Some of my favourite makes from 2021

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope that you all had a good Christmas. We did get to stay with our Daughter and Son-in-law. We had a lovely meal together and plenty of walks with the dog. I am sharing our special family news: in June we will become Grandparents. I still can't quite believe it. As a family we feel very blessed. There is still a long way to go but the signs are looking good.

My back has continued to be a problem. I have taken to use the laptop standing up in the kitchen,

I thought I would share some of my favourite makes from the year.  Some of these bring back special memories.

I have made a few Box cards this year. This is the one I made for our daughter's 30th birthday. I drew the paper myself. This reminds me of not only our lovely daughter but also of my love of doodling.

This is another favourite design of card. It is a Diamond Point card and there are lots of instructions on YouTube for how to make them. On my blog this has been the most looked at card of the year.

Here is the Christmas card I gave to my in-laws this year. They are both in their 90s and just recently they have started to need care. It is always nice to give them something special. The card was made entirely with John Next Door dies.

This twisted easel card was my Father-in-Laws birthday card. He still gets out in his garden every day.

I have been on the Beccy's Place design team for a long time. I do like using her images. The background was made with Snippets which I like doing a lot. There always seem to be more Snippets.

Here is a special birthday card I made again all with John Next Door dies. I am very thrilled to be one of his Angels.

I also love reusing old cards. This image worked so well with the paper.

Here is the Christmas card I made for our Daughter and Son-in-law. Our daughter has always loved penguins. These are Two Jays penguins. I had fun colouring them and cutting them our.

This is one of the cards that I made for the John Next Door Christmas box kit. I wrote two articles for the magazine, It is so lovely to get opportunities like this.

Here is one of my favourite cards I made for Beccy's Place. I do love sunflowers.

Lastly this is the Christmas card I made for our very good friends (the ones we go on Beatles trips with). Our Daughter drew them for us. I also drew the wreath. I know they were thrilled with this card. I am hoping to do more with our Daughter's images in the future.

I won't be making so many cards going forward. I have decided to stay on the Beccy's Place Design team and on John's Team of Angels. I will only be making special cards for people in between. I expect I will be blogging a lot less. This was the first year for ages we sent bought Christmas Cards.

Happy New Year to you all. I do hope that 2022 is kinder to all of us.

A Special Card for our Special Friends

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are all your plans coming together? We are still on track to stay with our Daughter and Son-in-law. Unfortunately I have hurt my back so some of the things we were going to do have put on hold. It could be a lot worse so I am not complaining too much.

Here is the card I made for our special friends.

The paper I used has been in my stash for a while. The corners were cut with the Snowflake Corner dies from the John Next Door range. I have love using those corner dies they have appeared on a lot of my Christmas cards this year.

The drawing of our friends was drawn by our Daughter. I drew the wreath. The two images work very well together.

Our friends received this card yesterday. We had lunch together at our local garden centre. Needless to say they were thrilled.

I will take this opportunity to wish you all a very

Merry Christmas
and a
Happy New Year.

Thank you for all your support this year. I will be back next year.

Penguin Card Pop-Up Stepper Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? We are just so busy at the moment I bet lots of you are too. I  haven't made much this month. I am hoping things will calm down a bit soon.

Here is the card I made for our Daughter and Son-in-law. Our daughter has always loved penguins.

The paper has been in my stash for a while.

I love the Pop-Up Stepper Card die set from the John Next Door range. The Stencil Sentiment dies are brilliant too. You can make up all sorts of phrases.

This is the centre section. The penguins are the Small Penguins from the Two Jays stamp range. They were coloured with my Faber Castell Polychromo pencils. The trees were made with the Finley's Trees die set from the John Next Door range.

I put a panel on the back of the card for a greeting.

They did like their card a lot. Have a good Christmas. I hope we all have a Happy New Year.

A Special Christmas Easel Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you all doing? We have been busy. Last week we had a few days in Liverpool with our friends. We attended a Bootleg Beatles concert that had been postponed from last year. The other brilliant thing we did was to do a taxi Beatle Tour with Mad Day Out Beatles Taxi Tours. We ended up at Strawberry Fields which now has a Visitors Centre where you can get a cup of tea.

Here is the card that I made for John and Sam. I used an image our daughter had drawn. I have asked her to draw a few of our friends usually in costumes of characters that they like. We have quite a few drawings of us in Star Trek uniforms.  John and Sam have received this card so it is okay to share it.

I used papers and dies that came with the Christmas Box kit. I do like making wreaths.

The characters are Dr Who David Tennant style and Captain Jack. Our daughter colours the images for me.

They were both very pleased with their card. I have a few more special cards to share. All the rest of the cards are going in the post today.

Christmas Cheers with Beccy's Place

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We celebrated our Son-in-law's birthday on Saturday. He is a very good cook. Then on Sunday we went to a quiz with our friends. We didn't do very well we are rather out of practice.

I am not crafting very much at the moment. I have been helping at Felting Workshops ( I am making myself a set of Christmas Pudding decorations for our tree). What free time I have seems to be spent on the phone sorting out things for my parents. As time goes on things are getting harder. I am sure some of you know what we are going through. I will not be blogging as much as usual. I am sure no one will mind.

Here is a card that I made with one of the images from the Christmas Cheers Digital Image set from Beccy's Place.

When I make cards for Beccy I always print more images than I need. I have found colouring very relaxing so these extra images have been very useful. All the papers were in my stash.

The image was coloured with my Faber Castell Polychromo pencils.

This card will be winging it's way to a new recipient very soon.

Blue Floral Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going?  Here we are at the beginning of December. We are still very busy and I am not finding much time to craft. All the Christmas cards I have made lately are for special people and I don't want to share them until they have been received. You know what it is like.

Here is a little floral birthday card I made earlier in the year.

I found the paper with the flowers in my stash.

This is a Creative Expression die.

I have a few birthday cards to send this month I think this will be one of them.

Enjoy the rest of the week.
