Beccy's Place - Irish Blessings - A Hat Full of Shamrock

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? I hope you have something nice planned for the weekend. For us Saturday will be a day to catch up on things. I hope that we get some time to go to the shops. I want to buy a new coat. On Sunday we will be having our regular meeting with my husband's brothers and their wives to discuss the finances and care of my in-laws.

I am one of the blog contributors for Beccy's Place. This week is Encore Week where some of the older image sets are revisited. It is the turn of Irish Blessing Digital Stamps set.

When I made this card I didn't have much time. I love my mats and layers and I used colours from the image to influence my choices.

I just love this Irish blessing. I think it could be used on a card for someone about to set off travelling.

Don't these shamrocks look great in the hat. Using a pre-coloured image saves so much time.

This is a great card to have in my stash.

Have a great weekend.

Dog and Cat Friends at Christmas

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We have had quite a lot of rain here again. I did manage to get out for a good walk yesterday. For today I am helping at a Felting Workshop this morning. Later I am going into town with our good  friends to see their grandson in a play. We will meet my hubby there. Hopefully there will be time to get a meal. I will let you know how we will get on.

I do like to join in with the Rudolph Days Challenge it does keep me on track with my Christmas cards.

A little will ago I made an easel Christmas card. I so liked the bottom panel I decided to adapt it to make a DL card. The background paper came from the first John Next Door box magazine.

These trees were cut with the Creative Expressions Winter Trees dies.

This cute little cat and dog came from the Crafter's Companion Advent Calendar.

The sentiment came from there too.

I was very pleased with how this turned out. In fact I made two. I have made over 30 Christmas cards so far this year.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Happy birthday to "Ewe"

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? I had a fantastic Crafty Time. On Saturday we went to the Farnborough Craft Show we caught up with lots of friends and of course I bought a few things. It would have been rude not to. We visited my parents  as they live nearby. Overnight we stayed in a hotel we had a lovely room and a very nice meal in the restaurant. On Sunday after a big breakfast my husband dropped me off for a bonus workshop with Lisa Pearce (stamping) and John Lockwood (die cutting). I made two lovely cards and I have two cards to finish at home. My hubby spent the day with his parents. They all collected me after the workshop and we had a meal together before we set off home. I will share the cards I made when I have finished the ones I brought home.

It was the birthday of the lady who looks after our cow in France with her husband on their farm. They recently acquired some sheep. So I decided to make her a fun Birthday card.

When I am going to colour an image I do print them quite large. I was able to place the sheep onto a background I had made on the computer.

This image is called Birthday Ewe Trio and it is available HERE from Bugaboo stamps. I printed onto Neenah cardstock and I coloured the image with Promarkers.

I was able to place the sentiment that came with the image above the sheep before everything was printed. The cute bunting die is from Crafter's Companion.

Apart from the colouring this was quite a quick card to make. I do like Bugaboo images.

Have a great week

Pretty Floral Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? It is wet and windy here today. There is nothing for it but to stay in and craft 🙂. I do have some phoning calls and messages I need to sort out this will be a good opportunity to get this done. There is always so much to do.

Last week I made this card for a lovely family member who we have recently got back in touch with.

The floral paper came from a Nautical paper pad from The Works. This pretty paper was on the back of one of the designs. I just loved the colours. I am trying to make my cards smaller and less bulky so they don't cost so much to send.

I cut the Happy Birthday with a Creative Expressions die. I usually cut a second colour to make a shadow. I think it helps the sentiment to show up.

To decorate round the oval for the sentiment I used the Star Flower and the Star Flower Leaves dies from the John Next Door range from Crafts-Too.

This card went in the post this week. I have a bit of an exciting crafty weekend ahead. On Saturday we are going to the Farnborough Craft show. Now as our family are all close we are going to stay up there on Saturday night. This will give us a chance to pop in and see my parents. On the Sunday I am booked into a bonus workshop arranged by the Art of Craft shop. While I am at the workshop my hubby will visit his parents.

I hope you enjoy your day whatever you get up to.

Happy Crafty

Warm Fuzzies Digital Stamps from Beccy's Place

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? The storm certainly caused some damage in lots of places. We lost a panel on our conservatory roof. Fortunately our lovely neighbour helped us to replace it. We have a lot of wet things that need to dry out and some permanent repairs that need to happen. Apart from that the forms for my parents application for Attendance Allowance are in the post. It really did take most of the weekend to fill them in. Now we just have to wait and see.

Last week Beccy Muir from Beccy's Place posted some cute koala images and I just had to have them.

I found the paper in my stash. I liked the pattern at the edge of the paper.

The image set is called Warm Fuzzies and is available HERE.  I used a pre-coloured image and I placed it onto my own background that I had made on the computer. I cut the image and I black mat with the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions.

This sentiment is from another of Beccy's image sets.

I think this will make a nice birthday card. I was asked for a new home card today and I didn't have one so I am off to make one.

