A Cute Bee Happy Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend. In spite of the rain we managed to get a lot of gardening done on Saturday. Then on Sunday we had friends round for lunch in the garden it was rather windy though. All in all it was a good weekend. I wonder what will happen this week.

As I have said recently when I am using digi images I often print more than one. I found this image and I had a go at colouring it with my Prismacolor Pencils.

The background was made with some inky kitchen roll stuck to some card. I used Snippets of black card to make the hexagons the sentiment and the bees.

This image is called Spring Bumble Bee and it is available HERE from Star Stampz.   The image was printed onto a blue background and coloured with Prismacolor pencils. I do love practising with them. I added a stalk to the flower with a Micron Pen.

I might send this to someone who needs cheering up.

I Just Love Robins on Christmas Cards

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? Lockdown is certainly changing. We will have to  wait and see what the effect will be. Yesterday my hubby took a days leave and we went to Hinton Ampner a National Trust property quite near to where we live. We had to pre-book and we had a timed slot. It is just so nice to be able to walk round somewhere a bit different.

As for me. I seem to be getting busier. It is difficult to find the time to make cards and blogging is going on the back burner a bit. Maybe when we aren't looking after the bunnies I will have a bit more time for both.

When I print digi images I usually print at least two copies in case I go wrong when I am colouring. Recently I rounded up the spare images so that I could practice colouring with my pencils.

The patterned paper and the ribbon were in my stash.

This is  image no 118 Winter Robin and it is available HERE from Sheepski Designs.  The image was coloured with my Prismacolor pencils. The sentiment was cut with a Crafter's Companion die.

Here is another card for my Christmas stash. I will be colouring some more images with my pencils.

Father's Day card for my lovely Hubby

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend. We saw a lot of family all outside, at a safe distance and at . Now things are back to our weekly normality. Hubby working at home and me doodling. I am going for a coffee in the garden with friends later on.

Since I have been doodling and colouring with Barbara Gray I have joined the monthly Clarity Die club. I used the die I received last month to make this card. I also used some of the Clarity Design papers.

This is a Signature die. I think I use it every Father's Day. I am still making three cards each time.

This is quite a dramatic card. I know my hubby liked it. I was really hoping to draw something for him but I ended up not having any time. I do think this die has lots of potential. I will have to have another play sometime.

I hope that you have a good week.

Pretty Floral Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? We seem to be getting busier as each week goes by. This weekend coming will be a busy one. Most of the plans involve being outside so I hope that the weather holds.

I have been struggling to craft and to be honest it is not getting any easier. Most of the things I make seem to be very simple and I am not sure that people want to see those. Anyway here is a simple card that I made from an old card.

I created a purple card blank. Then I cut the old card to fit the card blank.

I cut the Renmore die set and backed it with a purple mat. I added two butterflies cut with the Small Butterflies dies. Both are from the John Next Door range. The sentiment was cut with a Crafter's Companion die.

This is a pretty little card to send to someone.

Have a good weekend.

The A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge Blog - Challenge 118 - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend. On Saturday we had friends round for coffee in the garden that then turned into lunch. It was so good to have a long catch up. Then on Sunday we had a longer walk than usual. We got as far as our local farm museum. You can't go into the farm yet but there are places where you can see in. Well they have been working really hard during lock down and the farm looks amazing it has all been spruced up. We are going to have to have a visit when it opens.

Today the new challenge has started at the A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge blog. The theme is Anything Goes and there are fabulous digi papers on offer as prizes.

This is the birthday card that I made for my uncle. He lives in Suffolk with my cousin and her family. Last year we went up for his 85th birthday party. This year we had to make do with a phone call. The papers I used for my card are from the Mix Digi Paper Collection.

Our challenges are always fun and the papers really are worth winning, Click on the logo and you will be taken to the challenge blog.

I have a CD with images by Pollyanna Pickering. I chose this Kingfisher image to use for my uncle.

I know my uncle liked this card he told me so on the phone.

Not Just Cards Challenge Blog - June Challenge - Anything Goes - Father's Day Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? Yesterday we treated ourselves to a trip to Exbury Gardens in the New Forest. We haven't had a day out in so long. It did feel very weird driving further than we have for months. We had to pre-book our visit. Only 70 people are allowed in each hour. The Gardens are doing everything they can to keep people safe.

June is the month in which Father's Day falls. I do like to make something a bit special for my father-in-law he loves my cards and he always lets me know how much he likes them.

My father-in-law likes nautical themed cards. Wendy who is the Spanish Crafter (her blog is HERE) sent us a new year card with this design a while ago. I have been meaning to make one of these cards for a while. I have just found out that this style of card is called a Pull Up Accordion Card. I used my scoreboard to help me make the card.
Our challenges are always fun why not join us. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

I used an old card for the base and I added a greeting  cut with a Signature die.

