunch with a friend for her birthday which will be lovely. We might even visit a craft store. We both make cards.

Today the new challenge starts at the Moving Along with the Times Challenge blog. There is some news about the challenge blog over there as well. The theme of the challenge has been chosen by CAZ and it is Wedding or Anniversary.

I made this card a while back for our good friends who like to dance.

For the background I used the Foston Fold die set from the John Next Door range.

Why not pop over to the challenge blog and join in with the fun? Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

Over the top I added a dancing couple. This die is called First Dance and it is a Signature die.

The flowers were cut with a small die that comes with the Foston Fold Die set. I added die cuts made with the Leafy Flourish die set. They match the leaves on the Foston Fold die. I am  a sucker for things that match. I added some small butterflies as well.

Their anniversary was back in July it is about the same time as our Daughter and son-in-law's. I have made a lot of wedding and anniversary cards this year.,

Elegant Tent Fold Christmas Card.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have had a couple of quiet days but now I have got three days of invigilating ahead. This is for tests of the new students. I haven't  been at these tests before. The pupils will probably seem quite small after the Year 11s last summer.

I have been trying to enter the Rudolf Days Challenge each month (it starts on the 25th and runs until the end of the month).  It has really kept me on track with my Christmas cards.

I treated myself to issue 56 of Die-Cutting Essentials Magazine with it's amazing set of Christmas dies.

This is tent fold card and it is made from the card that was left when I cut a card blank for a wedding card. The paper has been in my stash for a while.

This is a lovely bold sentiment that makes a nice focal point for the card.

I made a little sway for the top and bottom of the sentiment with come of the other dies in the set.

I was rather pleased with how this card turned out. I may well make some more.

Winter Westies Snippets Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend. On Saturday we went to the Berkshire County Show at the Newbury Showground it was a wonderful sunny day. Then in the evening we went to the Newbury Corn Exchange where we saw An Evening with Eric and Ern. It was brilliant and really did bring back memories. Then on Sunday we did a few bits in the garden between showers. The week ahead will be filled with invigilating and crafting.

I was looking back through my old photos and I found another card that I have not shared with you.

I made another Snippets background with papers I had been saving. Now more that ever I don't  throw anything away. The cross grain ribbon was in my stash I have lots.

The image I used is from the Winter Westie Collection from Fred She Said available HERE. As the image was a PNG I was able to make my own background on the computer. Digi images are easy to flip so the doggies are facing each other. I printed onto Neenah card and I coloured with my Promarkers.

I have recently taken to not putting sentiments on my cards until I need them.

That's all until Wednesday.

Have a great week.

A New Home Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? I hope you have something nice planned for the weekend. We are spending Saturday with our son-in-law's parents. They  have bought us tickets to see a show at the theatre in Newbury. During the day we are all going to the Newbury County Show. It should be a good day. If you are wondering where our daughter and son-in-law will be, well they are on holiday in New York. They come back on Sunday.

Some time back our daughter asked me to make a New Home for one of her work colleagues. I didn't have much time to make the card. So I turned to my Hunkydory Book of images and I found a brilliant one.

I had some paper left over from a Hunkydory paper pad which nicely matched the green in the image.

This was such a great image to use.

These charms came from The Works I just couldn't resist them.

I was pleased with how this card came together.

Have a great weekend

First Wedding Anniversary Card - Memories of Malta

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? It is certainly nice to see the sun today. I am off out with a friend for lunch later which will be nice.

I have been looking through my files and I found a card that I hadn't shared yet. In fact there are quite a few.

This is the first anniversary card for the couple that got married in Malta last year. For their save the date cards we printed the information on the back of Maltese  postcards. I have quite a few postcards left. I used two here to make the background. I have a pad of nautical paper from The Works I used one of the sheets to frame the design,

The die I used is by Crafter's Companion and is called Just Married and is from the Rustic Wedding Collection. It was just simply cut from white card. We all did have a lovely time exploring Malta. One day I would like to go back.

The anniversary was back in August. It always surprises me how quickly the time goes.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge blog - 15th September Challenge

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your weekend going? Yesterday we went to our local theatre to see Murder She Didn't Write. It was an improvised murder mystery and lots of fun. We have just got to the end of my husband having a week off. We have fitted a lot in, it has been good.

You may have noticed from my sidebar that I have joined a Design Team.  I responded to the Design Team Call at the A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge blog. The theme is Anything Goes and there are Challenge on 1st and 15th of the month. Today is my first time sharing for them. Lozzy the owner has Design Papers that we can use and that are offered as prizes. There is a wonderful selection of papers.

For my card I used the Vintage Christmas papers and the Day Star papers they made a great background for the manger scene. The Snow Globe was a die from The Works.

