Happy Retirement

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your weekend been so far? Some people get an extra day today. Which is nice. We have had a lovely weekend so far. On Sunday we visited our daughter and son-in-law to celebrate our daughter's birthday. We spent our time having walks with the dog and enjoying afternoon tea. They really do live in a lovely place with walks right on their doorstep. On Thursday last week we had our second jabs. This time neither of us had any side effects.

On Friday last week our sister-in-law retired. She was the last one of our little group that was working so I had to send a card.

The background is made with the Tartan die from the John Next Door range. I am looking forward to using this die for Christmas card. I did extend the die a little to make a larger card.

I used a selection of Stencil dies from the John Next Door range to make the sentiment.

The Stencil Alphabet die set was used to make the name.

I know she loved her card. I think she had a good send off too. In a few weeks will be able to have a celebration.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Have a good week.

Itty Bitty Botz Encore Week at Beccy's Place

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are having a lovely weekend. The weather has been very good. Today is our daughter's 30th birthday. We are going to be spending most of the day with them.

This week is Encore Week at Beccy's Place where one of the older digital images sets is highlighted. This time the image set is Itty Bitty Botz. A set of really cute robots.

Here is the card I made using the Shutter Card die set from the John Next Door range.

I have had the rocket paper in my stash for so long. It was nice to use it on a project. I used the precoloured images.

This was a fun card to make. I think the Shutter Card style suited the robots.

Happy First Birthday Murph

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? Yesterday we had our second jab. We were in and out of the vaccination centre so quickly. There was even time for a coffee on the way home. The last time we went there was torrential rain. This time all was sunny.

Today is the first birthday of our daughter and son-in-law's dog, Murph. He is a rescue dog from Romania. He is a lovely boy and he is very willing to learn. At the moment he is getting used to visitors. Lockdown hasn't helped with this. Today we are meeting them all in an enclosed field near where they live and then Murph can have some time off lead with there being no chance of getting lost or having strange encounters.

I have had the backing paper in my stash for such a long time. It was lovely to be able to use it. The Stencil Alphabet dies from the John Next Door range are perfect for personalising cards.

This is a recent photo of Murph. Murph does have his own Instagram page. He is called @megamuttmurph and he can be reached HERE. He does take a good photo.

This is quite a clean and simple card. I have never made a birthday card for a dog before.

Have a good weekend.

A Christmas Card for the May Rudolph Days Challenge

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? Today is the day we are going for our second jab. I will let you know how we get on.

The May Rudolph Days Challenge has already started. This challenge runs from the 25th of the month until the last day of the month. I had to go back through my files to find a Christmas card I hadn't posted. I have been very busy and I haven't made any Christmas cards lately. I am hoping to get back on track. Here is what I found.

The patterned papers were in my stash. All the dies I used are older ones from the John Next Door range.

This is not the scene that comes with the Round Bauble die set. The scene comes from the Sam's Circles die set. I added the Santa from the Christmas Time die set.

I am not sure which die set this sentiment comes from. It seemed appropriate with all the deer on the card.

This is another card for my stash.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Beccy's Place - Just add Flowers

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We are getting closer to our second jab. Thursday will be here before we know it. I am helping at a Felting Workshop on Wednesday. It our daughter's birthday at the weekend. I really aim hoping for no side effects we will just have to wait and see.

I am one of the Blog Contributors at Beccy's Place and I get to work with some fabulous images. The Just Add Flowers digital image set is no exception.

For this card I made a background with Snippets of Patterned Papers. I used the A Little Something Digital Stamp set (which is available HERE) to add flowers to the jug.

This is the Just Add Flowers digital image set it is available HERE.  As you can see I have only scratched the surface of the potential this set has. I really enjoyed colouring the jugs and it brought back memories of my lovely Nan.

For my next card I added flowers with my Tatty Daisy die from the John Next Door range.

The final card is a tiny card. All the flowers and butterflies were left over from another crafting session. This was a great way to use them.

Here they all are together. They were fun to make.

Diamond Point Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a busy day on Saturday and a more chilled day on Sunday. We did manage to get our for a walk before the rain started. Then there was time to craft. This week is going to be busy too. On Thursday we are due to get our second vaccine. I hope we don't get any reactions this time.

I have been seeing lots of Diamond Point cards around Facebook. Well being me I had to have a go. John Lockwood did demonstrate this style of card on the Craft Store when he was demonstrating the limited edition kit earlier in the month.

This one was made with all Claritystamp products including the card blank. There are tutorials for this style of card if you check on the internet. I used one of my Designer paper pads.

The flower square was a club die with a different sentiment. In one of the Claritystamp  offers I treated myself to some corner dies that came with other sentiments one of which was Happy Birthday.

I made this one for my crafty friend's birthday. As it could be hand delivered the care could be a little bigger.

Southey Squares and Stencil Relatives new from the John Next Door Range

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We seem to be getting busier and busier. This week I have two felting workshops to help at and I have a few things that I need to be making.

Today is the day the John Lockwood aka John Next Door releases his Southey Square dies and the Stencil Relatives and the Stencil Family Occasions die sets.

I had the Southey Squares and the Stencil Relative dies to work with. I also used the Periwinkle die set and the Small Flowers and Small leaves die sets.

The brief was to use as many combinations of relatives as I could. First up Special Cousin.

Now Grandfather and Grandmother. I was thinking of my husband's parents when I made this one.

I don't have a step daughter. This card could be for any achievement.

We are actually Great Aunt and Uncle to our great niece and nephew.

I do have a special son-in-law.

I did use the Stencil Number dies to add to this card. It is just great how many combinations you can make with the dies.

So here are all my samples together. At 6:00 I will find out which one's have been used on the Craft Store shows.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Left over Designer Paper Thank You Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a quiet one. The weather was good for crafting. We did get out for a couple of walks between the showers and we did a little gardening. Today restrictions are lifted a bit more. We won't be rushing to do anything. There is plenty of time. It does mean that the walking group my husband attends on a Monday won't have to restrict their numbers to six.

When you have a birthday you need thank you cards. So on Sunday when it was raining and that is what I was doing. I managed to make seven. I was trying out the Diamond Point card design. I did make a few which I will share with you later.  I was left with lots of off cuts. So being me they just had to be made into card.

Apart from the Glitter card just about everything in this card was made from left over bits and pieces. The background was made with bits of Claritystamp Designer papers laid over each other. All the papers I used were from the Antarctica pad.

This is one of the Claritystamp club dies. I have used if for thank you cards  before. I like it a lot.

That's the cards made now they need writing and some will be posted and some will be hand delivered.

Have a good week.

Beccy' Place - Funny Farm

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We didn't meet our friends in Lymington the plans just didn't work out. On the plus side they  came to see us on Thursday.  The weather held out for us to eat and the garden and to have a chat. They are friends from our university days it was so nice to catch up.

I am one of the Blog Contributors for Beccy's Place. I get to work with some fabulous images. This time I used the Funny Farm digital stamp set that has just been released.

Here we have a quirky horse that I coloured with my Faber Castell Polychromo pencils. I do make my own Candy I have quite a few dies now that cut perfect circles to use.

This is the Funny Farm image set which is available HERE.  It comes with lots of sentiments.

Here is the card with a colouring chart so you can see what colours I used. I do find colouring very relaxing.

Here is the next card I made this time with the precoloured images. What I love about digi images is that you can resize them and flip them easily. To make the background I used lots of strips of patterned paper.

Here are the two cards together. Enjoy the rest of the week

Floral Thinking of You Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? I had a lovely birthday. Our daughter and son-in-law came for lunch in the garden. Before that we all went for a walk in the wood near us with their dog. We got on a lot better with the dog this time. I think he is starting to know us. It was a great relaxing day. Yesterday we went down to Gun Wharf Quays and had a meal outside. This wasn't quite as enjoyable has it should have been as it was very cold and windy. I did get a good deal on Lindt chocolates in the shop there. Later on I can show you what I used them for.

