Cheerful Daffodils for Mother's Day

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? I am a bit late posting today as I had an Open Reach engineer here most of the morning trying to sort out the problems with our internet. Hopefully it is working properly now only time will tell.

You know I like to get ahead with my cards. So today I made a Mother's Day card. They are fine to share as neither of our Mothers do Social Media of any kind.

The backing papers I had in my stash.

This is a signature die.

I cut the Spring Daffodil dies from Creative Expressions and I decided to put them in pots which I cut with Spellbinder dies.

For the corners I used the Cottage Garden die that came with Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine last year.

I had a lovely piece of news my blog (yes this one) was featured in the Sally's Ones to Watch section of the February issue on Making Cards Magazine.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the week. Being the start of the month I will be back with two blog posts tomorrow. It does get busy in Blogland at the beginning of the month.

LOTV Nativity Christmas Cards

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How was your weekend? I hope you were able to do something nice. On Saturday we went to our niece's party in Swindon it was at the local football club.  We had planned to visit some National Trust properties on the way there and on the way back but the weather wasn't on our side. We ended up doing quite a lot of shopping. We did get some bargains.

This year I am determined to not be in a rush making Christmas cards in December. I also have challenged myself to enter the Rudolph Days  Challenge every month until December.

This was quite a quick card to make. I love LOTV toppers they are so cute. The backing paper was in my stash as was the ribbon.

These images are so cute and they remind me of my days in school.

This is the comtempory Happy Christmas die from Creative Expression.

The card was so quick to make I made a second card with another image from the set.

We are having internet issues at the moment. I might be a bit intermittent with my contact until they are resolved.

Happy Crafting

I would like to enter the January Rudolph Days Challenge.

Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge Blog - Anything Goes with the Optional Twist of Using Something New

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is nearly here. I hope you have something nice planned. We are going to a party in Swindon on Saturday and on the way there we are hoping to visit a National Trust property. We have been looking at the book to try and decide where to go.

Being Friday the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz Challenge Blog. The theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of using something new. The sponsor this time is Bugaboo Digi Stamps.

What did I use that was new? The blue glitter card was new and the Ladybird die was new too. The backing paper was in my stash and seemed to suit the image. I used dies to cut the bunting, the butterflies, the ladybird and the sentiment.

There are many wonderful images in the store. If you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This image is called Sweet Unicorn and is available HERE! The image was printed onto Neenah card and coloured with Promarkers.

Enjoy your weekend.

Otters by Pollyanna Pickering

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? I can't believe we have got to the middle of the week already. Where does the time go? I had lunch out with a friend yesterday. Today I am off to the hairdressers in the rain. That should be fun.

I have been having a look through my files and I found I card I hadn't shared. I made it for a friend who was having a bit of a hard time and I just wanted him to know that we were thinking of him.

The backing paper came from a Creative World of Crafts paper pad. The sentiment was in a different pad by them. I do like things that match.

I  love Pollyanna Pickering images they are so detailed.

I hope our friend liked this card. I know he is feeling a lot better now.

There are many wonderful images in store click on the logo and you will be taken to the store.

This image is called Huddle and is available HERE. I printed onto Neenah Card and coloured with Promarkers. I did add some glitter

Crafty Catz Challenge Blog - Anything Goes with the optional twist of Male Birthday

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are well this is the first of two blog posts from me today. I am far away in Disneyland Paris with my husband, daughter and son-in-law. It is one of the celebrations of my 60th birthday which is in May. It is much cheaper to go to Disneyland Paris now.

Being Friday the new challenge starts on Crafty Catz Challenge blog. The theme is Anything Goes and the optional twist is Male Birthday. The sponsor is Crafty Sentiments Designs. This time the Design Team used their own images.

I wanted to make a card for our friend who is very keen on fishing and enjoys being with his grandchildren.

Crafty Sentiments Designs have many wonderful images in their store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This is image is in a digital set called Gone Fishin' which comes from Beccy's Place.  I printed the image onto Neenah card with the sentiment. Then I cut a large circle from some card and placed it over the image and the sentiment.  I used Distress ink with some brushes to create a circle around the image.

This sentiment comes in the set. Our friend will love it he is retired.

I used a Creative Expressions die to create the sentiment.

Have a great weekend.

This was a nice easy card to make with very pleasing results.

I hope you have a great week.

Brushos and Pixie Powder Sympathy Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

Good morning. It is so wet and damp this morning. I have a meal cooking in the slow cooker. It seems like the perfect day to stay in and craft. I hope you stay safe and warm.

I was looking through my files of photos and I came across this card that I haven't shared yet. It is a Sympathy card they are never easy to make. My husband wanted a card for someone at his work who had just lost his father-in-law.

I made two sheets of the background card with a stamp and a mixture of wet Brushos and Pixie Powders on my craft mat. Once I had finished stamping I spritzed the card to make the colours blend and mellow. I made one sheet a bit lighter so that the main stamp would show up a bit better.

This is a Woodware stamp called Going to Seed. I stamped it with Perfect Medium and heat embossed it with a black powder.

I do like creating these background but I do get very messy. I do have lots of inky kitchen roll that I should be making into backgrounds.

I am not going to be around much for the next few days. We are visiting Disneyland Paris for a few days with our daughter and son-in-law. I hope the weather is kind to us. We are all going to take waterproofs I think we will need them.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Quick Thank You card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? I am trying to get things sorted before we go away next week there are lots of Design Team bits and pieces I need to catch up with. I just don't know where the time goes.

I had a slight blogging disaster today. A post I had been working on for Friday somehow was published this morning. Some lovely people even left comments but I have had to put it back to Drafts. Blogger was being a bit off last night it must have happened then.

Our ex-brother-in-law sent us some Dr Who DVDs as he knew that we are big fans. He isn't having a very easy time at the moment so we decided to get him a Costa gift card so he could have a few drinks out. Now being me I just had to make a card to go with it.

This card didn't take long to make. I used lots of bits that were left over from other cards. The main dies I used are from the French Collection by Creative Expressions.

This thank was cut from an old card using the Double Pierced Rectangle dies also by Creative Expressions.

I think this makes quite an effective card for a man. Inside I created a pocket to put the gift card. I hope he like it.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine last ever issue

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How was your weekend? I hope you did something nice. We were expecting to see a friend but he had to rearrange so we had a quiet weekend catching up on things in the house and garden. There is always something to do.

I am sure you all know by now that the latest issue (174) of Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine is their last. It is a shame I have enjoyed the magazine and I have had quite a few cards published in it. Mostly ones using the monthly bonus papers. I was pleased to see my card in the last ever magazine.

The Meadow Bonus papers this time were very pretty. I also used some of the new colours of Centura Pearl card with my Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions to make the mats and layers.

I think it is a Spellbinders die that I used to make the frame.

Here is my card in the magazine.

It is such a shame this magazine had to go. I was pleased to read that all of the staff had been redeployed. It is the end of an era.
