Tattered Lace - ScanNcut - USB stick 2 A Little Bit of Everything

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope that you had a great weekend. The Christmas Fair was amazing and we saw Green Santa. We even met some of our family there. But in a heart beat everything changed. My husband slipped getting off the carousel and he broke his wrist. He has just come home from hospital he had to have an operation and he now has plates in his wrist.

Sometime ago I was  to be able to buy a Brother ScanNcut with help from my Mother-in-law. As you probably know I make samples for Tattered Lace television shows on Create and Craft. Recently I was sent an email asking if I could test some cutting files for a new USB stick from Tattered Lace for the ScanNcut. The new stick was released today on Create and Craft with Mel Heaton demonstrating and as you have probably guessed I have made some samples.

This is what I made none of these samples were shown.

This was made with the violin and bow cutting file.

This was made with the ballet shoes cutting file.

This was made with the Summer Meadow cutting file.

This was made with the Kaleidoscope flowers and leaves.

I used the same files to make this bag.

I am very pleased to have my husband home. I do hope that you have a good week.

Happy Crafting

Fantasy Stampers Midway Motivation - Traditional Christmas

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

It is Saturday and we are off to the  Victorian Festival of Christmas at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard they even have a  Green Santa, apparently it is traditional. I will try to get some photos.

This is a first for me this is the midway motivation card for the current challenge on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge blog and the theme is Traditional Christmas. So I have made a card with a Santa and a sleigh . I suppose this is the opposite to my  traditional card last week.

This is quite a straight forward card. The background was made with ink and a post-it note mask. The stars were stamped with Perfect Medium and heat embossed with a silver powder. The houses and trees were cut with a Tattered Lace die set that I got with one of  their magazines. The sentiment came free with a set of Christmas stamps from a magazine.

This is a Trimcraft stamp and it came free with another magazine and a rather nice paper pad. He was stamped in black ink that was then heat embossed with a clear powder. I coloured the image with my Promarkers.

I like how this card came together I have been wanting to use the stamp and  dies for some time.

I will let you know what the Victorian Festival is like.

Alphabet Challenge - Letter U - Under the Weather

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I am sorry this will be a quick post I am seriously short of time I have three deadlines that I have to meet and our daughter is beginning the process of buying her first house and there is lots to do. It is all very exciting and things are moving very fast at the moment.

Today sees the start of a new challenge on the Alphabet Challenge Blog the the letter is U and the theme is Under the Weather.

This is a tiny card just 11cm x 11 cm. I had the LOTV image in my stash and it was just so appropriate for the challenge. I made a frame for the image using my dies. I just love making frames and cutting apertures. The paper and ribbon was in my stash. I should make more small cards they are fun.

I hope you have a great Friday. I wonder if you will get any shopping bargains.

Happy Crafting.

Tattered Lace - Playful Penguins

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How has you week been so far? We went to the theatre last night to see Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. It was a very good show we are so lucky to have such a good theatre close to where we love.

Tattered Lace shows at the weekend this is my second set of samples for the Create and Craft shows last Saturday. It was fun spotting all my samples around the set and  big thrill when they were featured on screen.

Here are all the samples together.

This is my favourite card it also shows the rotational square dies that I used to make the border.

This was the first card I made when I was trying the dies out.

I do like making these gift bags they are fun to make. There is a tutorial for these at the top of my blog.

I didn't spot these bags on set I still think they are a fun idea and they would make a nice gift.

Here they are again. I hope that you enjoy the rest of the week. I have three deadlines that I need to meet. I had better get started.

Tattered Lace Autumn Trios Collection

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you have had a great weekend. We did get some of our Christmas shopping done.  We also went  to a brand new cinema in Whiteley it only opened on Thursday last week. It smelt new and the leg room is amazing the film was good too.

As you are probably already aware I sometimes make samples for Tattered Lace shows on Create and Craft TV. This weekend there was a mini weekender and I had sent in two lots of samples for these shows. The first set I am sharing today is from the Autumn Trios collection. Being Trios means that there are stamps, dies and a mini embossing folder that all match. In the big bundle there was also a CD rom that had images that match everything else.

Here are the samples I sent in altogether.

This is the sets before I opened them I didn't get the CD rom.

There are three sizes of leaf die the stamp and the embossing folder are in one size but it all works well together. I loved the Autumn Leaf set and I enjoyed making this CAS card the sentiment stamp is from Visible Image. The leaves were stamped on to white card and coloured with Distress ink. I do like that you can cut three leaves all at the same time.

I cut an aperture from some wood effect backing paper. I had to cut a frame for the aperture I don't like them plain. The Owls came from one set and I used the leaf embossing folder to make the background in the aperture. The leaves were all cut from kraft card and they were inked with Distress ink. This card was featured on Stephanie Weightman's Facebook page.

I used the leaf stamp to create the background for this tag. The leaves were left over from my CAS card.  I love making tags.

In each set of stamps there are some extra stamps I used those from the Lily Spray set to make the background for this card.

I did the same for this tag.

I used the Love Bird Berries to make this calendar. This time I didn't use the stamps.

It was fun watching for my makes on Create and Craft I spotted everything but the calendar.

Have a great week. I will be back soon with my other set of samples.

