A Bit More Time to Craft Extra Challenge for May

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you getting on? It is my birthday next week and I have got no idea how to celebrate while we are in lockdown. Just to warn you this is going to be a busy bloggy day I have three design team cards that I need to share.

My first is for the A Bit More Time to Craft Extra Challenge. The May Challenge starts today and the theme is always Anything Goes.

I made a birthday pop up card for my lovely cousin. I used the Gingham papers to make my creation. I do have a tutorial on my blog for making this type of card you can see it HERE.

Our challenges are always fun and there are lovely digi papers to win. Click on the logo and you will be taken to the challenge blog.

The flowers were cut with the Cornflower die from the John Next Door range. I used the Gerbera Leaves dies from the same range. I made the stems myself.

On the front panel I put the sentiment. Both the bunting and the sentiment are Crafter's Companion dies.

My cousin and her family have a rescue dog of whom they are very fond.

The card folds up nicely for posting.

I haven't made this style of card for a while. They are very effective and popular.

I will be back in an hour with my next post.

In the meantime I will joining in will Barbara Gray's Doodling session. This week has been all Japanese.

Sent with Love - Floral Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I know I have lots to do I just don' t seem to be able to get on with things at the moment. Quite a few things are in a state of change at the moment and I am finding it all rather unsettling. Nothing is bad just different.

I made a birthday card for someone special. All the dies I used are from the John Next Door range.

I knew I wanted to use the Oakham Lattice die set but I wanted a larger card. So I allowed for the large border around the die cut. Whenever I used John's dies the area around the bin is always covered in lots of little bits.

I used the Gerbera flower and leaves dies to make a floral display. The person I made this for loves flowers. It is great how you can cut so  many at the same time. The Sent with Love sentiment comes with the Small Butterfly die set.

I had to add some of the small butterflies as well.

I know this card has been received so it is okay to share it now. I do like making larger cards. This one went in a parcel so it didn't effect the postage costs.

Lattice and Gerbera Birthday card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We have another busy day today it is our 37th Wedding Anniversary. The plan is to head into Southampton to have coffee. Then we will visit the Da Vinci Exhibition in the Art Gallery. After that we will go to a small independent Italian restaurant for lunch. The final part of our plan is to attend the matinee performance of a Comedy About a Bank Robbery, it is written by the same team that had success with A Play that Goes Wrong. If it all works it should be a good day.

I have been playing with dies from the John Next Door range again. Here is a birthday card I made last week.

I do like going back to use my older dies to try and make the most of my stash. I created the background by cutting the corner lattice die, from the Sandwich Box die collection  straight into the patterned paper. I feel this gives a very neat finish.

The flowers were cut from patterned paper with the Gerbera flowers did I just love that you can cut so many flowers in one pass. The leaves are the Gerbera leaves.

I used the small butterfly dies to make the butterflies.

The Happy Birthday was added with a Crafter's Companion die. I do love it when the dot above the i is attached.

Sent with Love and Flowers

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We have seen some wonderful sunshine  which has been nice. I have been having a quiet time  but I am still finding it hard to craft. One day was wiped out with a massive headache. On the plus side my parents seem to have settled down with their care package and they seem a lot happier. Another piece of good news it that we became Great Aunt and Uncle this week our niece gave birth to a beautiful baby daughter. We had lots of fun in Next picking out a gift to send. All the baby things are just so cute.

I decided to make another card with the flowers I made a few weeks ago.

I used a lot of dies from John Next Door. For the background I used some inky kitchen roll that had been stuck to card. Over this I put the Gerbera Corner die cut in white.

This this the sentiment that comes with the Small Butterfly die set I cut it with the inky paper and made a shadow of gold. I do this often with die cut sentiments it helps them to stand out from the background.

When you use the Gerbera die  you get so many flowers. I stuck two of each size together after shaping adding a pearl to the centre. I do love the small butterfly dies.

Enjoy the rest of the week. I am still trying to finish the ten Christmas cards for my husband's work colleagues.

Anything but a Card - A Box

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend and are ready for the week ahead. This is a scheduled post we are on our way to Malta. Life has been so fraught I am looking forward to some time away.

Being Monday the new challenge starts at Always Fun Challenges and the theme is Anything But a Card. So I made a box. I am no longer on the design team but I thought I would share this anyway.

Recently it was my mother-in-laws birthday and she likes chocolate. We have taken to buying bars of chocolate for her they just needed a box to show them off. I had a sheet of A3 patterned card and it was just right for this box.

To decorate the top I used all dies from John Next Door.

Here is the chocolate in the box.

One final look at the box. That is all from me until next time.

Sent with Love Gerberas and Butterflies

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? As some of you will know my dad has been taken ill and is in hospital. My mum needs a lot of help. The time I can spend blogging and creating is now very limited. I will do what I can to keep up with my commitments. I hope you will bear with me.

Beck to the card. A few weeks back I went to the Newbury Craft show. I knew John Lockwood would be there and I always take him some jelly babies and this time I decided to make him a card. I had just received some of his dies and I wanted to try them out.

This is not a big card. I cut the card blank and I was thrilled that the outer die from the Gerbera Corner Die set had a square die that cut a perfect mat that fitted the card blank perfectly. Then I cut two of the corners out of a paler card stock.

I found a spotty card in my stash an I used that  to cut the Gerbera flowers. For the butterflies I cut a dark base for them. I found some paper that I had made using the shaving foam technique  and I used that to cut the detail of the butterflies.

This sentiment comes with the small butterflies die set. I think it is going to be very useful.

I think he liked the card I know he liked the jelly babies.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Moving Along with the Times MAWTT - Black and White and one other colour

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope your week is going well. I am invigilating for the next two mornings with a very early start on Friday. This is also a busy blog time for me with lots of Design Team commitments coming at the same time.

The new challenge starts on the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge blog and for the next fortnight the theme is to use Black and White and one other colour.

I started by finding a black and white script backing paper. I cut the lattice with the Strip die from John Next Doors Sandwich Box die set.  The frame was made with the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expression.

I used the Stitched Flag dies from Creative Expression to make the flag. The sentiment was cut with a die that I won as a prize.

I used the Gerbera Flower dies and the Gerbera Leaves dies from John Next Door to make the flower spray.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Bright Cheerful Easter Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? Today we will be on our way back from a short break in Bath. Our anniversary was yesterday and we treated ourselves to a couple of nights away. Sometimes you just have to.

In the weeks leading up to Easter I made quite a few things. I am sharing a bright cheerful Easter card I made mostly with dies from John Next Door.

The background was made with the kitchen roll I used to clean up when I was using some Pixie Powders. You let it dry, then you split the sheets and then glue the sheets to some card. I also used the corner dies from the Sandwich box set to make the lattice.

I stamped the big Daisy stamp onto Neenah card with Memento ink then I die cut them with the Gerbera flowers die. This is just brilliant you get six different sized flowers in one go. I put some Pixie Powders on my craft mat with a little water and I used this to paint the flowers.

This is a Sue Wilson die. I have used it a lot this year it fits into really tiny spaces.

I hope you like this card I really enjoyed making it. I think I will be using these dies a lot.
