Winter Scene Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good lockdown weekend and have got your head round the new tier restrictions that are coming our way. What with bubble Christmas to look forward to there is a lot to think about and consider. Today is my hubby's last working day. He will be training his replacement. Yesterday he did spend a bit of time getting ready for this. Life is going to be a bit different for us.

I am still making Christmas cards. I have no idea how many I will need this year. One of my hubby's first jobs will be to write our Christmas letter. Then we can sort the cards out and I will have an idea if I need to make anymore. I do have a couple of special ones I want to make. We did buy the stamps we need on Saturday.

I did treat myself to three of the new Christmas die sets from the John Next Door range.

I used a combination of the Sam's Circles, Jane's Tree and the Christmas Time dies sets. Now I have a white Posca pen I might add some snow to the background.

Well this is another one for the stash.

Have a good week.

Fresh Cut Panoramic Quarterette Aperture Dies - Anniversary Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has you week been? We have been plodding along sorting out the things that need to be done for my hubby retiring next week. His last day is Monday that is the last day of the month.

I bought the Fresh Cut Panoramic Quarterette Aperture dies just because I liked them on their own. I have some of the bigger dies and I like putting a smaller matching image on the inside of the card. Then I realised that they would line up.

So with Designer Papers, Sticky sheets and Microbeads this is what I came up with. All the black card I used came from my scraps bag.

I do love this scene. Maybe one day I will make it up and paper piece it.

I had some sticky sheet left over and some Designer paper I added stickers and then more Microbeads.

I will be having another play with these dies. In the meantime I will making a few more Christmas cards.

Enjoy the last lockdown weekend.

Winter Birds Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We had a lovely trip to Mottisfont on Monday and what was my hubby's last ever day's leave. The weather was nice so it was alright to have coffee outside. They had some very nice plants there too. Now my hubby is into his last few days of work. He finishes on 30th that's next Monday. Life will certainly be different.

I am still making Christmas cards. I am pretty sure I will be sending more this year. What a strange year we have had.

I do like making cards from old cards. When I saw this image I just had to use it. The patterned paper was in my stash, I do like to join in with the Rudolph Days Challenge throughout the year. It hard to believe it will be that start of December next week.

We love seeing the birds in our garden and we do feed them. There a couple of cheeky squirrels too.

This is a Creative Expressions die.

This is another one for the Christmas card stash.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Pretty Floral Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend. On Saturday we delivered the bunny hutch to someone who had requested it. That really is the end of an era for us. We spent the rest of Saturday and Sunday catching up on jobs in the house and garden. We did manage to fit in  a walk to our local country park.  Today my hubby has a day off. We are going for a walk at Mottisfont. Our tickets are booked. It will be nice to have a walk somewhere different and we might be able to get a take away coffee.

Here is a floral birthday card. I made for a friend.

This card started with the card blank. I have some very nice pinky red card blanks. The pattered paper was in my stash. The lacy die and the sentiment are Crafter's Companion dies. I do cut my own candi for the corners.

This pretty little image came from a HunkyDory Little Book.

This card was well received.

Have a good week.

House Number Frame and a New Home Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? I have done a little invigilating. I did more that I expected. We actually invigilated a proper external exam on Wednesday. The rest of the time was spent supervising pupils catching up on the Mock exams they had missed in the previous two weeks. It is so nice that I have a day off today. I am looking forward to the joining in with the  Shac Shack and to doing some crafting.

Our daughter and son-in-law moved last month. When they had their first house I made them a frame with their house number in it. Before they moved this time I was given the frame back and asked to make a new number. They wanted to keep the old number in the frame behind the new number. I thought this was a lovely idea.

Sorry for the glare on the glass. In the background is some of the paper that I used to make flowers  for their wedding. There is a hill opposite their house with a wood on the brow of the hill. They have seen deer over there as well. I used a John Next Door die to create that part of the scene. You know they have three bunnies that we looked after. The dog is a wish they would like to have a dog. The numbers were cut with a selection of dies in my stash.

Here is the New Home Card I made for them. This doodle is based on one of the doodles we did in Barbara Gray's Shac Shack. I missed a trick I should have drawn the actual house. This one isn't far off I have had another go for their Christmas Card. I do so love doodling. I would also like to buy them a wooden bird table for their garden. There are just so many birds round where they live now.

Have a good weekend.

Snowy Scene Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going?  I have just found out that I will be working for the next three days. This means that there won't be much time to craft.

I have been joining with Barbara Gray and her Shac Shack. Though this month it has been rather difficult to keep up because I have been working more that I expected. I did like the snowy scenes on Kraft Card that were done the other week. I have been brave and I have made a card with one of my doodles.

I found a patterned paper in my stash that seemed to suit the image. In fact it was left over from another card that I made earlier in the week.

This is the doodle using Micron pens, White Posca pens and  white and blue pencils. The sentiment was added with a ClarityStamp sticker.

Please be kind I am a bit shy about sharing my doodles. As I am working again I am not getting much time to craft. I think my little blog will be suffering for a while.

I hope the rest of the week is kind to you.

