Cards made with Pollyanna Pickering images

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? The start of my week was quiet. Today my husband has the day off so that his car can be looked at. We are going to take the opportunity to visit the tea-room where he will be having his birthday in August. There are a few choices to make. I will be helping at a Felting Workshop on Friday. On Sunday we are travelling up to Warwick so that we can attend my aunt's funeral on the Monday.

I decided to make to cards with one of my Pollyanna Pickering image pads.

I used the Deckled Rectangle dies from Spellbinders to cut out part of the image and a black mat for it. The papers came from a pad by Creative World of Crafts.

Here is a close up of the cut out section.

I did exactly the same with the owl image.

He is a gorgeous Barn Owl.

As yet I haven't added sentiments I will do this when I know who the cards are going to.

I hope the rest of the week is kind to you. Have a great weekend.

Up-Cycled Christmas cards

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend and the start of your week has been good too. I probably ought to start with a bit of an explanation. I have been a bit quiet on my blog lately. The death of my friend hit me quite hard and I have found it hard to focus, not helped by me getting a cold. I have a lot to get ready in the next couple of months my husband is 60 this year. I am still crafting but mostly it is things that I can't share just yet. Thank you to those who haven't given up on me. I am still around.

I am  trying to keep up with  my Christmas card makes. At the end of a craft session I try to fit in a couple.

This is one of my up-cycled Christmas cards. I liked the image on the old card. I trimmed it to fit so I could in some mats and layers.

I do like to see robins on Christmas card.

I used the Ivy Spray die from the John Next Door range. I added glitter for some extra sparkle.

This is a small sentiment die from the John Next Door range.

I had time to make another simple card from another card.

That's another two for my stash.

llama Love twisted easel Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? The sun is shining here today maybe it will be a better day.

This is the birthday card that I made for our daughter's birthday back at the end of May.

I do like a twisted easel card. All the papers I used were in my stash

This image is from the Llama Love set from Imagine That Digistamp. It is mostly a Christmas image set but this cute llama is included as well. I used a precoloured image that way I could use my own photo to create the  background. I did fussy cut a llama to lay over the top of the image to give some dimension.

This was a topper that I had in my stash. It made a great stopper for the easel.

Yesterday I heard some very sad news. My crafty friend Erika passed away the previous evening. She had a very short illness, it took her very quickly. I only met her a few times but we had lots of contact through social media. With her husband she lived on the same estate as our daughter and son-in-law. Erika made a big impact on the craft community she will be missed. RIP Erika ❤

Back to the card. I made a matching gift card holder. Now the sad thing about this card is that it was lost in the post and our daughter never received it. When I share this post it will be the first time that she will see it. I really ought to make a replacement card.

Bella Christmas Ornaments - Merry Christmas card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? I hope that you had a good one. On Saturday we visited Beaulieu Motor Museum with our daughter and son-in-law. We met our son-in-law's parents there as they were showing one of their cars in a VW event. Their car even won a prize which was fantastic,  On Sunday we had a quiet day at home. I did make  my husband one of his favourite meals.

On Friday I was colouring an image for one of the Design Teams I am on. As my pens were out I decided to look through my printed images to see if there was another one I could colour and I found this one.

I am trying to keep up with my Christmas makes. I did colour the image first and then I chose papers that would match the colours I had used. I used lots of die cuts. All the white you can see on the card was made with Snippets. There are snowflakes, a snowflake border, winter trees  and a sentiment. All the dies I used are from Creative Expressions.

This image is called Bella Christmas Ornaments and the is available HERE from Bugaboo Stamps. As she is a PNG image I made the background on the computer and I could layer the image on top of the background. I printed the resulting image onto Neenah card stock and I coloured with my Promarkers. I did add a touch of sparkle to the ornaments with a Wink of Stella clear pen.

This is a Creative Expressions sentiment. When there is room I like to use a bold sentiment.

That is another card for my stash. It is a bit larger than my usual cards so it will have to be for someone special.

Poppies

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been so far? I have finished invigilating for this set of exams. I should have a bit more time to craft now. Let's see how that works out.

Back in April I popped into one of our local charity shops. I picked up a pack of National Trust Notelets for 50p. The images on the notelets were very pretty. So I decided to make them into cards.

I liked the sketch that we used for a recent challenge at the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge blog. So I had another go with the aim  to make a birthday card for my mother-in-law who loves poppies.

The Poppy image is very pretty. I used the image from the front of the notelet. There was a small image on the back that I put on the inside of my card. I also had a piece of paper left over that I could use for a shopping list.

