Oh Christmas Tree

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? I hope things are going well for you.

I have been making Christmas cards again. This time with stamps sent to me by the Isobel Craft Collection.

I used the holly stamp from the set to create the background with heat embossing and Distress Ink.

This is the Christmas Design stamp set available from the Etsy shop at https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/236329368/a6-set-of-photo-polymer-clear-stamps?ref=shop_home_active_4

The Christmas Tree was stamped onto watercolour card with Black Archival ink and coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.

This is one of the greetings in the set.

I was thrilled to receive this stamp set and this is another Christmas card for my stash I am well on target now I should be finished soon.

Enjoy the reset of the week.

Angel of Peace

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How was your weekend? Our daughter came home and we talked about lots of things to do with the wedding. We also cried together a bit as one of our good family friends has just died after a two year fight with cancer. Life does have it's ups and downs.

I made this card after being inspired by the demonstrations I saw Sue Wilson do when we watched her live at Ally Pally.

For the background I used the new 8" x 8" Falling Snow embossing folder.  The ribbon was being sold for 50p a roll at Ally Pally.

This is last year's Christmas Angel designed by Sue Wilson from Creative Expressions.

This die came with a dove a few years ago.

I might make a few more cards like this. I do like the new embossing folder.

Fantasy Stampers - Watch the Birdie

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here! Our daughter is staying wedding planning will ensue.

Well today a new challenge starts on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blog and the new theme is Watch the Birdie. This is a good theme and it could include Christmas cards which I know I and many others are  very keen to make at the moment. Christmas will be here before we know it.

I created the background  for this card with Pixie powders on water colour card.

This is the House Martin stamp from Clarity stamps. The birds were stamped with Black Archival onto water colour card and then coloured with my black Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen. I used a brush and some water to draw out the colour. The birds were cut out by hand.

This is a Visible Image stamp just stamped in black straight on to the background.

I did enjoy making this card. Why not have a go at our challenge.

Enjoy your weekend.

Take care.

Home for Christmas

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? Somehow my afternoons are becoming very busy and not much crafting is happening that isn't what I expected to happen. Tomorrow we are off to see Mamma Mia at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton I am very excited.

I was thrilled when I received the free gift with Simply Cards and Papercraft this month. There is an embossing folder, some dies and some stamps. Here is the card I made.

The brick paper is some textured white paper from my stash that was inked with Distress Ink. The door and the frame were created with the embossing folder. I embossed it  in white and cut out the whole frame and then I embossed it in black and cut out the door. I did a black door as our daughter's new house has a black door. The knocker and the letter box were stamped with Perfect Medium and heat embossed with a silver powder.

The wreath was made with the dies that came with the set. I did have a lot of fun sticking the berries on.

The lamp was stamped with Perfect Medium and heat embossed with a copper powder.

The urn and the foliage were stamped and cut out by hand.

Here you can see me and my husband on the front row of the audience watching Sue Wilson at Ally Pally last weekend. Yes we were on telly again. It was wonderful watching Sue demonstrate.

I was rather pleased with how this card turned out. All I added apart from card was a sentiment cut with some Britannia dies.

I hope enjoy the rest of the week.

Ruby Wedding Anniversary Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Happy Monday. I hope your week has started well.  I had a lovely time at Ally Pally and I chatted to lots of crafty people. I spent lots of money. We even got on telly, even if my husband did keep falling asleep in the front row. It was a good day and worth the early start.

I was chatting to one of my friends and it became clear that she and her husband would soon be celebrating their Ruby Wedding Anniversary. So I decided that I would  make them a card.

I used my favourite heart lattice embossing folder to create the background.

I cut the 40th with my Britannia number dies.

The heart was made with the Sue Wilson Heart of Hearts die set.

This was cut with some more Britannia dies.

I hope the couple liked this card. It was their anniversary when we were are at Ally Pally.

Have a great week.

A Train Masculine Birthday Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a great weekend. I am posting now as tomorrow we will be setting off early to head off to Ally Pally. I  do love that craft show. Last time we managed to get on telly. I wonder what will happen this time.

We have been  invited to a friend's birthday tea next week. I knew he loves trains so I hunted through my stash to find images and papers I could use.

The backing paper was a real find it was in the middle of one of my craft magazines.

I was thrilled when I found this image.  I based the design round the image and the paper I found worked with it so well with it.

Here I am using my Sue Wilson Happy Birthday die again it is so good for masculine cards.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Alphabet Challenge - O - for Oval

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Well the weekend is almost here we have got to Friday. I am very excited as we are going to Ally Pally  on Sunday. I have such a long list of things to buy most of it for our daughter's wedding. It should be fun.

