Pretty Card featuring Snowdrops

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I am meeting a friend for a coffee this afternoon. I haven't done that for a long time. On Friday we will be visiting my parents who have a live in carer. We have to wear masks and socially distance. I am not sure that my parents will recognise us especially when we are wearing masks. It is best to be careful though.

I have been up-cycling old cards again. I just can't resist some of the images on the cards. I have quite a few people who give me their cards.

I have some gorgeous card from Anna Marie Designs and I made the card blank and the mats and layers with it. The patterned paper was in my stash.

This was such a pretty image I just had to use it to make a card.

This is a Crafter's Companion die.

I don't always put sentiments on my cards that way they are more adaptable.

Snowflake Frame and Winter Westie Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope that you had a good weekend. On Saturday we went shopping, wearing our masks of course. I needed to stock up on a few bits and pieces. It was very strange to be shopping again. We met friends for a picnic on Sunday which was nice. This week we are going to try and meet up with my husband's brothers and wives. The eldest brother made it back from Spain two weeks ago but he has to be in quarantine for 14 days.

I spotted some dies that I liked in the latest Festive release from Creative Expressions. I decided to treat myself.

I bought the Snowflake Adjustable Frame die set. I love the effect it gives. I layered the frame over some dark blue card.

In the centre of the frame you get a nice square for an image. This is the little doggy family I made withe the Fred She Said pre-coloured Winter Westie images. They are available HERE.

Here you can see the detail of the frame. You get three sizes and this means you can make rectangles as well as squares.

Well this is another card for my Christmas card stash. I need to do a bit of sorting out with my cards.

Have a good week.

Tatty Daisy Card - Just Because

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? Yesterday I had my hair cut. I had forgotten how much I enjoy the experience. Also I have known my hairdresser for 23 years and she like a good friend. She used to cut our daughter's hair and always asks about how she is getting on. This morning we dropped off a Covid test each. We are taking part in a trial. In a few days we should get the result.

I have been making a few cards. My friend is opening her house for the Open Studios event and she has asked me if I would like to have a table of cards. Of course I said yes. This will take place August Bank Holiday Weekend. That really isn't far away.

Sometime ago I treated myself to the Tatty Daisy die from the John Next Door range. I had a design in my head that I wanted to try. As you know I have been making simple cards recently this is another one. All the card I used was from my stash. I do like this pink card, it has nearly all gone, but I don't know where it came from.

I cut the daisies from scraps of white paper that has a sheen to it. The centres were coloured with Distress ink and candi was added as well. I cut and added the Rose Leaves also from the John Next Door range.

This sentiment is from Creative Expressions. It is quite useful as it makes the card more flexible to use.

I was quite pleased with how this card turned out. There are some other things I want to try now.
I just looked up the meaning of Daisy and it meas Day's Eye and it came from Old English. If we get another cow we might call it Daisy. 🐄

Under the Sea themed Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We have a few things going on. One of which for me is having a haircut. My hair is straight and has just got longer. I have been cutting my own fringe. I think I have managed quite well during this time. It will be nice to have my hair all tidied up by the hairdresser. I might just keep it a bit longer though as I quite like it.

Back in May I made this under the sea themed card.

I used a background that I made a while ago with Brushos and Pixie Powders. No one talks about them much now. I will still be using them as I have lots. The die set I used is the Under the Sea Die set  by Memory Box and it came free with a magazine.

I used up so many scraps of card making this card. Everything that was die cut came from the scrap pile.

Autumn themed Decorated Tag

Hello My Crafty Blog Fiends and Visitors

How has your week been? This week I have seen quite a few friends for drinks in the garden. We also had a shock over one of the bills for my parents from the Care Company. We are in the process of sorting that out. This weekend our daughter and son-in-law are coming to visit their rabbits and to bring them supplies. It will be nice to see them. They will be able to tell us about where they have got to with their house move.

I was looking back through my files and I found pictures of a tag I made for a competition but I never got round to blogging it.

I have some large black tags that are rather fun to decorate. The background was made on my Geli Plate.

I used the John Next Door Additions dies: Acorns and Leaves and Autumn leaves. I used craft card and green card some gilding wax and some distress ink to add interest to the leaves.

This sentiment comes from the Additions dies from John Nest door. I also used the leafy flourish die set.

Isn't that ribbon fabulous. I did win a prize with this tag.

Have a great weekend.

Challenge #120 at the A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge Blog - the theme is Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I am going for coffee in the garden with friends later this morning. These sort of things seem to be happening more and more. I hope they can continue and that we all stay safe.

It is time for challenge #120 to start at the A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge blog.  The theme is always Anything Goes and there are gorgeous digi papers to be won.

When I made my uncles birthday card there were papers left over and they were just too gorgeous not to use.

For this card I used the Mix Digital Paper Set.

Our challenges are always fun and worth entering to get your hands on the gorgeous papers. Click on the logo above and you will be taken there.

This is another of my Pollyanna Pickering images from my paper kit. I do love kingfishers though I have never seen one in the wild.

It is worth having little cards like this around so you can just send someone something to let you know that you are thinking of them.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Take care and stay safe.

Cute Angel Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope that you had a good weekend. We had a quiet one which meant that we were able to get a lot of jobs done in the house and garden. There is still so much that I want to do with both.

All through this time I have been making Christmas cards. For some reason I have found them easier to make that other styles of cards. So far I have made 78. I do still need some more.

Here is my latest card made with a cute little image from Sherry West.

I have been using some A3 black card to make card blanks. When I do this there is a folded piece of black card left over. Sometimes, like here, I use these to make tent fold cards.

