Poppy Mother's Day Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you had a good weekend and are now ready for the week ahead.

I have made  my second Mother's Day Card this one will be for my Mother-in-law she loves poppies. Which means the rose card I made will be for my mum.

The background was made the the Penny Black Poppy Poem stamp it was stamped several times with black archival and then the colour was added with Distress ink.

I used a stamp from a magazine for the sentiment and the poppies were made with the Tranquil Poppy die designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

I think she will like this card she does love poppies so much.

I would like to enter challenge 7 at Create with TLC.

Butterflies Everywhere

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. What have you got planned? We are off to the Newbury Craft show followed by a trip to see our daughter and our future son-in-law. Tomorrow we will be working on the wedding invitations again. They are progressing but slowly.

I was very lucky and received the Butterfly Frame die set by Sue Wilson for Christmas from our daughter. She knows what her mum likes.

Okay this has got to be the most basic way to use this die set.

Here is the central detail.

This die was one of the dies from my Crafter's Companion Advent Calendar. I love how the dot over the die is attached.

While I was using this die set I was coming up with lots of different ideas for how to use it. You will probably see it quite a lot.

Mother's Day Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? It is just a normal working week for us. I did have lunch with a friend yesterday. After we popped into Hobbycraft and I picked up a couple of masks to decorate. We are going to a masked costume ball in March. The hunt for a costume is on it has to be pre 1900 any suggestions are very welcome.

I am still trying to do catch up on my crafty makes. I have made a Valentine's Day card and now I am on to Mother's Day cards.

I love lattices that is why I couldn't resist the Trellis Edger die set by Sue Wilson when it came out earlier this year. This is the first time I have used it. I did extend the die cut as the image is longer than the die. I think I will be experimenting with this die set a bit more. There wasn't really room for a sentiment on the outside so I popped one inside.

This stamp is the Classic Rose by Heartfelt creations. I stamped it with Watering Can archival ink and then I coloured it with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. I really must get some other water based pens I love how the colours move around and what happens when you add water.

I now just have to decide whether this card is for my Mother-in-law or my Mother. I might wait to see what the other card I make is like. Enjoy the rest of the week.

A Twisted Easel Card - for the Isobel Craft Collection

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How was your weekend? We visited our parents on Saturday and on Sunday we both worked on the wedding invitations. I was colouring images followed by a bit of die cutting. My husband was using the computer to work on the inserts. We are making progress but nothing is finished yet. I am hoping to get some things done this week.

I decided to get my stamps out from The Isobel Craft Collection to have a bit of a play. I ended up making a twisted easel card.

I used two 6" x 6" kraft card blanks to make this card. It would take 3 card blanks to make two of these cards.

This is the stamp set I used  it is the Garden set and there are still some available in the store.

This is the topper for the easel card it would make a lovely card in its own right. I used my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens to colour the images and Distress ink to colour the paper.

I used the Happy Birthday stamp from one of my other stamp sets from the Collection

I do love the ladybirds in this set. Sophy hosts online craft sales once a month she has products from lots of different companies at very good prices. The next sale is on the 5th February, it is all done through the Facebook page and you pay by Paypal. There are often competitions to win discounts. It is worth a look.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

New Home Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are enjoying the weekend. Yesterday we visited both our sets of parents. They are all fine. My brother-in-law and his wife  are trying to move closer to my husband's parents. This is very kind of them, they want to be on hand to help if it is needed.

So I made a card for when they eventually move, which we hope is soon. Moving is never easy.

I did make this card with a Design Team creation in mind. When I went to post it to the  Design Team blog I found I had got the theme wrong. No worries I needed this card anyway. The background brickwork is some textured card stock coloured with distress ink.

This is an LOTV image from a sheet of images that has been in my stash for a while. The New Home sentiment was cut with some Britannia dies.

This flower pot of flowers was made with a Spellbinders die set.

I do hope I get to send this card soon they have been trying to move for a while now.

Alphabet Challenge - the letter is W and the theme is Winter Walk

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. We are planning to visit our parents. Apologies in advance for my card.

The new challenge starts today on the Alphabet Challenge blog the letter is W and the theme is Winter Walk. So okay, I have made a Christmas card, sorry everyone.

I used some acetate to make the background and added punched snowflakes to cover the glue.

The sentiment was taken from an old Christmas card.

The robin is so cute he is a Tattered Lace die that came with one of the magazines.

I made the trees with the Winter Trees dies by Sue Wilson.

The challenge lasts for the next two weeks there is plenty of time to join in.

Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge blog theme Swirls and or Curls

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How has the week been for you so far? It has been very cold here, sunny but cold. I have been working on colouring the images for the wedding invitations. I have managed to fit in making a few other things as well.

The new challenge starts on the Moving Along with the Times Challenge Blog the theme this time is Swirls and or curls.

I have had these swirl stamps in my collection for a long time and this was the first time I used them. On a piece of white card I stamped the swirls with Perfect Medium and heat embossed them with a gold powder. Then I used Distress ink to colour the page and finally I spritzed it with water and patted it dry with paper towel.

I then created a topper with some of the butterfly dies Sue Wilson designed a while back.

I hope you will join in with the challenge it runs for two weeks.

A beautiful Owl by Pollyanna Pickering

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? We have got to hump day half way to the weekend.

