How is your week going? I so glad that the snow has gone and that it is a little warmer.
I am in a few groups on Facebook and I saw some cards made with a technique using Distress Oxides. My first thought was I won't be able to do that. Anyway I visited the blog in question and there was a link to a video tutorial. So I had a look and I thought yes that is achievable. So I had a go with what I had in my stash.
I cut some Neenah card stock to the size I required. Then with my stamp press I stamped the daffodils with Perfect Medium and heat embossed them with a white powder. With three shades of Distress Oxides I inked the paper with some cut and dry foam starting with the darker colour and working in to the lighter colour.
I buffed the ink off of the white embossing. Then I took a paintbrush and some water and I lifted the colour from the daffodil as I went I dabbed with kitchen towel. I put some yellow Distress Oxide on my mat and added water I used this to paint over the daffodils.
The Happy Easter is a Clarity Stamp and it was heat embossed with a gold powder.
Here is the video that I saw on my friends blog. I found it very useful. I didn't realise how easy it is to put videos on your blog post.
Here are all the cards together. I think I have enough Easter cards now. This was a a fun technique it was good to get the inks and stamps out again. These cards are nice and flat for posting.