I decorated all the parts before I assembled the card. It was so good having a made up card so that I could see what to do. It was also a great opportunity to use up lots of Snippets.

I have many nautical themed dies that I could use to decorate the sides. All the papers came from a pad that I bought in The Works it has proved to be very useful. At the time I had the foresight to buy two.

This shows the top of the card. I used one of the Cog dies from the John Next Door range to hold the ribbon in place.

Here is the base of the card where a message can be written,

I am not quite sure how my in-laws will get on with displaying this card. I know they will like it a lot though. They are always so encouraging.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Clyde the Dragon - Get Well Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend. On Saturday we met our friends for a lovely walk by the river in Hamble. In the evening we watched a live stream of a John Lennon tribute Act. Then on Sunday we went up to Andover so we could see the house our daughter and son-in-law are in the process of buying. We still had lots of time at home to get on with jobs.

I have been following the Facebook lives that Barbara Gray does very weekday at 10.00 am. Now one week we doodle and one week we colour with pencils. Until then I had never really got on with colouring with pencils. I did treat myself to a set of Prismacolor pencils a while back. Well now I can use them. I am rather pleased.

So I could practice I went through and found all the images I had printed and not coloured. For this card I used a lot of dies. From Creative Expressions I used the Double Pierced Squares and Rectangles and the  Stitched Flag dies. The patterned papers were in my stash.

This cute little dragon is called Clyde Get Well and he comes from Bugaboo. He was coloured with my Prismacolor pencils.

I have made a lot of get well cards lately. I do love this little dragon he is lovely to colour with pens or pencils.

Winter Wonderland Challenge Blog - June Challenge - Christmas Decorations and a Design Team Call

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? There is a lot going on in the world out there. We haven't really changed what we are doing. Though this weekend we are going to see the house that our daughter and son-in-law are in the process of buying. We will be outside at all times and at a safe distance of course. It will be nice to see the house. Everything is progressing well with their move.

The new challenge starts today at the the Winter Wonderland Challenge Blog and the theme is Christmas Decorations. The sponsor of the challenge is the fantastic Beccy Muir from Beccy's Place.  We are also having a Design Team call details are on the blog.

I have a close association with Beccy being one of her blog contributors. This meant that I had a few images that I could use on my card. The trouble was they were all so lovely it was hard to choose.

I found a gift bag which had a fantastic pattern on it. I cut it up and used this for the mat behind the image. I added a tartan and gold ribbon as well.

There are so many wonderful images and word sets in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This is the Golden Bell Digital image set and it is available HERE.  I used the precoloured image and a sentiment that came with the set. I placed them onto a background I had made on the computer. I cut the image and it's mats with the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions.

I have made 60 Christmas cards now. That is not bad when we are nearly half way through the year. I wonder how things will be when we get to Christmas.

I hope you have a good weekend.

Barn Owl Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are things going for you? Have you ventured out anywhere different or further away? Have you had people round to socialise in your garden? We haven't changed what we are doing much. We are still shopping for a few people. Next Wednesday we have booked to go to Exbury Gardens.  You have to book ahead for a specific time. Only a few people are allowed in each hour. My husband is taking a days leave so we can do this. I am still a bit nervous about it.

I was looking through my files and I found the birthday card that I made for my cousin. I tried to make him one before this one  and it turned out rather feminine. I sent that one was sent to one of my other cousins.

I do love images by the late Pollyanna Pickering. I chose the image from one of my pads. Then I chose papers to match the image. I found an Ivy Border die from Creative Expressions I cut the die twice using a pale green card. I darkened the die with Distress Ink.

This is a gorgeous image of a Barn Owl by Pollyanna Pickering. He looks so cute peeking round the corner.

It is raining today. The garden does so need the rain. We still had our walk this morning that is what waterproof coats are for.  I will be colouring with Barbara Gray a bit later.

Here is my Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog card. Challenge 76 has started the theme is Anything Goes. Our fabulous sponsor is Polkadoodles and there is a prize. So it is worth entering.

The first thing I did was to colour the image. Then I found some packing with a pattern I liked that suited the image. I added two ribbons to the design. I liked the way they looked together.

There are so many wonderful images in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

I used the Earlie Hedgehog Dandelion - Fuzzypuffs digi stamp which is available HERE. I created a background on the computer I added the image on top. I printed onto Neenah card stock and I coloured the image with Promarkers. The image and it's mats were cut with the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions.  I have made a few Feel Better cards lately.  The Banner die and the sentiment are Crafter's Companion dies.