The Alphabet Challenge has a new challenge starting today the letter is O and the theme is Oval. As soon as I saw this challenge I knew I wanted to use my Tattered Lace Oval Shutter die set. I also needed a birthday card for my father-in-law and I knew he would love a card made with this die.

The die set comes with all the dies to make the mats and layers.

This sailing ship is another Tattered Lace die and I made the waves with another one.

The Happy Birthday die is one by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

What is totally brilliant is that the card folds up like this and fits in a regular envelope.

I hope that you have a great weekend.

Forever Friends cute Christmas cards

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? I am slowly getting used to my timetable. It is nice just working mornings and coming home in the afternoon to craft or have time with friends.

I have been making Christmas card again. I made 12 of this design. They are also part of the envelope challenge set by my husband. I have now used 20 out of the 50 envelopes we found the other day. Only another 30 to go.

The design is similar to the robin stocking ones I made before. I cut down the card blanks to make them fit the envelopes and cut the mats and layers accordingly.

I have had this cute Forever Friends stamp for a while. I cut a sheet of watercolour card into 12 pieces and stamped the image onto each piece with black archival ink. They were then coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.  I think you already know how much I love these pens.

This is just to prove there are 12 of them. They are also nice a flat for posting.

I do hope that you enjoy the rest of the week.

Counting Sheep

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How was your weekend? We visited both sets of parents on Saturday and did jobs in the garden on Sunday we took 4 large bags of garden waste to the tip. I can't believe next week is Ally Pally I am so looking forward to it.

I was very naughty recently and I ordered some  lovely dies. Really I should be saving money to spend on things for our daughter's wedding but you know how it is the dies were very tempting.

Aren't these sheep cute and it is one die set and the sheep can face different ways. It is a Marianne Collectable die set.

So cute.

They can point in different directions but facing the front.

The cloud and stars are in the die set too. I just had to use the stars.

Have a wonderful week.

Fantasy Stampers - In the Fall

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I am so glad it is the weekend. I know I am only part time but I feel like I have been doing two jobs this week.  I am going to have to get something sorted out. I hope that you have had a better week than me. Today we are off visiting my husband's parents it is his dad's birthday in the week.

The new challenge starts today on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge blog the theme is In the Fall. That just has to mean leaves doesn't it? I was so thrilled when the Crafter's Inspiration magazine Issue 11 came with a set of leaf stamps with matching dies.

I created the background by stamping the leaves with Perfect Medium and then heat embossing them. After that I added some Distress Ink.

I cut an aperture in the background and I made a frame for it. I do like my apertures to have a frame. The leaves were again stamped with Perfect Medium and this time heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I used Distress Ink to add colour to the leaves. They were then cut out with the matching dies. The central stamp is one by Visible Image. The ribbon was in my stash with the bow in place.

I did enjoy making this card Autumn colours are so beautiful. Have a great weekend.

Cute Baby Robin - Christmas Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? I hope it is going well. My job is interesting to say the least I am looking after two boys in different classes at the same time. I hope it gets resolved soon. Though it is good for the number of steps I am doing on my Fitbit.

I have been making Christmas cards again. When I made the card for the current challenge on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog I printed two of the baby robins by Beccy Muir onto watercolour card. I found the second image yesterday and I decided to colour it with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. I wanted to try something different with the background.

I decided to make an aperture card. I like my apertures to have a frame. I used my tonic circle dies to create both.

What I did different with the background this time  is to  create it first and that way I could get the blue right up to the image. The stronger coloured pens covered over any blue that got on to the image.

I have now made over 70 Christmas cards I am not worried anymore that I won't be finished in time this year. In between times I am experimenting with flowers for the wedding. It will all be fine.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Unicorn Challenge Blog Happy Birthday!

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope your week is going well. I am back at work now but just mornings. The issues I had with my job have been resolved. So I won't be retiring just yet.

Can you believe that the Unicorn Challenge blog has been going for a whole year and this is its first birthday. This is a special challenge we have sponsors and there will be prizes.

The card I have made uses an image from one of the sponsors Di's Digis. My husband and I have been invited to the wedding of one of his work colleagues and I have made a card for everyone at his office to sign. The wedding is in October not so far away now. I am planning to make a little gift as well.

This is an 8" x 8" card. To create the background I used the Heart Lattice embossing folder this is so useful.

This image is called First Dance by Di's Digis. The happy couple were coloured with Promarkers.

Click on the logo and you should be taken to the store.

The sentiment was cut with a Tattered Lace die.

I used the Sue Wilson ivy dies to make the frame. The flowers were made with a punch.

I do like the couple like this card. Don't forget to enter our challenge there are lots of prizes and something special if you used a unicorn in your design.

Have a great week.
