Father's Day card for Quick Cards Made Easy magazine

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? We are nearly at the weekend. Tomorrow we are setting off for our daughter's Hen Weekend. My husband has kindly agreed to drive us there and he will stay for one night and return  on Sunday to pick us up. It is so good that this will be a long weekend meaning we will get a day to recover.  I will be out of touch for a while as it is going to be busy.

A little while ago I responded to a request on Facebook from Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine to be one of the readers to use the bonus papers for issue 165 of the magazine. I was accepted and I was sent the papers by email to print at home. Ten people are chosen and three of the cards are printed in the magazine and all the cards appear on the Quick Cards  Facebook page.

I was quite thrilled when I saw these papers they are just brilliant for Father's Day.

I found some online tutorials for how to fold an origami shirt I added a ribbon tie.

This is one of the sentiments it looks like a chalk board.

This sentiment went well with the the gardening paper. Both of our dads like gardening.

I bought a copy of the magazine and I was thrilled to see that my card was one of the three chosen to be featured along with my little write up.

Of course I added all my mats and layers and I found some black buttons for the corners.

I am quite looking forward to the weekend. If I can get some appropriate photos I will post them on the wedding page at the top of this blog.

Christmas Cuties

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? It is always a tough week when we go back to school. It is so easy to slip into the stay at home lifestyle.

Last week I made a few Christmas cards. Surprisingly, this year where I am so busy I have managed to make more Christmas cards than I had at this point last year.

I was looking through my collection of old cards (people love giving them to me 😊) and I found two cards that had obviously come from the same set. The little images were so cute I had to use them.

The original card were just these images in the centre of a white card which made them super easy to cut out.

There is not a lot to say I used the Double Pierced Squares and Rectangles dies to make all the mats and layers. The papers were in my stash.

I would like to enter the April Rudolf Days Challenge

Enjoy the rest of the week.

New Home - Sue Wilson Window Box dies

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a good weekend. We had a great time yesterday getting more things sorted for the wedding. You can see my latest creations here.  I am back to work tomorrow. I wonder what delights await me.

I was asked for a New Home card last week and I didn't have one in my stash. So I set about making one. I bought these dies a while ago and I wanted to use them. I watched a tutorial on YouTube by Sue Wilson to see how to make the window box.

I have just a few more sheets of the brick textured paper in my stash. When it runs out I will have to go back to using a stencil to create the brick work.

I cut the sentiment with some Britannia word dies and the frame with my Sue Wilson Double Pierced Rectangle dies. I do use these dies a lot.

Here is the window box it folds flat for posting. Everything (apart from the cat) were cut in white card and coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.

I had a bit of a play with the new Glitter Kiss product. I used it behind the window. I think I need more practice

This tree comes in the Window Box die set.

I enjoyed making this card. I will definitely be using these dies again. I don't like having things in my stash that I don't use.  Have a great day.

Tattered Lace - Anniversary Shows - Antique Lace Collection

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How has your week been? I am very near the end of my two week holiday from school we have got a lot done. Including some work in the garden which we weren't expecting.

I have made some samples for the Anniversary shows for Tattered Lace with a rather pretty die set I was sent. It is the Ornamental Antique Lace Square die set. It is  very pretty. In fact when I checked last night this die set on its own had sold out. It is still available in collections.

You can see these cards and others made by the Design Team on the Tattered Lace Ornamental Vintage Lace Pintereset Page.

These are the things I sent in.  Apart from the dies I was sent two sheets of sentiments one in gold foil and one in silver.

This is one of my favourite die sets that I have been sent by Tattered Lace.

I was really taken with central dies from the set. I think they make quite a pretty pattern on their own.

I made a smaller blue version.

The twisted easel is the first card I made.

The box was easy to decorate. To decorate the sides I just cut the down down.

I was rather pleased with these samples. I have no idea if they will be shown or not especially as the die has already sold out. .

With Love

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you  had a great Easter break?  For us it has been good we have got so much done. A gardening project was completed, my husband  bought a suit, rings were polished, groom and groomsmen suits were ordered and  we sorted out  the table decorations. We saw family and friends it was a good break. I still have a few days before I go back to school which is nice.

I made another card with the image and paper from the April Issue of Making Cards Magazine. The papers and images are so pretty.

This is a 6" x 6" card.  I used a Spellbinders ornate square die to make the frame.

I used a Tattered Lace die to make the sentiment.

I coloured the just pot with my Stampin Up colouring pencils and the blender pen.

This is another card for my stash. I have a long list of jobs to start today I'd better get on.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Thinking of You - Woodware Tatty Daisies

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How was your Easter? Did you eat lots of chocolate? We gave up chocolate for Lent so it was nice to have a bit yesterday. We are now waiting for our daughter and her fiance to arrive. The meal is in the slow cooker and it will be ready when they arrive. I love my slow cooker. I think we are going to work on the table plan today that is going to be hard.

When I was at Ally Pally I treated myself to some new Woodware stamps. I was looking at some of the samples Julia Watts had and I just couldn't resist.

This is an unusual card for me being a DL card. It will go through the post really nicely. I created the background with a mix of Pixie Powders, Brushos and Distress ink around the edges.

This is the Tatty Daisies stamp by Woodware ( which is now under the banner of Creative Expressions). As it is such a long stamp I had to use it diagonally across my largest block. I stamped onto the background with Perfect Medium and I heat embossed with a black detail powder. Then I put some Pixie powders into a well on a tray and added water. Then with this mix I painted the daisies. Don't they look like they are smiling?

The sentiment came in the stamp set and was heat embossed in the same way as the daisies.

We have also done a bit of work in the garden and a cheeky robin helped us.

I do love robins, he kept swooping down to find worms and bugs that had been uncovered.

I was very pleased with how this card worked out. I want to do a bit more experimenting I have a few other ideas.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Take care.

Alphabet Challenge - Letter C - Cake

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? We are a bit closer to Easter with today being Good Friday. We are going to church later for a service.

The new challenge starts today on the Alphabet Challenge blog the letter is C and the theme is Cake.

This is an 8" x 8" card. I created the background by stamping a cupcake stamp with Perfect Medium and heat embossing with a white powder. Then I used Distress Ink to colour the background. I do like the resist technique.

The tea-pot, cups and cupcake dies came from my Crafter's Companion Advent calendar.

This is an actual recipe I got it from the internet. I copied it into Word and I edited the text to make it look the way I wanted. I printed onto white card in brown and I inked the edges with Distress ink. The Happy Birthday die came from the same Advent Calendar.

I hope you have a wonderful Easter.

Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge blog - Birds and Feathers

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a good week. We still have a few days left to wait until Easter. I wonder what you have planned? We are seeing our daughter and her fiance on Monday and the table plan beckons that is going to be difficult.

This is my first time hosting  a challenge for the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) challenge blog my theme is Birds and Feathers. I hope this gives people lots of scope. I chose the theme and then I bought the February issue of Making Cards Magazine.

The papers and the image came from the magazine.

Isn't the owl cute.

This is my favourite Happy Birthday die at the moment it is from Crafter's Companion.

I think this would make a wonderful card for a man.

I hope you join in with the challenge it lasts for two weeks.

Tattered Lace - Bunny Bathtime

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a good week. The weather has been amazing here. I hope it is where you are too.

A couple of weeks ago, out of the blue, I got an email from Tattered Lace asking me to make some samples. I was a bit surprised as I stepped down from the team some time ago. Anyway I was curious so I responded positively and I was sent a die to work with.

These are the samples I sent in. The die I was sent is called Bunny Bath-time and it is part of the Modern Romance collection.

I made an easel card the die was cut in white and coloured with my Promarkers. The background was created with the shaving foam technique it was made some time ago but it seemed to fit with this die.

I decorated a notebook. This would make a nice gift.

I wanted to make a card with just the mummy bunnies.

So I had all the bunnies in the bath left over. To make the card I generated the sentiment on the computer.

Gift bags are always nice to make. This time I paper pieced the die.

Here are all the samples together. The die was released yesterday. I haven't seen any of the shows so I don't know if they were used. I have just sent off another set of samples I really must stop there. Time is running out to make things for the wedding.