Here is a Thinking of You card that I made with some John Next Door dies.

The patterned paper came from my stash. I used the Small Flowers, Small Leaves and the Small Butterfly dies to surround the sentiment.

This is one of the dies that comes in the Stencil Sayings die set.

Have a great week. We are off to see friends in Lymington today. It will be nice to visit the New Forest.

Anyone for Draughts? Happy Birthday.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been?  The weather has been a bit changeable. We have been out for some good walks. We voted. The garden has been tidied a bit and of course we have had a few coffees outside. This weekend is my birthday so I will be taking it easy for at least Sunday. Today we are meeting friends and doing a walking mystery around Portsmouth. I will let you know how we get on.

Here is another of the samples I made for John's shows on The Craft Store. I have a few more samples to go after this. I am busy making things for new shows coming up.

I made this card with the Stencil Numbers die and the Firth Park Tags die set. I cut lots of the discs and I stacked them to give dimension. I cut the squares for the board with my guillotine. I made the banner across the centre with the Firth Park tag set. I did thread ribbon through the die. The sentiment was cut with the numbers die and the Stencil Sentiment die set. When I make my samples I usually have someone in mind for the cards. Even though they will never receive the card it helps me when designing.

Have a good weekend

A Box Birthday Card for a Special Person

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We had a fantastic walk on Monday before the rain came. We parked on the outskirts of Winchester and walked in to town along the river. There are a few routes you can take. We stopped in Winchester for a coffee and it came with a free chocolate. The round trip was about 5 miles. We even saw some baby ducks on the river. I am having a walk with my friend today. We are walking up to the Country Park so she can see the bluebells. We can get a coffee there as well.

I do like making box cards and they are usually popular with the recipients.

I made this one for a special someone. I made the background paper. To be honest I did it a while ago and I don't remember how I did it. I do have a tutorial for making this type of card it can be reached HERE.  The card I made is slightly bigger than an A4 sheet.

I love the new Stencil Alphabet and the Stencil Number dies from the John Next Door range.

I used the Firth Park tags dies for the sentiment. I also used the glasses from the Champagne Bottle die set and the Leafy Flourish dies.

I was pleased with how the card turned out.

The recipient was very pleased with this card.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Happy Crafting

What do you do with your leftover Designer Paper?

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your weekend been? Some people are lucky and have an extra bank holiday day off today. Being retired this doesn't make so much difference to us. Though we are probably less likely to go out as things will be busier. We had a nice time on Saturday visiting our daughter and meeting their dog again. This visit was more successful and the dog didn't bark at us once. Next weekend they will be visiting us as it will be my birthday. I do hope the weather is good.

I have been using the Claritystamp Designer Paper in a lot of my cards lately and this means that there are bits and pieces of the paper leftover. The paper is far to good to waste so this is what I came up with.

Can you see all the different papers I used to make the background. I think it looks a bit like a quilt.

This is one of the Claritystamp club dies I received last year. I am working my way through my club dies to make sure that I use them. All the black card came from my stash of bits and bobs.

I still have some bits and pieces of Designer paper left I might have another go at this design.

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge #87 - Anything Goes - Sponsor Morgan's Artworld

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

This is unusual for me posting on a Saturday. Well it is the first of the month and the new challenge has started at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog. The theme is the ever popular Anything Goes and the sponsor this time is Morgan's Artworld

I did colour the image first. Then I found some Clarity Designer Paper that went with my colouring very well. I surrounded the image with Leafy Flourish die from the John Next Door range. I made flower with his Cornflower die.

There are many fabulous images in the store click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This image is called Pigs 1 and it is available HERE.  I printed the image onto Neenah cardstock and I coloured it with my Faber Castell Polychromo colouring pencils. I made a frame with the Double Pierced Rectangles from Creative Expressions.

There you have it my card. We have some friends who have a farm I might send it to one of them.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Enjoy your weekend.