This cute little image is called Merry Christmouse it is available from Sherry West HERE.  The image was printed on to Neenah card stock and it was coloured with my Prismacolor pencils. With the pencils I can get quite a delicate effect and I can colour much smaller images. I have found so many images that I have printed and that I can practice my colouring on.

So here is another card for my Christmas stash. I think there is one more of these images for me to colour.

Not Just Cards Challenge Blog - July Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are all well and doing okay. We had a lovely day out yesterday. We went to Furzey Gardens on the edge of the the New Forest in Hampshire. We met our friends there and we shared a lovely picnic together as well as getting coffee  in the cafe. It was so lovely to be out and to see some gorgeous plants. I was even able to buy a couple of plants for our garden. This year our garden has become very important to us like it has to many people.

Back to business the July challenge has started at the Not Just Cards Challenge Blog. The theme is the ever popular Anything Goes.

I have a friend who loves Star Trek (so do I). For her birthday I asked my daughter to draw my friend and her husband as characters from the Next Generation series of Star Trek. My daughter obliged. She has been drawing us as Star Trek characters for years. The moon in the background is my own photograph.  The stars I added were made with a die from the Champagne Bottle die set from the John Next Door range.
Our challenges are always fun. Click on the logo and you will be taken to the blog.

When my friend saw the image she was just so thrilled. I have asked my daughter to draw me some Doctor Who themed images. I know people like seeing themselves as their favourite characters.

There is a little story with the matching gift bag. My friend, saw a gift bag I made on Facebook and challenged me to make a Star Trek themed one. That's how it all started.

Have a great weekend.

Cute Get Well Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? Tomorrow we are supposed to be hosting coffee and cake in the garden but it looks like the weather might not be co-operating. On Friday we are going to Furzey gardens, which is near us, with friends. We have pre-booked tickets and we are taking a packed lunch. It should be a good day out. We have another quiet weekend ahead.

I have been making simpler and simpler cards. Here is one of them.

I had the card blank and the papers all cut to size for another project that didn't work out. The paper was just so pretty I had to use it.

This image came from an old get well card. It is just so cute.

The banner and the sentiment are Crafter's Companion dies.

Well someone said they wanted to see some of my simple cards. There really are quite a few of them.

I still like making cards but with all the drawing I do now there isn't so much time.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Harebell Flower Fairy Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you doing? Has much changed for you? We have been to visit friends in their house.  One evening this week we are having some friends round to have a drink in the garden. These are people we have been having Zoom meetings with. It is so nice to be able to meet in person.

I haven't completely tidied my craft stash but I have done odd bits of sorting. When I was going through one of my boxes I found a Flower Fairy paper kit. Well I just had to use it.

I used the Harebell Flower fairy image and matching paper from the kit. A couple of years ago we went to an exhibition of the original Flower Fairy paintings by Cicely Mary Barker at Mottisfont National Trust. I have always liked these painting. It was so lovely to see them for real.

I added this Spellbinder die to the design. The cobwebby ribbon was in my stash.

I made this card with my mother-in-law in mind she shares my love of the flower fairies. In the end I made her a card with my own drawing of some poppies she loves poppies too.

Have a good week.

Winter Wonderland Challenge blog - Sponsor Fred She Said and the theme is Hip to be Square

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? Ours has been a bit up and down with all the things going on at my hubby's work.  Here we are at the weekend and they still don't feel much different. We have no plans so hopefully some gardening will get done. The grass is getting quite long.

Today is the first day of the new challenge at the Winter Wonderland Challenge blog. The theme is Hip to be Square and the sponsor is Fred She Said. I love making square cards so this challenge is right up my street.

I made one on my Snippets backgrounds. I do love using up those strips of patterned paper. I added the Winter Trees from Creative Expressions to the design to frame the sentiment.

There are many wonderful images in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

I used the pre-colured Winter Westie Images and made a little family group. The Winter Westie image set is available HERE.

I do like these cute little doggies. I do seem to be on a bit of a roll with Christmas cards at the moment.

The winner for the Winter Wonderland Challenge blog will be posted on Monday next week.

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog - Challenge 77 - Anything Goes - Sponsor Fred She Said

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Being the start of the month I am back with my second Design Team post of the day. Challenge 77 has just started at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog. The theme is the ever popular Anything Goes and the sponsor is the fabulous Fred She Said Designs

I found the snowy paper in my stash.

There are many wonderful images sets in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

I used the image set called Christmas Corgi which is available HERE.   I created a background on my computer. As the line images are PNGs I was able to place them over the background. I coloured the doggies with my Prismacolor pencils. The snowflakes were added with a gel pen.

This sentiment and the Winter trees are dies from Creative Expressions.

Aren't those Corgis just so cute. This is another Christmas card for my stash.

The A Bit More Time to Craft - Extra Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello my Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I can't believe it is July already. This has been such a strange year. So much has happened and has changed. I wonder what else is coming our way.

It is time for the new challenge at the A Bit More Time to Craft - Extra Challenge. The theme is always Anything goes and the July Challenge runs until the 28th of the month.

Okay it has to be said that I have a weakness for gingham papers. I just couldn't resist these digi papers when I first saw them.

Our challenges are always fun and you get the chance to win some wonderful Digi papers. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

I have a Pollyanna Pickering paper kit and this lovely Thrush is one of the images from the kit. I cut the image and it's mats with the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions.

This is one of the John Next Door sentiments.

I sent this card to my uncle who is in a home in Devon. He has been there since just after Christmas and obviously the home isn't allowing visitors.
