Christmas Cardinal wrapped up nice and warm

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? I had a very busy day yesterday. I got myself to Winchester for an appointment and I managed to do a bit more Christmas shopping. Today will be quieter I have some parcels arriving and of course I am not sure when.

I couldn't resist sharing the card I made with the last of the Christmas Cardinals images from Beccy's Place. I had used the other images and this one needed its turn.

I had this idea in mind. I do love using hexagons and the way that they tessellate. I went through my stash of scraps and found papers with a similar colour palate. I made the design bigger than I needed it so that I could trim it to size.

As I said he is from the Christmas Cardinals images from Beccy's Place they are available HERE. I made the background for the image in Publisher. This works really well with a pre-coloured image as you can loose the background white colour and pull the image to the front. The sentiment comes with the set. He just looks so cute in his scarf.

I had some left over deer from another card so I  added two to the card. The ribbon was on a Christmas gift last year.

I have really enjoyed using this set of images this year. I am sure I will be using them again. This is the last day to enter the November Challenge at Beccy's Place Challenges. I had so much fun joining in with the challenge this year.

Z- Fold Nativity Christmas card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have managed to get lots of things sorted out this week which is good.

I have been really enjoying the November Challenge at Beccy's Place challenges. This will be my last post for the challenge. I can't believe that November will be over so soon.

I had made a z-fold card with some dies from John Next Door and I wondered if the same idea would work with the Scenic Nativity Border dies from Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine. In addition I used the Bethlehem Border die from Taylored Expressions and the Starry Night sky die from Creative Expressions. The Peace die is from Creative Expressions to.

I did cut some extra camels and palm trees. I like to decorate right to the bottom of the panels.

When the card was finished the manger scene was in black. I felt that it didn't show up enough. So I cut another in gold and used the black as a shadow. I do like it when you have an idea and it works out.

A Deer family in a Winter Forest

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I am trying to sort out lots of things. Then on Thursday I have my regular trip to Winchester. I do love this and I get to see the Christmas market which I think is one of the best around.

Last week when I was there I treated myself to some dies in the pre Black Friday sales. I was very keen to play with them. The first thing I made was the card in my previous post. Then I decided to make something a bit simpler.

I have lots of off cuts of white card left over from making wedding invitations this year. They are just the right size to fit the Branched birch die. I inked through the die to make patches darker then I removed the die and lightly inked the trees. I had some navy card to cut the snow for the background.

I found some craft card in my stash of bits and cut the deer from it. I added a bit of ink to them.

The snowflake border was cut in white.

I used the same navy card as the snowy background to cut the sentiment.

I am very pleased with my new dies. They even encouraged me to get my inks out which I haven't done for a long time.

Winter Wonderland Christmas card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are having a good weekend. There is so much to do at this time of year. On Sunday we will be visited our parents. We took  mine out for a meal and then popped  over to see my husband's parents.

Well I was out in Winchester last Thursday and there was 20% off everything in C&H fabrics and they happen to sell Sizzix dies. It would have been rude not to buy anything.

I bought the Winter Wonderland die set with four deer and some snow and the Branched Birch die both from Sizzix. There were many dies I would have liked to buy it was very tempting. I cut a frame with the Stitched Lattice dies from Creative Expressions in black I used Pebeo Gilding wax on it. I used the snow die in the background and added a shiny silver moon. I cut the Branch birch twice I inked through the die and then over the branches so they weren't so bight white.

This is the Contemporary Happy Christmas die from Creative Expressions.

I cut Santa's Sleigh in black and I used Pebeo Gilding wax on the service.

There are four deer in the set three are smaller.

The set has a male deer with antlers to make the female I removed the antlers. The tree was made with one of the Winter Trees dies from Creative Expressions.

I think you could make a nice frame with these dies I might give it a try. This reminds me of the song with the same name Winter Wonderland.

Christmas Cardinal Rocker Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? Yesterday we went to see Rory Bremner and Jan Ravens at our local theatre. It is just 10 mins walk up the road. It is amazing to see people like this so close to where you live. Needless to say they were brilliant and very funny. This weekend will be full of visiting and jobs.

I wanted to make a different card shape and I noticed some rocker cards when I was visiting people's blogs so I decided to have a go.

I used the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions to make the card blank and the mats and layers. I used the snowflake border dies to add some interest.

This cheeky chappy is from the Christmas Cardinals images from Beccy's place available HERE.   I added a sentiment from a John Next Door tag set. Small sentiment are so useful.

I think I will have another go at making a card like this. Now a I need a challenge that is anything but a Square. I do usually make square and rectangle cards.

S is for Simple Nativity Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have another busy day ahead. It will be a real treat I am getting together with a group of people I used to work with. They are a lovely group of ladies. we chat for ages and there is a craft shop nearby.

I bought issue 184 of Simply  Cards and Papercraft mainly for the free gift of the Scenic Nativity Border dies. I knew I had dies in my stash that would work well with them.

To make the night sky I used the Starry Night Sky dies from Creative Expressions. Behind it I place some silver glitter card.

The buildings were cut with the Bethlehem Border die from Taylored Expressions. The gold star die came with the Scenic Nativity Border dies.