Happy Crafting

Fantasy Stampers - Traditional Christmas

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here! Do you have plans? We were going to go to the Excel in London, to the craft show, but we have decided to go shopping locally instead. There are still a few presents we need to get. Anyone that knows me knows that I don't like to leave anything to the last minute.

Well today sees the start of a new challenge on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blog and the theme is Traditional Christmas. That is just the right type of challenge for this time of year.

This is quite a CAS card for me. I have been messing around with this style quite a bit this year. I used the large Nativity stamp and sentiment stamp both from Clarity stamps. I made my own mask to do the inking I like getting the inked border around the edge of the top layer. Both stamps were stamped with Perfect Medium and heat embossed with a black sparkly powder. I made the mats and layers in traditional colours.

As I said I have been playing around with this design. Here are some of the other ones I made,  you could almost play spot the difference.

They are lovely and flat for posting.

I will leave you with the one I chose to use as the challenge inspiration. If you check back on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blog tomorrow the winners of the previous challenge Winter Wonderland will be posted.

Having used exclusively Clarity stamps I am entering Challenge 33 on their challenge blog

Have a great weekend.

A Birthday Card for a Special Surprise

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How has your week been so far? We are now at the half way point so we are getting ever closer  to the weekend. I have lots to do before we get there but I feel like I am catching up on outstanding projects.

The girl who comes and gives me a Sport's Massage once in a while asked if I would make  a birthday card for her mum. She wants to take her mum on a cruise and this will be her special present. I think it is a lovely generous idea. They have both had a tough year and it will do them both good.

I was asked to give the card a nautical feel. I used all the blue shades of Centura Pearl card that I have to make the layers. I have just bought the Sue Wilson Double Pierced Noble Square and Retangle dies and I used them to cut some of the layers. There are now B sets to match these dies, they have gone on my wish list.

I used some of the other dies from the Noble collection to create the frame. I heard Julia Watts say to do the embossing before the cutting and I did this and it worked a treat.  The ship was cut with a Signature die.

Under the ship I put the message that had be requested. I used the bunting from the Flower Pot Shelf die again.

I am a bit of a sucker for competitions on Facebook and I often enter. Well on Friday last week I was lucky and I won this set of dies on the Hochanda Facebook page. I think they are going to be very useful.

I hope my massage lady likes this card. I hope that you enjoy the rest of the week.

Confirmation Card for a Girl

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How was your weekend? Some shocking things have unfolded in France.

I am sharing the second card I made for the Confirmation Service last Sunday. This one was for a girl.

I used the Peony Blossom Charisma die and matching CD images as the focus for this card. I love this combination of colours. I chose the colour of the layers to match the colours of the flowers. The top pale blue layer was embossed with the Sue Wilson Rows of Bows Pinpoint embossing folder.

I cut a white oval for the centre of the card and embossed it with a small dotty embossing folder. The cross was cut with a Spellbinders die. I cut four of the images and arrange them around the oval.

I cut the letters with some Tonic alphabet dies. I added Candi to the corners of the card.

This was the same size as the card for the boy and the names were placed in the same place. The Vicar was pleased when I dropped the cards off on Friday. I wasn't at the service to see the Confirmation which was a shame I had rather a lot to do.

I do hope that you have a good week.

Happy crafting.

Tattered Lace - Gatefold Embossing Folders

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. It is hard not to feel subdued after the awful events that unfolded in Paris last night. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.

I will be crafting later I have another Tattered Lace Deadline. We have been out and done some Christmas shopping, life goes on.

Yesterday there saw a new release of  some Tattered Lace Gatefold Embossing folders. They sold out after the first show on Create and Craft.  I am sure they will be back in stock soon. There are four embossing folders altogether, I was sent one with its matching die, I made a few samples for the shows.

I am rather proud of this card mainly because I actually used my Brushos to make the back ground. The embossing folders emboss nicely and there is a matching die to cut them out. I used it to make a hill. I used the other die I was sent to make flowers.

I have a bit of a confession that I didn't use the embossing folder in the way it was intended. You can actually make a complete gatefold card with it Rossella Cottrell demonstrated this on Create and Craft. I just embossed single sheets and cut it out with the matching die. I love the curvy shape.

I put two of the cut outs together to cover the front of this gate fold card. I  this invitation would be easy to adapt to any colour scheme.

This is a tiny pizza box style box I found the instructions on the internet. I trimmed down the embossed cut outs to cover the box.

Here are my samples all together.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend. We all have a lot to think about.

Confirmation Card for a Boy

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

What can I say we are nearly at the weekend just one day to go? I have lots to do I expect you all have too.

I was asked to make cards for two young people who will be getting confirmed this coming Sunday. I did get a bit more notice than I usually get for my makes. I have finished the card for the boy so I can share that one with you today.

So what do you do for a boy? I decided to go with bold bright colours and an unfussy design. Of course there had to be a cross with it being a confirmation. I have had the cloud embossing folder for a while but I haven't used it much. The letters for the name were cut with some Tonic dies that I have. The bunting was cut with my Tattered Lace Flower Pot Shelf die.

The cross was cut from gold mirror card, with a Spellbinders die, and backed with white card so I could raise it on foam pads.

I will share the girl's card when I manage to get that finished, I have made at least made a start. I have a few outstanding commissions at the moment. I had better get a move on with them or they will be due before I know it.

Enjoy the rest of the week.
