An Agricultural themed card for a lady who has just bought a farm.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I hope you haven't been too affected by the weather which has been extreme to say the least. I should be helping at another Felting Workshop this morning but I think it might be cancelled.

A young couple we know have made the bold move to buy a farm in France. Their aim is to raise cattle, host holidays and run courses. The farm is called Élevage Jolivet and they have a blog and a Youtube channel. I think they are very brave but it is something they have both wanted to do for a long time. Their wedding reception was held in a barn which we helped to decorate. So you won't be surprised at the card I made for our friend's birthday.

As soon as I saw this set of images at Beccy's Place called Farm Fresh Digital stamps  I just had to have them and I knew who to make a card for. The lady in question does have a red tractor at the farm. The banner was a digital image that I got free last year. I used Publisher to make a background and arrange the images. I do like make cards with digital images. Especially now I have found out how to set a transparent colour. With Precoloured images this works a treat.

I hope she liked this card her birthday was last weekend.

Stay safe in this cold weather.

Happy crafting

Christmas in February

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? I hope you did something nice. We had a whirlwind of a time. On Saturday we headed off to Farnborough to visit the Art of Craft shop in North Camp. What with the Farnborough craft show being cancelled they were on the second day of a Craft Extravaganza. I was able to meet up with John Lockwood again. We actually come from that area and we were able to drop off wedding invitation samples to our nephew and his fiancee. Then we visited both sets of parents. On Sunday our daughter and son-in-law came to collected their animals and they treated us to a lovely lunch at a lovely local pub. Most of the tidying up is done just a bit to finish off today.

I had a little bit of free time last week so I decided to make a couple of Christmas cards with two challenges in mind.

The background mat with the decorative edge was cut on my Scan'n'cut which I have been trying to use more. It was a stored shape that I could cut to the size I wanted.

This image is called Quilted Deer and is available free on Beccy's Place blog. One of the challenges I want to enter is a sketch challenge on the  Beccy's Place  blog.

Here is the second card I made.

This is another free image from Beccy's place. He is called Stanley with Bauble.

Guess where this sentiment came from? Yes Beccy's place again.

Here are the two cards together.

Have a great week.

Happy Crafting.

Crafty Catz Challenge 405 - Anything Goes with the optional twist of Birthdays

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Well here we are Friday has come around again. I am just off out to help at a Felting Workshop this time to make a pot. Watch this space.

The new challenge starts today on the Crafty Catz Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of Birthdays. This time the sponsor is Time for Tea Designs.

I found some sunflower themed papers in my stash and I used them for the background,

Time for Tea Designs is the Sponsor for this challenge if you click on the logo you will be taken to the store.

This image is called Sunflower Girl and is available HERE. I printed he on to Neenah card and I coloured her with Promarkers.

I made a sunflower with a Spellbinders die set.

This is a stamp that I have had for a long time. It is so useful for adding a sentiment when I don't have much space.

I do love sunflowers they are so bright and cheerful.

Have a great weekend. I might even show you what I make at the workshop sometime.

Snowdrop Lattice Sympathy Card.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I hope everything is okay for you. My weeks seem to be rather busy I am not quite sure how it happens. Today I am off to make paper daffodils with a friend.  On Friday I will be helping at my first Felting Workshop for a while. The lady who runs them has become a Grandma again and unfortunately her father died recently.

I wanted to make her a card.

I used the Sandbox dies by John Next Door to make the lattice.

I stamped the Snowdrop Element stamp with Memento ink so I could colour with Promarkers. The frame was cut with the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions.

Another Creative Expressions die.

This cross was cut with a Spellbinders die.

This is what our daughter has been doing in America she has been a a convention called Katsucon, She makes some of the costumes herself but both of these are commissions. A group of them went and they are all sightseeing now before they return,

They are making plans to go back next year.

I hope this card brings some comfort. There is a big memorial service planned her father was a well respected man.

A Baby card for New Grandparents.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? I hope you did something nice. I have been working on the image for the wedding invitations I am making for our nephew and his fiancee. The artwork has come in three parts that need putting together. It has been rather tricky. My husband had to do the scanning at his work as the main image was on A3 paper. He often ends up helping me when I make wedding invites it takes team work.

One of my best friends became a grandmother for the first time last week which is all very exciting. The new baby is a little girl and everyone is doing well. I made a card to celebrate.

So the new baby is a girl so the card had to be pink. I got all my baby themed dies and I put them together. It was quite a quick make.

The baby blocks are by Tattered Lace I picked them up in a sale.

The babygro is a Crafter's Companion die.

Another Tattered Lace die one of my favourites.

