Tri- Shutter Baby Shower Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? Today is our daughter's birthday and she will be working today. Later we are going to meet her and our son-in-law for a meal to celebrate.

Last week I was asked to make a card for a Baby Shower. This was a first for me and I had to ask for a little guidance. I was sent a picture for inspiration though the card in question had been made with a die set. I decided to hunt around the internet to see what I could find. What I found was how to make a Tri-Shutter card.

Before you get worried the mother to be in question knows that she is having a boy. I found a YouTube film that had a template that I could download. Now being me I change the measurements a bit. I did all the scoring with my Hougie Board. Then I had to be brave and use a Stanley Knife to cut the slits. I wanted a smooth cut so scissors would't do.

I printed the paper it has tiny blue hearts on it. The dies came from my stash.

I photographed the card from different angles so it is possible to see all the dies I used.

This photo shows how the card sticks out. I made a place on the back to sign. It folds up really small so it doesn't need a very big envelope.

Here is the card with other at the Baby Shower.

Always Fun Challenges - Graduation

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your weekend been so far? Yes some of us get an extra day today. For us that means a day in the garden but I am hoping to get out and do a bit of shopping. Last week we created a space in a border and hopefully we will be able to buy a plant to fill the gap (one that can cope with shade).

The new challenge starts at Always Fun Challenges and the theme is Graduation. As soon I saw this theme I remembered a digi stamp I had from Kenny K. Unfortunately he no longer sells his images.

The gold and black circles were left over from making an aperture for another card. I added  silver stars too. The pink paper was in my stash. I was able to bend the Congratulations die cut round the circle I added a drop shadow to help it stand out.

I used this image for a Design Team card a few years ago. All I can say is that my colouring has improved. I still have a lot to learn. She was coloured with Promarkers and cut out with my ScanNcut. I did decoupage the certificate and the hand. Though this doesn't show in photo.

Have a great day.

Winter Wonderland - Add a Heart

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Here is my second post of the day so not just one Christmas card but two today. The new challenge starts on the Winter Wonderland Challenge blog and the theme is Add a Heart. The sponsor is Sasayaki Glitter.

When I had coloured the image and cut it out there was this piece of red striped paper on the table and that is what I used. I found the other paper in my stash the candy canes on it make hearts.

There are many gorgeous images in the Etsy shop if you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This image is called Christmas Couple and it is available HERE   I printed them  onto Neenah Card  and I coloured them with Promarkers. The I cut the image out with my ScanNcut.

I got some nesting heart dies free with a magazine. I used them to make the heart and the sentiment was added with a Tattered Lace die.

I am really not sure who I am going to sent this Christmas card too. I am sure there will be someone suitable.

There are many wonderful images in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This image is Christmas Words - Snow and it is available HERE. I printed onto Neenah card and I coloured the image with Promarkers. As I wanted to make a simple card I didn't cut out the image I just made it into the top layer.

I used the Snowflake border die from Creative Expressions to make the snowy border.

Moving Along with the Times MAWTT - Black and White and one other colour

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope your week is going well. I am invigilating for the next two mornings with a very early start on Friday. This is also a busy blog time for me with lots of Design Team commitments coming at the same time.

The new challenge starts on the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge blog and for the next fortnight the theme is to use Black and White and one other colour.

I started by finding a black and white script backing paper. I cut the lattice with the Strip die from John Next Doors Sandwich Box die set.  The frame was made with the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expression.

I used the Stitched Flag dies from Creative Expression to make the flag. The sentiment was cut with a die that I won as a prize.

I used the Gerbera Flower dies and the Gerbera Leaves dies from John Next Door to make the flower spray.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Beccy's Place - Ferris Wheel

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have been very busy the invigilating has taken a bit of getting used to and of course it has eaten into my craft and blog time.

I am the Guest Designer on Beccy's Place Design Team. Here I am using the second set of images from the second set I was sent.

The background for this card was made with inky kitchen roll that I had dried and stuck to card. The stars were cut with a die I think they were the waste.

There are many wonderful images in at Beccy's Place. If you click on the logo you will be taken there.

I printed the image onto Neenah card and I coloured it with Promakers. Then I cut it out with my ScanNcut.

I put two of the sentiments on the card.

I cut flags for them with some Sue Wilson dies.

There you have is quite a simple card. The colouring always takes me a while.  You can see my card on Beccy's Blog HERE.

Always Fun Challenges - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you have had a great weekend and are ready for the week ahead. We dashed to the tip on Saturday (we had loads of garden waste) then to M&S to get nice food for the weekend. We were home in time to watch the wedding which was so lovely. We know Windsor quite well and we have even been to a service in St George's Chapel so that made it all rather special. The weather played its part too. The rest of the day we spent in the garden and my husband fitted in another trip to the tip with even more garden waste. On Sunday we visited the Poppy Wave installation at Fort Nelson near Portsmouth. In evening we had friends round to share a curry. It has been a good weekend.