Here is a little story: before Christmas I ordered a few bits from Create and Craft. Part of the order arrived well before Christmas but the second part didn't arrive. I had a look at the website and I kept meaning to do something about it but I didn't quite manage to get round to it. Well out of the blue on Monday the package was delivered. It did look like it had been around a bit but the contents were fine. I had ordered some toppers and inserts with images by Pollyanna Pickering from the Creative World of Crafts. So yesterday I had a bit of a play.

I must admit to being rather fond of the image of this owl. The first time I saw it was as a jigsaw. With the mats and layers I tried to reflect the colours in the image.

I used my favourite Happy Birthday die designed by Sue Wilson.

This is a beautiful image it was lovely to do as a puzzle. I changed my original design so I could keep Pollyanna's signature visible on the image.

I made some poppies with the Exquisite Poppy dies and Olive Branch die both designed by Sue Wilson. I do like poppies on cards.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Me to You Tatty Teddy Birthday Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How was your weekend? I hope it was a good one and has  set you up for the week ahead. On Saturday I made a start on the wedding invitations. Then on Sunday we had an unexpected visit from our daughter and her fiance which was nice. We had lunch together and we were able to discuss more bits and bobs to do with the wedding. There are a surprising amount of things to do and organise.

I did go to the local Craft shop sale it was brilliant and I picked up a few bargains. Then today I treated myself to a copy of Papercraft Essentials Magazine which came with a lovely embossing folder and some cute Panda Stamps. When I got home I had a bit of a play.

Here is the 6" x 6" card I made. I cut of piece of mauve core'dinations card stock to fit the folder and I used the folder from the magazine to emboss it. Then I used a sanding block to reveal some of the core of the card.

I stamped Tatty Teddy on to water colour card with watering can archival ink. Then he was coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. I cut him and the silver mat with some Sue Wilson dies.

The Happy and Birthday stamps came with the magazine.

Here are my purchases the most anything cost was £2. I do have the matching dies for the number stamps.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Isobel Craft Collection - Hearts

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How was your week? Do you have something nice planned for the weekend. I am actually going to start making the invitations for our daughter's wedding! We have a few trips out planned as well. Our local craft shop is having a big sale and I would like to visit.

I thought it was about time that I made another card for the Isobel Craft Collection. Christmas and the wedding prep have rather got in the way.

I do love the bees that come in this set. I wanted to make something a bit different. How many times have you heard that?

Unfortunately this set is no longer available from the store. There are lots of other lovely designs and there are more coming soon.

I stamped the hearts with black archival  ink and coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.

This Happy Birthday stamp is so useful it is a good size.

Sophy also hosts online craft sales the next one in on 5th February 2017. There are always lots of bargains and she stocks lots of well know craft brands as well as her own stamp collection. There is never any pressure to buy so it is worth having a look.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Happy Crafting.

Valentine Hearts

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? We actually managed to sneak off to the cinema on Tuesday evening to see Passengers there was a 2 for 1 offer at our local Odeon. My husband got home early and we dashed off to catch an earlier performance,  it was very enjoyable.

While there is a slight lull in wedding makes (I have supplies on order for the invites) I thought I ought to start thinking ahead to cards I might need in the not too distant future. Well February and Valentine's Day are not far away so I decided to make a card for my husband. We usually give each other cards and have a nice meal usually the M & S meal deal.

I started by making all the mats and layers.

Then I started playing with my dies. I used the Heart of Hearts die set and the Heart Love die set both designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions. I remembered that I had bought some Distress Glitter in a sale. I know it is pink but I decided to use it anyway. I was just going to use it on the love die but I liked it so much I used it to edged the Heart of Hearts dies. I didn't use the heart detail this time I embossed the hearts instead.

The sentiment was cut with a Britannia die. The text layer was a late addition to the design but I think it shows off the hearts nicely.

So this card is now hidden in a drawer. I can blog and share it on Facebook as he never looks at those.

Enjoy the rest of the week. Take care,

Hello!

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? My husband is not well but he insists on doing things and then gets very tired. I do hope he gets better soon.

I have recently found out about the location of a cousin who I had lost touch with. All I have is an address so I decided to make a card to break the ice so to speak.

I wanted to keep things quite simple. All the papers and card I used came from my stash.

I have had this stamp for such a long time, it was originally free with a Docrafts magazine,   it was good to get a chance to use it.  I stamped it with Perfect Medium and heat embossed it with a gold powder ( I know it doesn't look gold in the photos).

Now the card is made I just have to write the letter.

Celebrate

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. We popped up to see our daughter and her fiance about wedding invitations yesterday and today they are off to their venue for a food tasting. So wedding plans are moving along.

Today something exciting is happening the present leader and his wife is handing over to a new leader and his wife. We have got to know the new leaders quite well and I made them a card to celebrate this change. It will be a big difference  for church but a good one. The service for the handover will take place this morning.

I based this card on one I made for an ordination a while ago. I used Distress Ink on embossing to highlight the detail. I used the ivy die cuts to break up some of the lines.

I made with with a die that I won at the Pixie's Snippets Playground a few weeks ago. The die is from IO (Impression Obsession) it is called Birthday Top Edgers there are two other dies in the set.

I cut the Spellbinders cross die in gold and offset it with a brown one to give a shadow.

We popped the card through their door yesterday I hope they like it. I it was actually harder writing the message than making the card I needed my husband did help me. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, We are planning a quiet day after church my husband has a bit of a cold.