A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge 110 - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope that you have had a good week. I had a lot to do this week and then of Friday, my free day, I got a bad headache. This made it hard to get anything done. The weather doesn't seem to be too promising this weekend. I have forms to fill in for my parents and that will take up much of the weekend. I haven't been blogging much lately. Life seems to be very busy.

Challenge 110 starts today at the A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge blog. The theme is Anything Goes and there are some fab digi papers on offer as prizes.

This is my hubby's Valentine's Day card. I used the Love Digi papers to make this card.

The challenges are always Anything Goes. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

These panda come from the  Bear Hugs digital stamp set from Beccy's Place. I used some of the John Next Door heart dies to cut the large heart and it's mat. The little hearts come from the Heart of Hearts die from Creative Expressions.

I can't remember the make for these dies.

Yesterday we shared the M&S Valentine's Day meal deal. I was given some flowers too.

Not Just Cards Challenge Blog - February Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? Strictly Live was fabulous. We had so much fun with our friends. My hubby is back home safe and sound now after his trip to York.

The February Challenge has stared are at the Not Just Cards Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes.

I am sharing a first birthday card I made for the little lad of friends of ours. In fact they are the friends that are looking after our cow, along with others, in France.

I know it is a bit traditional to use blue for a boy. The paper was in in stash.

Our challenges are always fun. Click on the blog logo and you will be taken there.

This is such a cute image. It is from an LOTV pack of images that I have had for a while. I raided my scrap box for all the die cuts. I try hard not to start a new sheet of card just for small dies.

This is a Crafter's Companion die.

The Alphabet and Numbers are also Crafter's Companion dies.

This cute little bunting die came with the Crafter's Companion Advent calendar last year.

This card along with some presents went to France earlier this year.

Winter Wonderland - February Challenge - Tribute to Eileen - Anything Christmas Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week and are ready for the weekend. I am helping with a Felting Workshop today it will be my first one of the year. On Saturday I have a whole day on my own. My hubby will be visiting some of his university friends. Then on Sunday I am going with  my friends  to London. The plan is to meet my hubby there. We are booked to see Strictly Live at the O2. I am looking forward to it.

The new challenge has started at the Winter Wonderland Challenge blog. This is a special challenge as it is a tribute to Eileen the original owner of the challenge. She passed away in 2017. The sponsor for this special event is SheepSki Designs and the theme is Anything Christmas Goes.

When I printed the image I printed a patterned sheet for the background on the same sheet. I always fill a sheet when I am printing.

There are many wonderful images in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

Here is a picture Eileen she is sadly missed.

This is image is called Snowboardin' image 164 and it is available HERE. I printed onto Neenah card stock and the image is coloured with Promarkers.

This snowflake border die came from The Works last year. It has proved to very useful.

The Merry Christmas was cut from the waste from the centre strip in the design. The die I used is from Crafter's Companion.

On a slightly sad note. I have been forced to turn on comment moderation. I seem to be getting a deluge of spam comments at the moment. I am sure I am not the only one. They seem to be after free advertising and I don't want to help them.

Beatles themed Bow Fronted Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? I hope you are ready for the week ahead. I was ill on Friday which also made Saturday a bit tricky but I am much better now. We did visit my parents on Sunday. We met their live in carer for the first time. She is very nice and she is doing a very good job. My parents seem quite content too which is wonderful. For the time being I feel that it is the right place for them to be. I am going to try to apply for Attendance Allowance for them. Has anyone any experience with this?

There has been  internet issues today so I am a bit later posting than I expected. I also changed my mind about which card to post. I went for the Christmas card that I made for my hubby last year.

I cut a square 8" x 8" piece of black card. I also cut a strip on back card that was longer than 8".

I decorated the back of the card first. I was using Beatles images from Vera Lane Studio. They come in two sets and there are quotes with both sets. I like to use a brick wall image and add the quotes in white.

I coloured the Beatles with Promarkers. The panel at the front was decorated. It has tabs that were stuck under the mat and layers for the back panel. On the back is more brick graffiti and a Christmas Tree from the Oh Holy Night set from Beccy's Place. The bowed front helps the card stand up nicely.

I knew these images from Vera Lane Studio would be very useful. I added the hats myself. Expect to see them quite a lot. I have Beatles mad friends and a Beatles mad husband.

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge #72 - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week. Invigilating is finished for the time being. Unfortunately I could do the last day as I had a sickness bug. I still don't feel quite right. We are supposed to be visiting family on Sunday I will have to see how I am.

Who can believe that it is February already? Time for the new challenge at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog the theme is Anything Goes and the sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps.

The backing paper was in my stash.

There are so many wonderful images in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

The image I used is called Thank You Tulip Block and it is available HERE. I chose this image because you need thank you cards after Christmas.

The Tulips are beautiful. I printed the image onto a background I made on the computer. I coloured the Tulips with Promarkers. The blue of the background was pale enough to be covered with colour.

I got the Tulip die with the previous year's Crafter's Companion Advent calendar. The flower pot is a Spellbinders die.
