Christmas cards made from recycled Packaging.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going. We are both invigilating this week and the first part of next week. These are practice exams for the Year 10s. There isn't much time to craft. It is lovely to have this afternoon off today. This means we can catch up with a few things.

I should have been working on a different project but I ended up making two Christmas cards from some packaging I had been saving.

The background is the packaging I had been saving. It was just too pretty to throw away. The craft card I used comes between the layers in a takeaway box from M&S. I did add the Snowflakes corner dies from the John Next Door range. I have used these corners so much.

I found two matching old Christmas Cards and I cut out the image and its mats with a mix of dies from the John Next Door range.

The greeting was cut into the card with the Christmas Stencil Sentiment dies also from the John Next Door range.

So that is another two cards for my Christmas stash. Now I must get on with the project I have been putting off.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Blue Valentine

Hello my Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week. This weekend we are going to the theatre with some friends to see Groan Ups. This is a rescheduled performance and we all know why. We are hoping to have a meal together after the show.

I haven't been around much. Life is pretty hectic at the moment. What with four elderly parents to support, my sister who also needs support and of course our first grandchild expected in June. Crafting has been pushed to the background somewhat. I have been making things for the two design teams I am still on and I will show you those when the time is right.

Yesterday I managed to make a Valentine's Day card for my dear hubby.

I hunted through the old cards that I have kept and found this cute image of Tatty Ted. I based the colour scheme around the colour on the bears nose.

Aren't those bears cute.

I used one of my older dies for the sentiment. The hearts were cut with a Creative Expressions die.

I will be making cards for special people. I do feel we will be buying more cards from now on.

Have a good weekend.

A Cute Robin on a Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? On Wednesday we had to get to my parents house early as a hospital bed was being delivered for my mum. We got there at the same time as the delivery driver. It was okay as he was very pleasant and he didn't mind waiting until we had cleaned the room. We also visited my in-laws. My lovely mum-in-law is not doing very well. She was back at hospital yesterday for another blood transfusion. This weekend we are hoping to  visit our daughter and son-in-law.

I picked up lots of Christmas cards at our parent's houses. Here is a card I made with one of them.

I just could not resist this robin. I found a backing paper in my stash to use with it.

I used some circle dies to cut out the robin and it's mats. The sentiment was made with the stencil dies from the John Next Door range. The Holly Corner I added is a John Next Door die too.

I am starting to build up my Christmas cards for this year.

Have a good weekend.

My last few Christmas Cards from 2021

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a quiet one as usual. My back is playing up a bit still. So I can't craft for too long and I am working on a project for the beginning of February. I am sorry I have been neglecting my blog.

Was looking back through my files of cards and I found three that I hadn't blogged. All the images for these cards were drawn by our daughter.

I often ask our daughter to draw images of our friends especially if they are keen on particular characters. These friends enjoy Star Trek.

This was the image our daughter drew for this couple's wedding last year. I made it into a Christmas card this time.

This is the Christmas card I made for my hubby. He challenged me to make a simple card and that is what I did. Though when he opened the card I did have to remind him of the challenge. Our daughter drew the Snowmen for me.

I hope the start to your New Year has been good.

I am hoping to do a bit more crating soon.

Have a lovely week

First Christmas Card of 2022

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Happy New Year to everyone. We have had a quiet few days. My back is finally starting to feel much better. So I can now do some gentle crafting, Thank you for all your lovely comments on my last post of 2021 my favourite makes.

I was putting away the Christmas cards I was actually inspired to make one of them into a new card. I am trying not to do so much lifting and bending when I craft, that is limiting what I can make to some extent.

Here is the first Christmas card I have made this year. In fact it is first thing I have crafted at all.

I used one of my kraft card blanks. The lace was from my stash as was the pattered craft card and the gold mirror card.

This is the image from the card. I trimmed it down and added a mirror card mat.

When I need to get going again with my crafting I usually start with Christmas cards as simple ones are still effective.

Enjoy the rest of the week.