Being Monday the new challenge starts at Always Fun Challenges and this time the theme is the ever popular Anything Goes.

I am often asked for cards featuring owls by my friend who runs a Brownie Pack. They make great cards for other people too. The packing paper came from a paper pad from Creative World of Crafts. The die for the branches came from Crafter's Companion.

Why not join us for challenge 59 the theme is Anything Goes.

This is another fabulous image by Pollyanna Pickering. We are so lucky that she left a large body of work behind her.

My go to Happy Birthday die for Crafter's Companion.

I have another busy week coming up with more invigilating.

Crafty Catz Challenge blog- Anything Goes with the optional twist of using the Sketch

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? I have been rather busy which I must admit I rather like. I have been invigilating, I helped at a Felting workshop and I have been out to lunch. This evening our daughter and son-in-law are coming to supper it will be lovely to see them and share a meal. All of this has made it rather hard for me to keep up with my crafting and blogging. Our weekend will be full of gardening.  Our garden has been somewhat neglected for several years so it is taking a while to get it back into order.

Being Friday the new challenge starts today on the Crafty Catz Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes but we have the optional twist of using the Sketch provided by Niki one of our very talented designers. The sponsor is Digi Doodle Studios. The design team had wonderful images to work with.

All the papers lace and ribbon I used came from my stash lots of it left over from the wedding last year.

Our sponsor this month is Digi Doodle Studios if you click on the logo you will be taken to the store.

Here is the sketch. I rather enjoyed using it.

This image is called Jade and Skye Digi Doodles Sheep Dog Digi Stamp and is available HERE. I printed the image onto Neenah Card Stock and I coloured with Promarkers. Then I used the ScanNcut to cut out the image.

I had been using the Cape Daisy dies from Creative Expressions and the Star Flower leaves from John Next Door to make flowers for other cards. They seemed to go well with this design.

This is my go to Happy Birthday die from Crafter's Companion.

Have a great weekend. Of course there is the Royal Wedding and the FA cup final all to enjoy.

Beccy's Place - Spring Chickens Digital Image Release

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? This week I started invigilating at the local secondary school. It did come as something of a shock to get up at the particular time but it has been okay. It is very casual work. On the plus side it means I have some extra money for Craft supplies.

I am still Guest Designer at Beccy's Place and I am sharing from the first set of the second set of images I was sent. They are part of a new release of images  this month.

I am sharing my favourite card of the ones I made for Beccy. I love the Chickens in this collection they were so easy to colour. They were printed onto Neenah card stock and coloured with Promarkers. They were all cut out with my ScanNcut.

This is a Twist and Pop card.

This gives you more room for images and a sentiment. The paper was left over from the wedding I have lots of it. I made one of these cards before and I had more layers which made it bulky when flat. This one has less layers and is easier to fold up.

This set is called Spring Chickens and it is available HERE. Aren't some of the sentiments just brilliant as well as the chickens.

I know Beccy liked this card she told me so. I just have to work out who to send it to.

You always need Thank You cards after a Birthday

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? The weather has certainly been nice here. This week I started invigilating at our local secondary school. This should provide me with enough money to keep up with my crafty needs. I am also getting a small pension that I almost forgot about. It is  just enough to keep me going. As they say every little helps.

The post title says it all I had a birthday I got some lovely presents and cards so I need thank you cards.

I loved the Doodled Floral Corner Digi set from Fred She Said that I used for a Design Team piece recently. With Publisher I created the shaded blue background. Then I placed the image on top. There was no thank you sentiment with the set so I created my own. I printed the resulting image onto Neenah card stock and I coloured the flowers and leaves with my Promarkers. Not much else was needed just some simple matting and layering. I made ten of these cards. They are nice and flat for posting too,

Here are the gorgeous handmade cards I received.

This is just some of the highlights from our trip to Glasgow. Here  is part of the Charles Rennie Mackinstosh Chinese inspired tea room interior. It is in the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. We did see the recreated Tea Room at The Willow Tea Rooms.

This rather fabulous display was at the Gallery of Modern Art.

On my birthday we had afternoon tea at The Willow Tea Rooms. The chairs were amazing they were just so tall. The food was good too.

We used the tour bus while we were there it makes it so easy to get around. We had a two day ticket and we got to see lots of thing that we would have been harder without it.

Near the cathedral there is this mural of St Mungo. Apparently one of his miracles was to revive a robin.

We are members of the National Trust which meant that we were able to visit the Tenement House that is owned by the National Trust of Scotland. It is a time capsule from when it was built. It gives a fascinating insight into ordinary life.

Here are all ten cards together. I did enjoy using all the different colours. All I have to do now is get them into the post.
