April Rudolph Days Challenge - Winter Scene Christmas card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are things going for you? We are shopping for quite a few people. As long as we stay healthy this is fine. We are happy to help. I wonder how long all of this will continue. We keep hearing of more and more people who have been affected.

I love entering the Rudolph Days Challenge every month. When I am struggling to craft I often start a session by making a Christmas card. I am finding it hard to craft at the moment. I think it has a lot to do with my hubby being around all the time and my new love of doodling. I keep looking out for things I can draw.

This card was made almost completely from Snippets. All I had to make from scratch was the card blank. The background was made with some left over pattered paper and some left over glitter care.

The circles were left over from making a frame on another card. They were cut with the Double Pierced circle dies from Creative Expressions. I have lots of these deer already cut. The trees were cut with a Tattered Lace die. The moon came with a die set that came free with a magazine. The Happy Christmas was cut with a Crafter's Companion die. I have all my Snippets organised by colour so when I need to cut a sentiment or something else small I can easily find the colour I need.

This is another card for my stash.

Happy Birthday Card for Sam

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Well the weekend is nearly here. It doesn't make much difference at the moment does it? My hubby and I do try to have a plan for most days. We have found that the days go better when we have a plan. Our neighbour over the road has ten chickens and we have been enjoying the eggs which is brilliant. Our next door neighbour's daughter is a doctor and she has tested positive for the virus. It must be such a worrying time for them. We must all do our bit and stay home as much as we can.

There is a competition on the Crafting with John Next Door and Crafts-Too Facebook group to make a birthday card for Sam. His birthday is at the beginning of May. Now I had made him a card. In fact it is the only thing I have made this week. I have entered the challenge so I thought I would share the card on my blog too.

I started by making the background with the Tartan Stripe Stencil from the John Next Door range. I extended the range of the stencil easily.

This Happy Birthday die is one from Creative Expressions.

I used the large Champagne Bottle dies set from the John Next Door range to make the bottle and the stars. It was a bit tricky getting the angle of the bottle right with the corner of the card.

I have said before that I am Doodling along with Barbara Gray at 10:00 am very weekday. This one took four days to complete. I am very pleased with it.

I keep wanting to sketch things. I never thought I would be able to do draw like this.

I hope Sam likes this card. I will be posting it soon as the post seems to be taking a long time in some cases.

Beccy's Place - New Release - Live Large

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you getting on? I must admit that I am struggling to craft. I really must set  myself some goals. I am enjoying the weekday Doodling sessions that Barbara Gray is hosting every morning on Facebook. The videos are later loaded on to YouTube so no one has to miss out.

Today I am featured on the Beccy's Place blog.

Back at the beginning of the year Beccy Muir who own Beccy's Place sent me some new images to work with, I received the very cute Live Large set.  Here is what I made.

I do love an easel card. You do have to be careful who you send them to though.

This is the set of Live Large images they are available HERE Aren't they just so cute.

With digital images it is so easy to make groups with them. I created the background on the computer too. The bunting and butterflies are die-cuts. The Hippos were coloured with my Promarkers.

I used a stitched Flag die to make the stopper for the easel. It made a good place for the sentiment as well.

This was the second card I made. The images were coloured with Promakers. All the flowers were made with punches. I really don't use these enough.

This is just a small card. I used a new die set from Sizzix, The Hippo was coloured with Promarkers and he was nice and easy to cut out. The background was made with papers.

Here are all my makes together.

Stay safe and well.

100th Birthday Card for a very Special Gentleman

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are things for you? I have been so inspired by seeing Captain Tom Moore walking to raise money for the NHS. He has really hit a cord with the whole world. What a wonderful amount of money to pass on to the NHS. There was an appeal for birthday cards for Captain Moore's 100th Birthday on 30th April. I did feel that making a card would be one small thing for me to do to show my appreciation.

I knew I had some patriotic papers in my stash and it didn't take long to find them.

I think this is the first 100th Birthday card I have ever made. It really is something special. The number dies are X-cut dies. The Happy Birthday is a Creative Expressions die.

I used the Exquisite Poppy dies, from Creative Expressions, to make a poppy swag at the bottom of the card.

It was a pleasure to make this card for such a special man.

A Bit More Time to Craft - April 15th Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you all doing? What was Easter like for you? It looks like I will be spending my birthday (9th May)  in lockdown. Oh well there are worse things.

The new challenge starts at the A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge blog. The theme is always Anything Goes.

This is the last Easter card I will share with you. I didn't make many this year events overtook me.

I used the Day Star papers to make this card.

Our challenge are always fun and there are lovely digi papers to win. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

The sunburst die came free with a magazine. The tulip die is from Crafter's Companion and the flowerpot is a Spellbinders die.

This is a Creative Expressions die. I do like to mix up the dies I am using.
This is the drawing that our daughter made for our little family at Easter. It features me and my hubby, our Daughter and Son-in-law, his parents and the bunnies. It was so lovely to receive this digitally. I have printed a copy and it is in our lounge.

I did make two versions of this card using different colours of the Day Star papers.

Happy Easter

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

🐣Happy Easter🐣

I hope you have a lovely day. I know we can't be with the people that we love. We are safe at home and that is something to celebrate. Just think what it will be like when we can all meet up again.

This card has  the same design as the condolence card I made a few weeks ago. Changing the colours made a big difference.

This is the only Happy Easter die that I have it is from Creative Expressions. The Ivy was cut with the Ivy Spray dies from the John Next Door range. I love how you can place the ivy round an image.