There were two types of card in the pack.
Here are the thank you cards that I made. I still have the image from the packaging to use.  I think that was 50p well spent.

Not Just Cards Challenge blog - June Challenge

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? It seems a long time ago now. We went to the garden show at Stansted House on Saturday. We had a lovely time and we bought a plant which I planed on Sunday. I have a couple of invigilating sessions to go and that will be it until November.

Being the 11th of the month the new challenge starts at the Not Just Cards Challenge blog and our theme is Anything Goes.

Someone on Facebook asked for cards for her daughter's 16th Birthday. The birthday was back in April so it is safe to share this card now. I started with an LOTV topper and I used the colours from the image on the rest of the card. The backing paper was in my stash.

Our challenge are always fun. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

I cut the mats and layers for the image with my Double Pierced Rectangle dies. The numbers were cut with Crafter's Companion dies. The sentiment was stamped and then cut out.

The balloons were cut with a tattered lace die that I have had for a while. I used the same colours as the mats and layers for the balloons.

I hope that card was well received. I do like using LOTV images they are always so cute.

Winter Wonderland Challenge blog - theme Use Red and Green

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Happy Friday. This morning I am helping at a Felting workshop and I am going straight from there to invigilating. So it will be a busy day of contrasts. I am not sure what we are doing at the weekend but it is nice to have nothing planned.

The new challenge starts at the Winter Wonderland Challenge blog and the theme this time is Use Red and Green ( you can use other colours too). The sponsor is Dr Digi's House of Stamps.

I found a tutorial online showing how to make a U-fold card. When I make this type of card I love that I can use my guillotine to cut all the mats and layer.  The sentiment was cut with a John Next Door die. The label was cut with a Creative Expressions die.

There are many wonderful images in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This image is called Selfie Santa and is available HERE.  The image was printed onto Neenah Card Stock and coloured with Promarkers. I just wish I had put the image a bit lower on the card.

I have plans to make another card to this design.

Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge - theme follow the Sketch

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? This is a heavy week of invigilating for me. Also tomorrow I will be helping at a Felting Workshop. It is rather difficult to craft and I have a big project on at the moment that is taking a lot of time.

Today the new challenge starts at the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) challenge blog and the theme is follow the Sketch.

I used black card to follow the lines of the sketch. The Double Stitched Flag dies were used to create the shapes under the image. All the patterned papers I used were in my stash.

Here is the sketch to follow.

This is a Pollyanna Pickering image that came from a pad of images. I do love the colours in this image.

I will be adding a sentiment later when I decide who to send the card to.

Leafy Swirl Aperture Clarity Fresh Cut Die - Two Birthday Cards

Hello my Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a great weekend and are ready for the week ahead. We had a busy weekend but thankfully no hospital visits. On Sunday we had a lovely day at Marwell Zoo, near Winchester, with our daughter and son-in-law. There have made many improvements since we were last there and we had fun finding the Lego dinosaurs that were scattered around the park.

I was very lucky and for my birthday I received the Leafy Swirl Aperture Fresh Cut die from Claritystamp. The friend who showed me how to use the waste from Fresh Cut dies gave me the die.

This is the die cut from the aperture die I used the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions to give it a border. I stuck it to a double sided sticky sheet, cut to size, and covered it with gilding flakes. Using gilding flakes this way is a lot easier than using glue.

This is the card using the waste. The trick is to remove the die cut and to keep the waste pieces in place in the die. Some did pop out and I replaced them Then with another sticky sheet I placed it over the die to pick up the pieces. Once this was done I used Gilding flakes again.

I do like how you can get the positive and the negative of the image. The Happy Birthday die I used on both is from Crafter's Companion.

Here they are together. I had no definite plans for them it is just good to have birthday cards available when I need them.

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge #64 Anything Goes.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are having a good weekend. Now I don't usually post on a Sunday but as it is the first of the month the new challenge starts at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog. The theme is Anything Goes and the sponsor is Vera Lane Studio.

I made the backing paper myself with ink on shiny paper. The lattice die is from Creative Expressions and the clouds and grass are Crafter's Companion dies.

If you like this style of images click on the logo and you will be taken to the store.

This rather cute kitty can be found in Farm Animals Set 2 which is available HERE. I printed the cat twice (flipping one) onto Neenah card stock and coloured them with Promarkers. Then they were fussy cut so that they could be added to the background.

The animal noises come with the set.

I know someone who has just taken in two rescue cats. I think she might like this card.
