Winter Wonderland Challenge blog theme Animals

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Here is a second blog post from me today. I am hosting the new challenge on the Winter Wonderland Challenge blog and I have chosen the theme of Animals. The Sponsor is Pink Gems Designs.

I chose the image to use it is so cute. I knew I wanted to use my Snowflake embossing folder. I also used the Winter Trees and Santa's Sleigh die sets from Creative Expression.

There are many cute images and card topper in the store if you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This image is called Hedgy with Snowflake and is available HERE.  I used the PNG version of the pre-coloured image which meat that I could create my own oval background on the computer. I used my ScanNCut to make the mats for the image.

The Santa Sleigh die comes with two reindeer I cut another two to fill the space.

This is a Tattered Lace die it is a good size to fit into small spaces.

Have a great Easter.

Crafty Catz Challenge Blog - Anything Goes with the optional twist of Use your old Stash

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are well and that everything is planned for the weekend ahead. It all starts now as it is Good Friday. On Sunday we will hosting an Easter lunch and to make enough space I have had to move some of my crafty stash.

Being a Friday the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of Use your old Stash. The sponsor this time is Scrap N' Dipity.

The star backing paper was free online it was just right for this project.
If you would like to visit the store click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This is such a cute  image. I printed onto Neenah card and and coloured him with my Promarkers. Then I cut him out with my ScanNCut with a suitable border.

I used a Star Border die from Crafter's Companion. I have had this die for a while and this is the first time I have used it. I used some of the off cut stars to add to the background.

This is a die I won a while back I like how the sentiment sticks up.

Have a great Easter weekend. I hope the weather is kind to us.

Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) - The theme is Food and or Drink

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is everyone. Well Easter really isn't far away. Today our good old boiler is being serviced I am not quite sure how it keeps going. It is Good Friday tomorrow. We are hoping to pop into Southampton to see the Passion Play in  Guildhall Square (which is where my husband works).

I must get on with the matter in hand the new challenge starts on the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) challenge blog and the theme this time is Food and or drink.

This card started with the circle mats they were left over after cutting an aperture in another card and they were just too good to waste. The paper came from my stash.

I was looking through my drawers of craft bits and I came across some Forever Friends decoupage sheets and this image with the fabulous cake. I cut other strawberries from the sheet to add to the card. I haven't done any decoupage for a long time.

Have a great day.

Cute Puppy Thank You card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? How are your preparations for Easter progressing? I can't believe is it so close this year it seems to have sneaked up on us. I don't think all that snow helped.

I was asked to make a thank you card with a puppy on it. As explained before I had no images of puppies ( I really don't know how I managed this after crafting for so long). Anyway I bought a cute digi set from Beccy's Place called Dog Tales. The card has been received now so I can share it.

I have had the paw print paper in my stash for a long time. I used the Stitched Flag dies from Creative Expressions to cut the flags. To create the frame for the image I used the Decorative Frames dies from the Italian Collection also from Creative Expression. I love all those little hearts.

Beccy has some wonderful images sets in store and there are more coming all the time. Click on the logo and you will be taken to the store.

This oh so cute Beagle puppy comes from the Dog Tales collection which is available HERE I used the pre-coloured version of the image as I didn't have long to make the card.

The Thank You came from an old card.

I hope the recipient liked this card. Enjoy the rest of the week.

Christmas Santa

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a great weekend. We have actually finished the wedding invitations they are in the post. We also visited our parents as we had to cancel last week

I have been joining in with the Rudolph Days challenge. It is great way to keep up with my Christmas makes.

I used papers from my stash to create the background.

I have people who give me their old Christmas cards. This fantastic topper was on one of these card and it was just too good not to reuse.

I used the Snowflake border die to create the border.

I found this Noel in my stash it seemed to suit the card.

Crafty Catz Challenge Blog - Anything Goes with the optional twist of Easter

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Well that was a busy week. How was your week? Have you got something nice to do at the weekend? I am not quite sure what we will be doing. We will probably try and have a meal with my parents and then we will pop over and see my husband's parents. I am not too sure about what is happening with the wedding invitations - watch this space.

Being Friday the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of Easter. The sponsor is Sasayaki Glitter Digital Stamps.

I decided to make an Easel card. I used the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions to make all the mats and layers. The pretty patterned paper came from my stash.

There are many gorgeous images in the store if you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This is the Meg and Bubbly Digital stamp and it is available HERE. I printed onto Neenah cards and coloured the image with Promarkers. The sentiment was created on the computer.

I used the Stitched Flag dies to make the stopper for the easel card and I decorated it with die cut eggs.

Have a great weekend.

Distress Oxides Easter Cards

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I so glad that the snow has gone and that it is a little warmer.

I am in a few groups on Facebook and I saw some cards made with a technique using Distress Oxides. My first thought was I won't be able to do that. Anyway I visited the blog in question and there was a link to a video tutorial. So I had a look and I thought yes that is achievable. So I had a go with what I had in my stash.