The black stable scene and the green hill with palm trees were cut with Scenic dies. I added Peace cut in gold.

This was my first try with this die set. I can see lots of potential for other cards.

Double Twisted Easel Card made with the Christmas Cardinals

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have had the chance to catch up on a few things now that invigilating is out of the way.

I have made a lot of easel cards this year. I think this format is a good way of showing off images. I will have to be careful to send them to people who will know how to display them. I wanted to try something a bit different especially because I know I could flip the images.

I made a double twisted easel card.

This image comes from the Christmas Cardinals set from Beccy's Place which is available HERE.  I used one of the pre-coloured images and place it onto one of my photos.

I used the Happy Christmas die from the Happy Snowflakes die set by John Next Door.

I did mean to have the cardinas facing each other. I might have another go sometime. This card is ideal for the R theme for the November Challenge at Beccy's Place Challenges.

Z - Fold Christmas Scene Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Happy Monday. I hope you had a good weekend and are ready for the week ahead. We visited two garden centres over the two days. On Saturday we visited Rosebourne near Andover to celebrate our Son-in-law's mum's birthday. We had the most amazing cream tea. On Sunday we popped over to Garsons and visited their Christmas shop. The different sections are themed around musicals. Of course we had coffee and cake too. It would have been rude not to. I have another busy week coming up.

When I made my first Z-fold Christmas card I started thinking how I could I could change the design. This card is slightly larger.

The main part of the card is 6" x 6" and the side panel are 3" x "6. I used both the Snow Scenes and the Deer Scenes die sets from John Next Door  to make the decorative edges.

This shows how the the Z-fold works I do decorate all the way down to the bottom. The greeting will go on the back.

I am sure I will be making a few more of these cards they are so easy and very effective. Not just for Christmas . For Beccy's Challenge maybe I could go for Quiet.

Christmas Cardinal Easel Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Well we have got to Friday the gateway to the weekend. I hope you have something nice planned. Today I am helping at a Felting Workshop. Today we will be making book covers. I did actually finish the pot that I made last time.

I have been entering the November Challenge at Beccy's Place Challenges and I was lucky enough to win some credit. Recently she released the Christmas Cardinals images and I just had to treat myself to them. If I don't do that no one will.

I have made a few easel cards this year. I know I have enough crafter's to send them to who will know how to display them.

This cute little image is from the Christmas Cardinals digital stamp set from Beccy's Place and is available HERE.   I used the pre-coloured image and put it onto my own photo.

I made the stopper for the easel with the Happy Christmas die from the Happy Snowflakes set from John Next Door.

Have a great weekend.

Golden Bell Christmas card.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? This is what some people refer to as hump day the middle of the working week. I will be off out to invigilate a bit later today. Only one more day to go after this  and on Friday I will be helping at a Felting Workshop. This time I think we are going to make a cover for a notebook.

I think I am starting to get on top on my Christmas card makes. But  I couldn't resist having another  play with the Golden Bell image from Beccy's Place.

For the background I used the Snowflake Square die from John Next Door and over the top I placed his Ivy Spray dies.

This is the Golden Bell image it is available HERE.  I used the precoloured version I just added some blue around the image with one of my Promarkers and a Blender.

This is the Happy Christmas die from the Happy Snowflakes set from John Next Door.

This card is nice and flat for posting.

A Christmas Shaker Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I am into my second week of invigilating. It is really strange getting up early in the morning. It will be nice to have a bit of extra money for some treats at Christmas. This time last year I had no money at all coming in and I felt very odd buying my husband Christmas presents with his money it didn't seem right. Now I have a tiny pension and the invigilating money. So he will have a good present this year.

I was going through my files and I found a Christmas  card that hadn't been blogged.

I do like making Shaker Cards. The Snow Globe die from Creative expressions works so well when teamed with treat cups. Don't forget to look at your packaging though as I have found some that will work with the die as well. I used the Falling Snow Embossing folder to add texture to the background paper.

I created the scene inside with dies. The Sky was cut with the Christmas Night Sky die from Creative Expressions and I used the Christmas Cottage Scenes dies as well. The Snowman was made with a Crafter's Companion die that came with the Advent Calendar last year. (I have treated myself to an Advent Calendar this year.) The snow was created with small white beads.

This is a Creative Expressions die. I used Pebeo Gilding was on the sentiment and the Snow Globe.

These types of cards are always popular. I am not sure who will get this one yet.

Not Just Cards Challenge blog - November Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your weekend going? Today is a rather special day and we are off to church for a Remembrance service. I think it is going to be very busy.

As today is 11th the new challenge starts on the Not Just Cards Challenge blog and the theme is Anything Goes. I am sharing the card I made for my friend's special birthday.

I decided to make rosettes. I used my trusty Hougie Board to do the scoring. I made 5 rosettes in the end. I added two doilies and some patterned paper to the background.

Why not come and join us our challenge are always Anything Goes. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

I added die cut circles to each.

I added die cut details to each one.

The glasses seem appropriate for celebrating.

This is the Poppy Wave that my friend has created in the entrance to our church. People of all ages made poppies of all different shapes and sizes,

I am not sure if this friend liked the card. We did have trouble going to the party which was a friend's house and we had been given the wrong house number.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend
