CAS Wedding Invitation Design

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Bank Holiday is over and we are back to work. I didn't realise that people in Scotland don't get that bank holiday. That is a shame but I think they get other holidays.

I have been mentioning working on Wedding Invitations  ( I do have a lot to do). I don't think I have shared the sample I made for the second lot of invitations I am making. It is a lovely simple design and it does incorporate all the colours of the wedding.

It takes just one A5 double sided pearlised sheet with matting and layering.

The thistle is a  tattered lace die. I snipped off the bottom of the design and paper pieced the top of the thistle. I made 35 of these at the weekend.

Yesterday we went to Exbury Gardens in the New Forest in Hampshire. I am going to share just a few of my photos (I took loads).

The flowers were stunning and the colours were amazing.

Everywhere you went there was something to see.

Some of the views were beautiful and so full of colour. We have been to this garden a few times but I don't think I have ever seen the colours like this.

The bluebells were out too.

The carpets of bluebells were just so pretty. I can really recommend the garden as a day out if you are down this way especially at this time of year.

The couple I am making these invitations for are very pleased with the design. I am making the place setting cards as well.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

65th Wedding Anniversary Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week so far? Not too long and we will be at the weekend and we will have an extra day off to enjoy. I will be working on the wedding invitations again. Though I am planning to have at least one day to go out and have some fun I do hope the weather is kind.

I was asked to make a 65th Anniversary card at short notice last week. I have asked and it is OK for me to share the card. The stone for a 65th Anniversary is Blue Sapphire just like the 45th Anniversary. So it had to be a blue card.

I love my Spellbinder corner dies they deboss and well as emboss.

I used a piercing ruler on one of the mats this then matches piercing on the die.

The sentiment was cut with Britannia dies. I added a heart to balance the design.

This what  my table looks like when  I am working on the wedding invites

I   die cut 100 steering wheels and 50 anchors.

The lady I made this card for was very happy with it. I do seem to be getting more commissions.

Enjoy the rest of the week. Not long till the weekend.

Revised Wedding Invitation Design

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you have had a good weekend. I am nearly completely better so I am fit enough to go back to work.

Well I have managed to catch up on a few jobs this week, even though at the start of the week it looked like I wouldn't be able to. My husband helped me hugely on Saturday.

I thought you might like to see the revised Wedding Invitation design. We have spoken to the happy couple and they are happy for me to go ahead with this design.

The colours are a bit more muted and I have used dies to cut some of the mats so I can do a bit of gutting to save a bit of money.

This is the original design it hasn't changed that much really. I will be using distress ink on the Gelli plate and not acrylic paint.  I think that will be easier to make multiple copies this way.

A close up of the background I used two netting masks stuck together to give me a larger mask  so that I could  create the netting effect on the background without having to move the mask.

This is the Save the Date cards all finished my husband sorted all the printing for me which was a huge help. They were collected earlier and they will be sent out soon.

So this is what I will be working on next. I think I will have to have a day making backgrounds and so forth. I don't want to leave it all till the last minute. I will be designing much smaller evening invitations soon they will be the same size as the Save the Date cards.

I hope you have a good week.