I cut some Neenah card stock to the size I required.  Then with my stamp press I stamped the daffodils with Perfect Medium and heat embossed them with a white powder. With three shades of Distress Oxides I inked the paper with some cut and dry foam starting with the darker colour and working in to the lighter colour.

I buffed the ink off of the white embossing. Then I took a paintbrush and some water and I lifted the colour from the daffodil as I went I dabbed with kitchen towel. I put some yellow  Distress Oxide on my mat and added water I used this to paint over the daffodils.

The Happy Easter is a Clarity Stamp and it was heat embossed with a gold powder.

Here is the video that I saw on my friends blog. I found it very  useful.  I didn't realise how easy it is to put videos on your blog post.

Here are all the cards together. I think I have enough Easter cards now. This was a a fun technique it was good to get the inks and stamps out again. These cards are nice and flat for posting.

I would like to enter the Easter Challenge at Moo - Mania and More ,Challenge 12 at the Craftaholics R Us Challenge blog , challenge 372 at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge blog and challenge 139 at the Creative Moments Challenge blog.
Enjoy the rest of the week.

Kinetic Father's Day Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We worked on the wedding invitations but they are still not finished frustratingly the design keeps changing. We were hoping to visit on Sunday but the snow put us off.  This week ahead I will be helping at two Felting Workshops as one was postponed because of the previous snow.  I do enjoy these workshops and I am learning a lot. I was thrilled with the pot I made a few weeks ago. It is a lovely fluid craft you are never quite sure how things are going to turn out.

I have been trying to get ahead with my cards again. With this in mind  I managed to get the latest issue of Papercraft Essentials Magazine. The free gift was a Kinetic Creations Spinner & Slider Stamp and die set. There were also bonus papers to download from the magazine's website.

I used a cloud embossing folder for the back layer. The scene was one of the free papers to download.

This balloon was stamped and then coloured with Copic pens. I mentioned to our daughter that I wanted to try them and she lent me hers. Which is very kind of her. I am so used to Promarkers I think it will be hard to change. The slot was cut with a die from the set. The smaller balloons were stamped with one of the stamps from the set. The balloon doesn't slide as smoothly as it might but it was my first attempt.

This is such a useful die I use it every year it is a Signature die.

Like usual when I make cards ahead I just have to remember where I have hidden them when the time comes.

I hope you have a great week.

Happy Crafting

This image is called Bee Flower and it available HERE. I printed onto Neenah card and I coloured with Promarkers.

Easter Cards with Daffodils

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have been catching up on jobs in the house and also on my Design Team makes. The wedding invitations are progressing but we can't do much until next weekend when will get the go ahead on the format of the names.

I have been making more Easter cards and I need to make a few more. It is nothing like the amount I make for Christmas.

I made a bit of a mistake I saw a sketch for a challenge and I liked it. So I made these cards according to the sketch. When I went back the challenge had closed. I wasn't too unhappy I liked the design anyway and I got to use up some of the paper left over from our daughter's wedding. The ribbon was in my stash.

I know the oval dies are from Creative Expression but I can't remember which set I took them from.  I used the Spring Daffodil set to make the flowers. The bow is from Crafter's Companion.

Here are all the cards together.  I have changed the way I am taking pictures and it is a lot easier. I saw on someone's blog how they did it and I realised I could make my own set up like it. The lighting is more even too so I don't have to do so much editing with the photos on the computer.

I would like to enter challenge 366 at the My Time to Craft Challenge blog, challenge 146 at the Inspiration Destination Challenge blog ,challenge 362 at the Crafty Creations Challenge blog , challenge 276 at the Brown Sugar Challenge blog ,the Cuttlebug Mania Spring Challenge , the Challenge starting week of 13th March at TTCRD , challenge 85 at Scrapy Land Challenges and challenge 135 at the Let's Craft and Create Challenge blog.

Cute Puppy Birthday card.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors.

Happy Monday! How was your weekend. Our weekends are so busy but the invitations are nearly finished. Just a a few tweaks and they can be posted. There was a slight change of plan our daughter came to stay Saturday night. That meant that she shared Sunday morning with us before we went out for the planned meal before heading home on the train later. It was nice to see her for so long.

I was asked to make a thank you card with a puppy on it. Well I didn't have any dog images. I am not quite sure how I have been crafting for all this time and not have any dog images. Well I went to the Beccy's Place store and I bought the Dog Tales Digital stamp set and that solved my problem.

I can't share the thank you card yet as it hasn't been received. This is a birthday card that I made with one of the other images I printed at the same time. I tend to fill a whole sheet with things to print as it saves time later on.  With  the images being pre-coloured this  saved me lots of time. There are line art images and sentiments in the set too.

I have had the dog themed backing paper for ages (no actual dog images though).

This is a Basset Hound he is so cute with his big eyes and long ears. He fitted nicely in the the flag I made with the Stitched flag dies from Creative Expressions.

This is a die from Creative Expressions.

I think I will be using this set of images again. Maybe I will have time to colour them myself next time.