Why not join in with our challenge. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

To create this scene I used dies from the John Next Door range: the Nativity Scenes die set and the Oh Little Town  Scenes die set. I do like how some of the little dies are together on one plate that way there is less chance of loosing them.

I did enjoy making this card in fact I made four.. I might just make some more.

Not Just Cards Challenge Blog - September Challenge

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going?  My hubby is off work and we have been catching up with lots of things that needed sorting out. This morning he got up early and went to take our daughter and son-in-law to the airport. I am helping at a Felting Workshop today.

Being 11th of the month. The new challenge starts at the Not Just Cards Challenge blog and the theme is Anything Goes.

I am sharing a baby card that I made when our great nephew was born back in August. We still haven't met him yet but he looks super cute in all the photos.

I do like these Tri-shutter cards. They are just great for all those small baby themed dies that I have in my collection. Because I make this style of card from scratch it is easy to make the mats and layers. The backing paper was in my stash it is all over covered in little hearts. I used many different makes of dies to make this card.
Why not join in with our challenge? Click on the logo and it will take you to the Blog.

All the scoring was done with my Hougie board. I used a craft knife to make the slits.

I do like making this style of card.

Tiny Cute Sheep Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? I hope you got up to something nice. On Saturday we headed down to Mill Rythe a holiday camp on Hayling Island and we had a visit with our in-laws who were staying there with friends. On Sunday our daughter and son-in-law dropped off the hamster, we are looking after her while they go on holiday. Then along with our son-in-law's parents we had a meal at our local garden centre. Finally we  went to the Dinosaur Crazy golf which has opened near us. I have to say is just amazing and lots of fun.

This card started life as an off-cut from a larger card. I had been using the cloud dies on another project and I decided I wanted to make a sheep with the dies.

This is just a 4" x 4" card. I found a Spellbinders die that cut a border of flowers. I cut them in white card and coloured them with my Sparkle pens. The clouds are Crafter's Companion dies and seagulls are from the Nautical Scenes die set. I used spotty green paper for the grass. The sky is another dotty paper. Basically I raided my scrap box of bits.

This is such a clever die set. You can make the sheep face on or facing to either side. It is a Marianne die set it is called Eline's Sheep.

Here we all are enjoying the Dinosaur Crazy golf. There were moving dinosaurs, growling dinosaurs,  a viking boat and a vivid blue waterfall.

I am happy to say that this was one of the cards that sold at the Hampshire Open Studios event. I might just make another one.

Winter Wonderland Challenge blog - Use Your Favourite Embellishments

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week and that you have something nice planned for the weekend. Next week my husband has the week off work. I can't tell what we will be doing as the plans keep changing. On Sunday our daughter and son-in-law are bringing their hamster so that we can look after her while they are away. The plan is for them to come to lunch and then we will head to the Dinosaur Crazy Golf that popped up recently right here where we live. I will let you know how we get on.

The new challenge starts today at the Winter Wonderland Challenge blog. The theme is "Use Your Favourite Embellishments". The sponsor is the fabulous Bugaboo Stamps.

Though you can hardly see it there is some really pretty patterned paper in the background.

There are many wonderful images in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This image is called Christmas Teddy 2 Ornaments and is available HERE.  As there was a PNG version of the image I was able to make a background on the computer and put the image on top. I printed onto Neenah card stock and I coloured the image with my Promarkers.

One of my embellishments was the addition of the Snowflake corner dies from Creative Expressions. I added a pearl to the centre of the snowflakes.

At the bottom I added some ribbon. I really like this ribbon it came on a present and it has nearly all gone.

That is another card for my Christmas card pile. Which is slowly getting bigger. I can see me making cards in a rush at the end again this year like last year.

Don't forget to join in with our challenge.

Beccy's Place - Cottage Garden Clear Stamp Set

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? The schools are going back round here this week. This will make things a bit quieter when I go out for my walks. It is definitely starting to feel like Autumn now.

I was very lucky and Beccy sent me the Cottage Garden Clear Stamp set to make some samples with. This is available HERE.  Beccy does ship worldwide but there is also a  Digi set of these images available HERE.

I started off by making lots of backgrounds using the smaller stamps and some Distress Oxides. For the main image on this card I embossed the stamp with gold embossing powder. Then I used Distress Oxides to paint the image this gave me more control over where the colours went.

I used much the same method with this image.

If you click on the logo you will be taken to the post featuring my cards.

With this card I embossed the stamp with white embossing powder. I used the resist technique to colour the image. With the urn I lifted some of the colour with water to give a paler colour.

Just a little card using one of the other stamps in the set.

I also made a tag. The tag die set came from the works.

Here are all my cards together. I do like these colours. I don't do much stamping now but I did enjoying getting inky and messy making these cards.