Poppy Heads and another Shutter Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope that you had a good weekend. The weather here was horrible so lots of jobs were done indoors. The bunny hutch is now in the garage. There is still a lot to do to the make the room how I would like it.

Here are another couple of my samples for the John Next Door range using the Poppy Head dies and the Shutter Card die set.

I used the Shutter Card die set to make this card. I also got involved with Sticky Sheets and Gilding flakes. At the back of the card I made a stamp with one of the poppy head dies. I stamped it with sticky ink and heat embossed it with a sparkly powder. You can hardly see that detail but it is there.

I was careful when I cut the poppy heads from the sheet I had covered in Gilding flakes. This meant I could use the waste sheet to make another care.

Here are both of the cards together. I did have fun using these dies.

The A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge blog - November 15th Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are having a good lockdown weekend. We have been trying to sort out our garden and the spare room. Since the rabbits left there is a lot to sort out. We have a rabbit hutch that is looking for a new home. Hopefully is will be gone soon.

Now is the time for the new challenge at The Bit More Time to Craft Challenge blog. The theme is always Anything Goes and there are gorgeous digi papers on offer as prizes.

The digi paper set I used for this card is the Gothic Flakes set.

Our challenges are always fun. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This little doggy family was made with the Winter Westie digi set from Fred She Said. I used the pre-coloured images and grouped them together.

The Merry Christmas is a Crafter's Companion die.

This is another card for my stash of cards. I haven't had time to craft for a while and I am missing it.

John Next Door Shutter Card Die set

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I have just finished two weeks of invigilating. The kids we have worked with have been very good and have coped with the difficult circumstances we have all had to deal with. I am posting on a Saturday as I have some news that I have been sitting on for a while.

Back in the summer I applied to be a Guest John Next Door Angel for the month of September. Well that didn't work out. A bit later on a received and email that I assumed would tell me that too many people had applied and that I hadn't made the cut. Well I was wrong I was given the chance to be a Guest Angel for November. In October I received my dies and I had a great time making cards with the Shutter cards die set and the Poppy Heads dies.

The dies were released on Hochanda yesterday and they proved to be very popular. I tried to make a range of card with the dies to show how versatile they could be.

I will start with the Christmas cards I made. All the dies and papers I used have been designed by John Lockwood aka John Next Door.

This card was shown in the Facebook Live the day before the release. By accident I made this card open the other way to most of them. It works just as well.

Here is a more straight forward Christmas card.

Here I made a Christmas card with Sam's Circles die set. I used the flags that came with Shutter Card die set.

Here are the Christmas cards together.

This is the Renmore die set from the John Next Door range. The sentiment was cut with a Crafter's Companion die.

A Ballet themed Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend in spite of lockdown. We have so many things to sort out the weekend whizzed by. I am invigilating again this week. My hubby is now into his last three weeks of work. All the paperwork has now gone to all the right places. So it is actually going to happen.

I was making a birthday card for someone else and I ended up with lots of pretty little scraps of paper. Well I just had to make another birthday card with them.

With the strips of pretty paper I made a background.

I used a Spellbinders die to make the label. The ballet dancer die is from Crafter's Companion.

The sentiment is a Crafter's Companion die too.

When I made this card I didn't have a recipient in mind. I just don't like wasting things.

Wedding Card for a Special Couple

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I haven't said much about this but I am invigilating this week and next. Schools are staying open so the invigilating will carry on. There is only a small group of us involved this time. We are looking after a smallish group of children in one venue. The room is ventilated. We wear masks and have sanitiser. It is good to be working. Our other news is that the bunnies have gone home. Our daughter and son-in-law came yesterday and collected them. Now we have a lot of sorting out to do. As our friend said you are now free to go out or go away now lockdown has started.

Last Saturday our friends got married. We couldn't attend but we watched online. They has already reorganised the date once and the then reorganised because of the change in numbers. Now they are grateful that they fitted it in before the next lockdown. Here is the card I made for them.

The backing paper I used is one of the Claritystamp Designer papers. This one made the perfect backdrop to the die cuts.

All the dies I used are from Crafter's Companion. The main die is called Just Married and is from the Rustic Wedding collection.

This dies is also from the Rustic Wedding collection. I have had it for a while and this it the first time  I used it. I have no idea what it is called but it is very pretty.

This image was taken from the television. It was so lovely to be a part of the wedding even though we were at home.

I hope the couple have a  very happy future together. What a strange year to get married in.

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge #81 - Anything Goes - Sponsor Geko Galz

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Thank you for sticking with me for the second post of the day. This one is for Challenge #81 at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog. The theme of all our challenges is Anything Goes and the sponsor to this challenge is Geko Galz.  Oh boy did we have some fantastic images to work with.

The set of images I used is called Gnome for the Holidays and it is available HERE.  There were so many images in the set I just couldn't stop making cards.

The store is a feast of delights. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

Aren't the gnomes cute and they worked so well with my stash.

This card even recycles an old card.

I made a Snippets background for this card.

He is just so cute. I do like red of Christmas cards.

This is a background I found. I couldn't resist adding Santa and a moon.

They work on tags too.

Here is everything together. There are lots of cards for my stash.

Have a great week.