Look who is staying with us for a couple of weeks while my daughter and her husband are in America at a convention. They are very cute.

It is such a big thing to become a grandparent and my friend never thought she would.

Have a great week.

Winter Wonderland Tribute Challenge - Anything Christmas Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

This is the second post for me today. This is my second challenge with the Winter Wonderland Challenge blog and this one is special both teams are involved and it is a tribute to the founder of the blog who sadly passed away.  The sponsor this time is Imagine That Digistamp.

I create the background for the image with my computer. I used a snowy photo of our back garden that I had taken. With auto shapes I added the snow at the bottom.

There are some gorgeous image sets in the store. If you click on the logo you will be taken there. It is worth a visit.

This is image is called Sweet Deer and is available HERE. I used the pre-coloured image that came in the set. As it is a PNG image I could put it straight onto the background. I used a punch to cut some snowflakes.

I generated a computer sentiment.

I like this card a lot and I think I am going to make some more of them. They are nice and flat for posting.

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend. I will be working on wedding invitations for the wedding in Malta.

Crafty Catz challenge 404 Anything Goes with the optional twist of Using some Pretty Ribbon

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

This is the first of two posts from me today. Being Friday the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz Challenge blog and I am the host this time. The sponsor is Crafty Ribbons and the Design Team used their own images I chose the optional theme of Use some Pretty Ribbon.

The Crafty Catz Challenge blog has a Guest Design Team call for March out at the moment. If you are interested put GDT after your name with your entry.

My mother-in-law loves poppies this card is for her. I cut the image and the mats with the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions. The embossing folder I used is  Heart Lattice also from Creative Expressions. The sentiment was cut with some Emerald dies.

If you go to the store there is more than just gorgeous ribbon it is well worth a visit. If you click on the logo you will be taken to the store.

The poppies are come in a set from Beccy's Place I purchased them knowing my Mother-in-law would love them. The set is called Poppies and is available HERE.  I used the pre-coloured set to save a bit of time. I do love red poppies.

It is not long now and I will need this card.

Have a great weekend.

CRAFT Challenge blog challenge 455 - Guest Designer

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are well and having a good week. It is a bit of a busy week for me one way and another. Later I am meeting an old work colleague for a coffee which will be nice. Having worked in a school the holidays are the only time I can see some people.

Way back in January I won a challenge on the CRAFT Challenge blog and because of this they asked me to be guest designer for challenge 455. The sponsor is Sweet'n'Sassy and the theme is Mother's Day/Female.

I did colour the image first then I found a backing paper with a similar colour. The frame I cut with an older Creative Expressions die. I think the card I made is feminine enough.

This is not a brand I have used before and I was impressed by the images in the store. If you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This image is called Cone Flowers and Butterfly and is available HERE. I printed onto Neenah card and coloured the image with Promarkers.

The thank you ribbon came from a gift box.

The thanks die is one from Crafter's Companion.

Thank you for stopping by. Things seem to have been a bit odd in blogland lately. I will be back tomorrow with two Design Team posts.

Enjoy the day.

Happy Valentine's Day and the 70th Wedding Anniversary of my husband's parents.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends.

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone out there. Today is the 70th Wedding Anniversary of my parents in-law. There has been an article written about them on the Charity Today website which you can visit HERE.  My husband's father gets support from the the Blind Veterans charity as he is loosing his sight to age-related macular degeneration.
They needed to have a special card and as it is a Platinum anniversary I wanted to use lots of greys and silvers.

I decided on a twisted easel as I wanted more space to decorate also as I was going to hand it too them I could show them how to display it. I used the corner dies from the Sandwich box set from John Next Door to make the lattice. It is very easy to match up the pattern when you layer them over each other.

I scanned one of their wedding photos and printed it on to photo paper. I cut is out with the Heart of Hearts die set. The flowers are the ones from the Opera box set by John Next Door. You can just see the small lattice in the background from the sandwich box set.

The 70 was cut with some X-Cut dies.

This is a Tatterlace die. It is one of the most useful that I have.

I used the Stitched Flag dies to make the stopper the sentiment is a Signature die,

Here is their favourite photo from their wedding day. They had a copy of this on show at the party.

This is what they look like now.

This is the cake that one of the grandchildren made for the celebration.

I made this tag to hang on a plant we bought for them. My husband's mum doesn't like cut flowers. That is why we opted for a growing plant they last longer too.

They did like the card and the plant and they enjoyed their party. They were very tired the next day but it was worth it.

I hope you have a lovely day whatever you have planned. We went out on Monday for a meal and to see the Greatest Showman. We thoroughly enjoyed the film.  Today we are going to stay in and share the Valentine's Day Meal deal from M&S.