The cross die is from a Spellbinders set of dies. For the background I used the Heart Lattice embossing folder.

I sent this card to our good friends. We are having video chats with them but it is not the same as being there with them. We have all got to do our bit.

I hope that you have a great Easter.

Stay safe and well.

Not Just Cards Challenge Blog - April Challenge - Anything Goes - New Home Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you getting on? We are fine. My hubby is now on leave. It has been strange today. We are still shopping for two older couples and I am checking up on an older lady who lives on her own. That is a well as trying to sort out the shopping for my parents. It is so hard to get those shopping slots.

The April challenge starts today at the Not Just Cards Challenge blog the theme is always Anything Goes. I made a card that I won't be needing for a while.

I do like to have New Home cards in my stash. In fact our Daughter and Son-in-Law are thinking of moving and were looking into this before the Corona Virus caught up with us all.  When I was shopping with a friend (remember when we used to be able to do that) and I spotted and had to have a huge roll of washi tape with houses on it. That is what I used to create the background for this card.

Why not join in with our fun easy challenge. If you click on the logo you will taken there.

I used the Heart of Hearts die set from Creative Expressions to make the big heart and its mat. The house die set came free with a magazine a while ago. The sentiment was cut with some Britannia dies.

Well I did enjoy making this card and making a start on the huge roll of washi tape.

On a personal note last year for my birthday I received a journalling bible. Well I hadn't touched the bible since I was given it. I did say that I have been following the doodling sessions run by Barbara Gray on Facebook. I have a lovely skill set of drawing skills that I can call on and  I used them to start my journal. I am going to start a page on my blog with my sketches. This really is something I never thought I would do.

Pretty Daffodil Easter Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you doing? I hope everything is well with you. Life is going on much the same for us as it has for the last few weeks. I am so grateful that we have a garden to enjoy, that my hubby has work and that I have a hobby. We are eating well. I have done so much cooking and I am really rather enjoying it. Also I am appreciating the technolgy that keeps us in touch with our loved ones. There are so many people out there doing so much to help us all.

I have been finding it difficult to craft. When I wrote my Easter cards I found that I was two short. So yesterday I settled down and made two Easter cards with the same design. It did help having something to focus on.

I used papers that were left over from our Daughter and Son-in-law's wedding which was three years ago in July. I did over buy everything I needed it would have been so bad to run out of anything

All the dies I used are from Creative Expressions. It was so nice to use the daffodil dies again. The oval dies come from the middle of another die set. I have found them to be so useful. I hunted through the Creative Expressions box of dies until I found a bow die.

I think this is the only die that I have that makes an Easter Greeting.

I made two cards with the same design. All the cards that are left can be hand delivered. The plan is to work their delivery into our daily walks.

I can't believe that it is Easter at the weekend.

Feel Better Soon Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you all doing? Are you managing to get everything you need? We are fine we even did a bit of shopping last week for  two older couples who aren't going out . The delivery slots are so difficult to get. We have told them to get in touch if they need anything else. On a positive note I have managed to get Attendance Allowance for both of my parents. My mum gets the higher rate and my dad the lower. The payments were backdated to when I phoned up and asked for the forms. Every little helps.

I don't know if you are like me but I am finding it very difficult to craft at the moment. If I do manage to make something I am usually not very pleased with it.

A little while ago I made this little feel better card.

I seached through my scrap box and found this background made with Distress Oxides that I had never used.

The banner was cut from a scrap of white glitter card. Both the banner and the sentiment are Crafter's Companion dies.

The splats/fireworks are the stamen from the Cornflower die from the John Next Door range. I have found that if you layer a 2½ wide strip across the middle of the die you get two small flowers and all the stamen. Because of this I had lots of stamen left over (I still have). I do like how they look on the card.

Is anyone else doing Barbara Gray's SHAC-Shack? It is at 10:00 every week day on Facebook. You sketch along with Barbara for an hour. I have done all of them and I can't believe what I have doodled so far. I have learnt so many tips and techniques already. The films are on YouTube as well.

This gorgeous image is called "Peace to You" and is available HERE. I printed onto Neenah cardstock and the image was coloured with my Promarkers. Then the image was fussy cut.

The banner die and the Happy Christmas came with my Crafter's Companion Advent calendar.

It was a pleasure to make this card the image is so pretty. This is another card for my stash. The pile of  Christmas cards is increasing.

Crafts Galore Encore - April Challenge - Anything Goes.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Here I am back with another post. This time it is for the new challenge at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog where the theme is Anything Goes. The sponsor is the fantastic Vera Lane Studio. The prize on offer this time is two sets of images of the winners choice.

Our daughter just loves cactus's so when I saw these images I just had to have them.

Sometime ago I used my Gelli Plate to make some backgrounds. This was the time to use one of them. I also used some Spellbinders dies to make the black die cuts.

There are so many fabulous images in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This set of images is called Succulents and it is available HERE. I was rather pleased with myself I managed to cut the sentiment so it fitted inside the die cut.

All of the Succulents were printed onto Neenah card stock and were coloured with Promarkers.

Once each one was coloured I cut them all out.

I did choose the Succulents that would be easier to cut out.

Then they were arranged around the sentiment.

Sometimes at a jaunty angel.

I did rather like the way this card turned out. I know our daughter is going to love it.

I had been  wondering on cutting down on my Design Team commitments but right now I am very glad that I didn't.
